Izuki is one of those quirky beauties you find only once in a lifetime. She's not particularly drop-dead gorgeous, or for that matter, much to look at at all, but she's decent, for a blind girl. She usually has her hair pulled back into a bun, even though every now and then she'll let it down to hang to her shoulder blades. Although it can grow to an ungodly length if she let it grow out. You wouldn't know she was blind at first, because her eyes are not white or clouded over. They're a normal light blue. What gives it away is her inability to look anyone in the face, or the blankness in her expression.
The femme is kind of short for her age and as such, her weight makes her seem a bit pudgy, but that's because she hasn't exercised beyond walking from place to place. She's also lightly tanned from her travels and as such, her skin has a healthy glow to it [underneath the layers of dirt, she doesn't bathe regularly on the road. She'd clean up pretty nicely, though.] usually, she's wearing a kimono, but when she gets into fights, she usually lets the top half shrug off her shoulders to expose her breasts, which are wrapped in a cotton bandage as though she were embarrassed of her cleavage and wanted to pretend she was flat-chested. Which, this is actually true, but also because fighting with her breasts wrapped makes it easier for her to move. She also usually wears a pair of brown leather sandals.
Izuki is, if anything, a peculiar woman to get to know. She's one of those characters that stands successfully in the grey area between good and evil. At her base, she is a strