‘Shit.’ I thought to myself as the sound of trees being uprooted echoed through out the whole forest, the sound was fairly potent so it could only mean that it was fairly close to our position. pacing behind Yui I wasn’t sure if she had noticed the noise because she hadn’t slowed down a bit, but on other hand she knew I had her back but sometimes that wasn’t enough as I heard Yui sudden scream. ‘Shit!’ being a couple of paces behind Yui I would notice the tree line raising up, it had been a full five meters away from us though. As her pace to fast to slow down at that point she had began her free fall from the trees, my chakra would quickly rush to my eyes causing my sharingan to be activated. My face would slightly grimaces a little bit at the sight of Yui falling, but I didn’t have much time to think about it as adjusted my movements accordingly. As I reached the raised tree line just after Yui I would spring forward while focusing a bit of Chakra to my feet, I would land on the trunks allowing my self to defy physics quite a bit.

“dammit.”

I would say under my breath as I heard the sounds of breaking branches, I wasn’t sure how Yui turned out but I knew that I didn’t wanna take that dive. ‘My clone.’ I thought for a second as I pressed forward, I had known he had shared the elementary chakra channeling skills that I had so he would be fine. Though I did have another job for him as I gave him a simple mental command to flip through his own set of seals, he would be on my trail as we progressed through the dense forest that covered the area. It would take me long to get past the raised tree line with my clone still behind me flipping through his own set of seals, once I passed through the 5 meters of raised trees I would jump to the nearest branch. And continue forward, 'I got a plan.’ I thought to myself as I moved along the tree line alone now, I wasn’t sure how where Yui had went but I had a feeling she couldn’t be too far from myself.

Kinobori no Waza is an Academy Ninjtusu technique. By focusing a small amount of chakra to the bottom of their feet, the user can climb a tree (or other vertical wall) without utilizing their hands. This technique has a dual purpose, since it is the perfect way to increase skills with chakra control - if the stream of chakra is too weak, the user will loose their footing; if the stream is too strong, the user will be pushed away from the surface.

From the shadows of the forest Yui listened and waited. Soon Ichi went running over head through the forest and decided to run the same direction. Whoever was following them was not likely to give up and would chase after Ichi, but while the line of sight had been broken by a combination of the wall and the fall Yui withdrew a blanket from her pack. Running a further twenty meters away from the wall but still in line of sight that she could see it she threw the blanket over her head making two eye holes for herself to look through. She then backed against a the bark of the tree and melded with the forest becoming invisible to the naked eye.

She could hear Ichi running ahead now and assumed he had a plan of some kind. She had one as well, but it was very simple and short term. In her spot on the tree side she waited and prepared herself for whatever would follow. Whoever this guy was, he couldn't try to hide from them forever. She waited silently holding her breath and waiting for any sound that could be heard.

If the worst should happen she now gripped a small combustible in her left hand, and in her right she clutched a three shuriken at the ready. It wasn't altogether necessary, but Yui felt there could never be enough back up plans until they at least saw what they were up against. Things were going to get ugly real fast...

Fortunately Ichi was right on Yui's trail, following swiftly and watching her back so she decided to focus ahead on the journey they were on. Suddenly, the roar of rumbling earth from below broke the still forest as a wall sprang up lifting the tree line five meters before both Yui. She shouted in alarm and shielded her face by crossing her arms past her face but allowing some vision. At the same time a low pulse of chakra echoed through her body sending a dose of healing chakra to her extremities.

With the elevated forest line, the route forward had changed drastically and Yui began to fall crashing through a few branches and trees. Striking several on the way down she began a free fall tumble through from branch to branch slowing her descent until she finally fell to the ground landing on her knees and forearms and tumbling along the earth. Fortunately though Yui had seen the danger and managed to use some foresight to the fall.

Given the minimal distance between the sudden landscape change and the targets we pursued, who were running at full speed at the time, it was safe to assume that they would not have the proper foresight to protect themselves from the rising tree line that bolted up from the bottom at just 5 meters ahead of them (a distance easily traversed in a second or less at full speed). From where they stood (20 meters above the ground), a 10 meter long - 5 meter deep patch of land (and the trees rooted within it) would rise 15 meters from beneath them. This meant they would have to to deal with the brunt of damage that intrinsically came when 49 feet (15 meters) of aged wood and sharp branches suddenly jutted at you.

In truth I had created nothing short of a spike trap meant to skewer my opponents, and at the very least hinder their progress. Being set off course and forced to free fall through the raised portion of the dense forest was but a segment of what I had planned. My aim was to force them not only to deal with the sudden change in landscape, which would knock them off balance, but also the fall that came thereafter; a 20 meter drop that would feel just as painful. This would also increase the likelihood that they would suffer some type of irreparable damage having crashed so far for so long. The descent through the dense forestry would seem endless.

Having expected such, I shifted myself 5 meters ahead to align with the clone who had summoned the wall, instructing both replicas to remain idle while I surveyed the damage. My lowermost clone would spring from the earth (effectively cancelling his technique) to take up position beside the one who summoned the wall.

My clones and I are in direct line with one another; Yondaime is 10 meters up in the trees and the other two are directly below him standing on top of the land. Our position is 5 meters away from the conjured wall

I ended up active chakra suppression and, with a thought, commanded my replicas to join me within the trees so that we could all inspect what had occurred. We moved as a close knit unit, remaining 3 meters apart from one another while scaling toward the elevated portion of the forest.

I found their bodies not far from one another, elevated 10 meters in the trees. They had both been skewered by branches after taking a 10 meter drop from their positions which left them 10 meters above the raised portion's floor and 25 meters above of the actual forest floor. Having noted their demise I callously reached around each of their bodies acquiring whatever I could before moving onto the next.

One of them had a particularly familiar chakra signature, one that I abhorred but admired all the same. He was an Uchiha and thus I knew of his potential. My fingers straightened as I stared down at his mangled visage, jutting them forward to strike just below the eye where I cracked both orbital bones. With just my hand I made sure to securely move the fractured portions away from the organs before harvesting them for my own keeping, placing them within a capsule I'd found on the girl.

Tucking it away with all the other paraphernalia I'd discovered, I remained within this elevated portion of the forest. Together my replicas and I scaled to the canopy of this portion, another 10 meters up, so that we could see just where we were in relation to the target area. The forest had been thick and confusing and thus this area provided the perfect vantage point for us to look over top of it.

When we arrived at the top, the peak of the mountain was easily visible. We had some distance to travel and there was no telling who else I would find within the maze. The forest was still once again and the arid breeze of the region was audible.

I smirked, grinning at the thought of succeeding.

The Yonbi would be mine.

With the Raikage's body hoisted upon his shoulders, Chae made his way down the side of the mountain until he reached its base and climbed up to the peak of a nearby foothill where he looked down upon forests' canopy. That area, said to have been one filled with confrontation, could've easily held hostile forces within which only meant that Chae needed to not be tied down by any 'dead weight' - ironic.

Dropping his body at the peak of the hill, Chae peered off into the distance, scanning the entirety of the forest while he had the chance. Keenly, he looked for any potential signs of life, however, given the condition of one of his two eyes, he wouldn't have gotten far with idle observation.

To get to the third and final area where his Kirigakure allies were stationed, he needed to pass through the forest, alive and unscathed. With that, he descended down to its base and into the forest (ground level) where he transitioned onto flat ground and sifted through columns of trees and separated patches of undergrowth.

Walking with a steady pace, Chae progressed through the forest on a road like path where the grass had obviously been flattened due to constant walking. With roughly 5 meters of space, the path seemed to extend as far as Chae's good eye could see.

"Doesn't look like much, and its quiet, too quiet. This area just can't not have anyone here. I don't like this idea at all."

Every few moments, Chae -dressed in his standard armour - looked up, down, left, right, and even back over his shoulders, feeding the hunger of the inherent paranoia that he acquired over the years as a shinobi. His steps were careful and moved about as quietly as possible while listening and looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Nice auto hit brobeans, but even if you loot my character the preservation pod's not on the body so... yeah. Not that rules ever effect anything on this site it seems.

With my sights set on the peak ahead of me, there was a faint movement in the distance that provoked me to give it further inspection. Focusing my attention through the lens of my tracker, it's purpose was served by magnifying my vision enough to survey what I'd saw in detail. What I discovered was a masked man holding a body in the fireman's carry position. Nothing he wore seemed to articulate his allegiance to a particular hidden village but his look was unsettling nonetheless.

I watched intently to see what his plans were exactly, discovering thereafter that he was actually heading in my direction. Given his distance away, I figured I had enough time to prepare so without the slightest fret I began taking preparations for what was to come, because I knew that if he didn't intend to hunt me down I would undertake the task myself. A fully stocked quiver lay on my back, and from it I began picking up individual arrows to accessorize by piercing them with my own exploding notes, poking the arrow heads through a portion of each slip. There were ten notes so only ten arrows were upgraded

Next I formed a single seal¹ that soonafter materialized another replica of myself on a branch just two meters to my side. I turned to face him, noticing his gaze was just as cold as my own. "You know what to do," I nodded. He returned a nod to me and immediately began bounding down the trees towardthe raised platform's floor. I and my elemental clones did the same until we'd all rendezvoused at the bottom, walking to the edge of the rock formation to peer down at the forest below. That was where we would most likely find our target so with a leap a faith, we plummeted toward the forestry to take our positions.

Landing atop some of the uppermost branches, 20 meters above the forest floor, we quietly scaled across the canopy in pursuit of the man in question. One image of the Yondaime formed a single seal² which gifted him chakra-seeing abilities up to 50 meters. It was this way that we found the signature of a man who seemed to possess incomparable power. His chakra pool was well above average and he notably favored the Lightning element, which would be a problem against my preferred nature transformation: Earth. Luckily I had other tools at my disposal.

We remained at the distance we'd detected the target, opting to hone in on the area in question so that our formation could be worked out. The area seemed to be an infinitely long stretch, five meters wide that led directly up to the target; almost like a runway. Given what we'd witnessed in the target's chakra capacity, it was most plausible to keep our distance so that we could judge the threat at hand. From the height of the trees, each of Yondaime's images would gracefully tread down their respective tree's side to take position within the dense forestry.

With each person no more than 5 meters apart from one another, without a word, the tight knit group fell into action. One Yondaime took up his bow before each stepped out onto the open stretch, quickly assuming a 5 by 5 square formation that occupied the entire width of the lane; two in front and two in the back. Out of the two in the front, the upper left Yondaime was armed with a 50 lb. shortbow that had been readied and nocked with one of the explosive tag laced arrows, aiming down the stretch. The back right most Yondaime had also began formulating a lengthy string of handseals.³

Shinobi followed their instincts to the letter, enough so that those -like Chae- who cling onto their instincts for dear life, never doubt themselves. Having actually left the Raikage's body at the peak of the foothill, Chae made his way through the forest, armed and not so alone. 

Every few moments, Chae -dressed in his standard armour - looked up, down, left, right, and even back over his shoulders, feeding the hunger of the inherent paranoia that he acquired over the years as a shinobi.

Having already been looking from place to place, searching, it went without saying that coupled with the movement through the trees and its leaves, which weren't exactly 'quiet' (at least not 100%), that Chae's senses began to catch on to another's presence. He didn't need some fancy chakra sensing technique, only the paranoia that plagued him and the willingness to find something that most wouldn't even have thought to be there. 

Nevertheless, a quick glance back over his shoulders cemented his paranoia as a total of four identical men moved down to Chae's level with a speedy gait. Intuitively, a quick movement of his heels turned him around to face the group properly where he expected the worse case scenario.

"Heh. Never fails!"

By the time the group completed their formation, focused on their target and set in motion their plan of action, Chae had already formulated and carried out a plan of his own, namely by pivoting towards (Chae's right) the column of trees that were on both his sides (kind like | * | w/ chae being the star). Bolting towards and between two trees which were roughly 2~3 meters apart, he continued into the forest (roughly two rows in) before he broke that horizontal path and curved back around to the group's leftward flank. The column of trees (each being about 2-3 meters apart) would've undoubtedly proved to be a great deal of cover from explosions or any area of effect techniques.  

Although the trees obstructed his view of his opponents position for the briefest of moments, it hadn't been enough to the point where he'd have lost sight of where his alleged assailants remained. If they moved, he'd have known and adjusted accordingly. While roughly 6 meters (lateral space) from the left-most side of the square formation due to the curved run, Chae's chakra twisted and thrummed, leaving his image to run amok, and Chae himself to be armed with two plain shuriken, all the while attempting to reduce the distance between the upper left yondaime to a meager 6 meters.

Though he was obstructed by the trees, his image continually popped into my tracker which allowed the device to automate the distance he was traveling. He was moving fast, but my preemptive set up provided more than enough time for me to deduce a proper plan of action -- henceforth the Aspect of Yondaime that had sought to bring his method to life.

With the distance between the group and the assailant being noted on the HUD of the tracker, he was able to deduce just how fast he was running by taking note of the shrinking gap. With that in mind, he fired his bow approximately 20 meters away so that the arrow would land against a tree (on the face opposite from where the man was running for concealment) and begin it's slow countdown. By the time the man reached the area where the arrow had been sent, some twenty meters away, he would be left to deal with the explosion.

After releasing the arrow, that Aspect of Yondaime would draw another armed arrow while maintaining an affixed eye on the opponent's image, which presented itself every so often between the gaps in the trees.

Chae's chakra twisted and thrummed, leaving his image to run amok, and Chae himself to be armed with two plain shuriken, all the while attempting to reduce the distance between the upper left yondaime to a meager 6 meters.

Chae's 'self' which turned out to be his afterimage, fizzled in the explosion as it continued forward, however, Chae himself had been long gone before its ignition¹ (since it was waited upon). As for Chae himself he'd been much too fast for the yondaime and his attempted actions, perhaps too fast, to put it simply. By the time he'd have realized anything had changed and that Chae's movements left behind a mere substance-less image with his speed, it seemed safe to say that it'd been too late - somewhat. Although Chae never noticed the tag in question, he didnt' need to so readily, at least not when his desire to close such a seemingly huge amount of space grew brighter than any sun.

The distance that between them vanished to a mere 5 meters, and by the time the earth, air, yondaime (including clones), and anything around could react to the raw speed of Raiton no Yoroi, he'd have already curved and positioned himself away but between the two furthest clones (immediate rear), burying his thrown shuriken^T3 -which on Chae's whim, were consumed in a film of raiton chakra on par with chidori- once he momentarily stopped. With a brisk pace, the shuriken zoomed towards the two clones and would've cut through the clones' bodies, enough so that (considering the element) they continued forward towards anything immediately in front of them.

With his reflexes increased five-fold, his senses remained wide open as his body remained poised to attack and react to any and everything, namely with a simple bent in his knees coupled with a small pressure beneath his feet.

Techniques Used:

Tier 3 - the Lighting Fang: Taking their mastery of raiton chakra even further, the user begins to understand how to effectively charge external objects. While not a perfect understanding, they are capable of charging a single object in a coat of raiton-based chakra, dramatically increasing its cutting strength (on par with chidori). These objects can leave the user's possession after they've been charged (i.e you can throw them), but lose their charge in the following post. This ability can only be used once every three posts, and requires a single Mid worth of chakra. If the user already knows chidori and all of its sub-techniques, this feat can be performed once every other post with no cost.

Raiton no Houchou is a ninjutsu technique that is only applicable upon learning Raiton no Yoroi. While similar, unlike its offensive counterpart (Jigokuzuki), Raiton no Houchou focuses entirely on the speed boost provided by Raiton no Yoroi itself. Simply put, the general concept around the technique is based on using Raiton no yoroi's explosive speeds to shuffle their body in several directions to give off three different type of 'steps'

Raiton no Bouchou (Lightning step)
While the concept is still similar to the spark step, the execution and functionality of the Lightning step are completely different. This second or middle stage of step's is considerably the most defensive against taijutsu & non AOE ninjutsu when in motion. Because of the concentration needed to perform this during movement requires a higher consumption in chakra.

Nonetheless, when against an attack that the user can read & see coming towards them, they can merely activate this technique with an extra bit of chakra to boost their speeds a single level above Raiton no Yoroi's normal (x6) for the duration of the movement. In doing so, it leaves an afterimage of the user that, when struck, dissipates into fizzling lightning (see image), leaving the user to maneuver around the opponent (or attack) unseen since the afterimage serves as a 'distraction' for ones eyes.

Additionally, with a stacked cost (x2 high + Raiton no yoroi activation), the user can use only this method as a means of activating Raiton no Yoroi to further surprise and blind side the enemy. When using this as an activation into Raiton no yoroi, the user does not gain x6 speeds but Raiton no Yoroi's base.

True, I was not knowledgable of the phenominal speed increase my opponent would gain from his rare technique but having lived my entire life on the battlefield it went without question that proper tactics outshined fancy jutsu on any day of the week. Through monitoring my opponent's actions, and specifically how hastily he sought to shrink the gap between he and myself, I was immediately able to rule out the plausibility of a long range assault.

It was also true that I particularly favored keeping my distance in battle, but I was more than prepared to handle myself if a situation beckoned me to adapt quickly. This would be no different and my clever use of resources might have astounded my physically superior opponent.

With that in mind, he fired his bow approximately 20 meters away so that the arrow would land against a tree (on the face opposite from where the man was running for concealment) and begin it's slow countdown. By the time the man reached the area where the arrow had been sent, some twenty meters away, he would be left to deal with the explosion.

To put it simply, this was a diversion. I knew very well that the man whose chakra capacity nearly tripled that of the average man would not fall victim to such an elementary assault, or even be phased by it. Power like that was hard to come by, thus the maneuver's purpose served mainly to fish out the opponent from the dense forestry or -- as I'd originally anticipated -- goad him to move even closer.

Given what we'd witnessed in the target's chakra capacity, it was most plausible to keep our distance so that we could judge the threat at hand.

My intent all along had been to decipher the mysterious stranger. I knew my chakra capacity was nowhere near his own so I used whatever resources I had at my disposal to ensure I used as little as possible. I expanded the utility of the exploding tag by allowing it to count down rather than detonate it remotely. This was because it would serve as one piece of a two-part "alarm" that existed in the very foundation of my squad's formation.

Chae's 'self' which turned out to be his afterimage, fizzled in the explosion as it continued forward, however, Chae himself had been long gone before its ignition1 (since it was waited upon).

And all worked according to plan. His aftward assault of the two rear clones was successful and would easily tear through their frames. This was the second-piece of the two part alarm system. As the formation stood, I, the real Yondaime, had been firing the arrows and judging my opponent all along from the upper left quadrant. All that I learned about the opponent had been disseminated amongst the group and, given our instrinic bond, they knew what to expect. To my right was an idle Golem and behind him was his counterpart, forming handseals. They were effectively destroyed by my opponent's assault and their bodies simply melted to the ground.

Behind me was my Kage Bunshin, the duplicate who upon being dispersed revealed to me that my opponent was actually behind us confirming his position while I attentively watched his "image". The clone's dispersal, and thus the "alarm" that would prompt my instinct to evade, notably came before the exploding tag had finished it's countdown... and while my opponent was apparently still running.

After releasing the arrow, that Aspect of Yondaime would draw another armed arrow while maintaining an affixed eye on the opponent's image, which presented itself every so often between the gaps in the trees.

The image that intended to distract me from the real deal, the one that I had been following, was negligible at this point; I knew where he was -- the question was, how did he get there? With no time to spare on thought, I quickly spun to evade the kunai that ripped through my Kage Bunshin. This left me slightly to the (right) side of the clone's former position and advantageously behind a veil of smoke. I didn't know where the mysterious figure was precisely but that didn't matter. My interest lied elsewhere. The arrow that I had drawn earlier would be nocked and fired during the evasive spin, in a half a second; a speed that no normal man could ever hope to react toward. However, I was already under the impression that I was dealing with much more than a normal man.

During the half second that I had fired my arrow chakra had surged throughout my entire body and, upon the arrow's release, my body would lift into the air at an angle that sought to further distance me from my opponent. The ground below me quaked and dust fluttered into the air due to my sudden propulsion, which carried me up to the height of the tree canopy (20 meters high) at speeds double that of a normal shinobi. Once I'd reached the apex of my ascent, at approximately 20 meters up and away from the mysterious figure, I freed my hands of my bow and glared down at him from my elevated position.

50 lbs. Shortbow
The 50 lbs. short-bow has a default firing range of 55 meters; this range is lowered by 50% when the user fires while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements. The bow has a default nock and fire rate of 1 arrow per every 2 seconds, and discharges said projectile faster than its Longbow counterpart.

Tier 1 - Warmonger: The Archer has become so adept at the skill of archery that his aim stays true throughout any onslaught. The Archer can now fire any bow while moving without suffering a range penalty.

Tier 2 - Warlord: The Archery has launched arrows from a bow so many times that the process of doing so has become as intuitive as breathing. The default nock and fire rate for all bows is lowered by one second. This skill cannot be used with crossbows.

While Danger Close is arguably the most simplistic of all the Watcher techniques, that does not mean that it is the weakest. To the contrary, it is actually one of the most useful techniques an archer can have, as its primary function is to defend oneself against close-range fighters, the natural bane of all archers. After repeating the same nock and fire motions hundreds, if not thousands of times, an archer possesses the ability to briefly move purely through reflex and instinct, firing off a hastily aimed shot twice as fast as normal.

Note: The user nocks an arrow, aims, and fires one shot in half the time it normally takes them to do so. This ability can only be used once per thread.

While in flight, the user moves at x2 the speed of your average shinobi. Likewise, users can perform other jutsu while this technique is active.

The mans cleverness had been truly admirable, considernig that, he used the enviornment around him as 'cues' to deduce the position of his enemy which resulted in him avoiding Chae's chakra consumed shuriken with a simply spin. Undoubtedly surprised, Chae grinned beneath the confines of his steel face mask after seeing a level of reflexes and tactfulness that he considered to be long lost amongst the recent generation of shinobi. But, while the subject of reflexes, it'd been because of Chae's own (though increased through chakra-based means) that he'd been able to react to his opponent's abruptly fired arrow, one that would've easily taken out a mane with mediocre senses.

With his reflexes increased five-fold, his senses remained wide open as his body remained poised to attack and react to any and everything, namely with a simple bent in his knees coupled with a small pressure beneath his feet.

Having already poised himself to move the moment both shuriken were relinquished from his grip, a simple forward lean and push agaisnt the earth vehemently launched him across the land where his only remaining hand reached out to grab the man that, out of nowhere, just uplifted from the ground itself. As if by some stroke of misfortune, even with Chae's speed, he missed that opportunity by a handful of inches. Realizing he missed his chance, he managed to cease his movements directly below the rising man where he looked up and observed his seemingly supernatural ability.

"Impossible?! Since when has a shinobi mastered the art of 'flying' or even began to study it for that matter. Who ARE you?! "

Surprised and nervously impressed, Chae kept his wits about him and his senses wide open with a loose body that'd been ready for immediate movement. Basking in the man's never before seen ability, Chae realized that if not for the trees that could aid his ascension (presuming he'd even use them as an instrument), there'd been no way he could've reached a man that could willfully carry himself to heights no man could possibly reach.

The horrifying instance that had occurred replayed in the annals of my mind.  His image, most notably that eerie mask he wore, appeared through the smoke in a flash that was very unsettling.  I was almost sure my plan was going to fail but in a fortunate turn of events I had succeeded.  From my extended distance I stared down at my opponent who was once again unfathomably close, especially considering the speed that I moved, and though I kept my poise I was still a bit unnerved.

I didn't know where the mysterious figure was precisely but that didn't matter. My interest lied elsewhere. The arrow that I had drawn earlier would be nocked and fired during the evasive spin, in a half a second; a speed that no normal man could ever hope to react toward. However, I was already under the impression that I was dealing with much more than a normal man.

His miraculous spawning from behind my squad of clones was beginning to get much clearer, and though I was left in the dark as to how this ability functioned I knew for certain that he possessed a raw speed unmatched by any shinobi I'd ever met -- and I had seen plenty.  Through my tracker his visage was definite and clear so while he spoke I gruelingly examined his aspect all the while gradually floating higher.  What I discovered was his person emanated the visible blue aura that represented his only Nature Transformation, Raiton, which crackled atop his outfit as well.  Was this his secret?

I was prepared to find out and in response to his inquiry, I stoically replied.

"What makes you think this is an appropriate time to ask questions, Raidanshaku (Lightning Baron)?"  



My eyes darted toward the trees on my right and then immediately back to the mysterious figure, though from my distance (now 25 meters up) I doubted he would notice this.

The image that intended to distract me from the real deal, the one that I had been following, was negligible at this point; I knew where he was... he arrow that I had drawn earlier would be nocked and fired during the evasive spin, in a half a second.... During the half second that I had fired my arrow chakra had surged throughout my entire body and, upon the arrow's release, my body would lift into the air at an angle that sought to further distance me from my opponent.

The ground below me quaked and dust fluttered into the air due to my sudden propulsion, which carried me up to the height of the tree canopy (20 meters high) at speeds double that of a normal shinobi. Once I'd reached the apex of my ascent, at approximately 20 meters up and away from the mysterious figure.

With that in mind, he fired his bow approximately 20 meters away so that the arrow would land against a tree (on the face opposite from where the man was running for concealment) and begin it's slow countdown.

Chae's 'self' which turned out to be his afterimage, fizzled in the explosion as it continued forward, however, Chae himself had been long gone before its ignition

Suddenly, left of the mysterious figure, an explosion (5 meter diameter) would erupt from five meters within the dense forestry, whose contents would violently spill into the clearing that my opponent stood in,  Burning trees that stood over 60 feet tall, wooden shrapnel, and sediment would stir raucously and potentially harm my opponent.  As soon as the explosion let off, and I was sure my opponent would be preoccupied, I pushed myself another 10 meters into the air at double my normal running speed.  Even so I attentively watched from my elevated position, taking into account my opponent and the surrounding area.

Jinton: Hishou (Dust Release: Flight) continued [Low]

[Chae]

While his response was immediate, his tone was overly bland, almost as though the man before him purposely kept a poker-face. Although Chae hadn’t fully appreciated his answer, he knew that it carried an unassailable truth. Nevertheless, once his opponent voice his sour words, it only cemented Chae's readiness to continue his pursuit.

Unfortunatley, his readiness had been short lived as an unexpected explosion rocked the earth right next to him. Caught inside its wave of destruction, Chae's body was aimlessly thrown into the trees in the opposite direction, cmopletely unconscious upon impact. With his iconic armour broken and bone & flesh battered and torn, he'd laid as a bloody mess unaware of anything that occurred thereafter for quite some time. It'd been a while since he faced against an opponent so strategic. In a weird way, he enjoyed it.

I reckoned most men would find some sense of gratification with the demise of their enemies but I felt no such fulfillment, my stale expression was a testament to this.  In truth my aim in pursuing the Yonbi had been to obtain power to further my goals, and though I had not found the fabled beast I had discovered power.  My body cautiously lowered itself to the ground below, the immediate forestry draped in flames and smoke.  Once grounded I searched rigorously for the mysterious man, whose own power merited further examination.  It was clear that whoever his auspices were, they knew nothing of the rarity they housed or else they would have protected it diligently.

After a brief period of sifting through the wreckage I eventually found my trophy, haggard and beaten from within a section of agitated forestry.  His armor and mask had been severely damaged as a result of the explosion, the latter even revealing a portion of his face.  Unmoved, I surveyed him briefly before grasping him by the collar and hoisting him over my shoulder to return to the clearing.  I remembered his descent down the mountain, and more importantly, the fact that he'd stored a person somewhere along the path.  Surging chakra through my vessel once more, I took to the sky once more with the intention to further survey what my opponent had left for himself.

After flying for some distance, I discovered a body lying in the relative area that I originally spotted the mysterious figure.  Lowering myself to the body revealed it to be a pertinent figure int he shinobi community.  It was the Hidden Cloud Village's leader.  Ironically, the man I faced seemed to be a much better candidate for such a position and it was apparent he felt the same.  For some reason I felt compelled to take him along with me as well and so I formed a single handseal that would resurrect my double from earlier.

"Take him," I demanded before setting off to the sky with the Lightning Baron across my shoulder.  The clone would acquire the Raikage's cadaver and follow my lead until the mountain was only a memory.  I hadn't found the Yonbi but I had found power.
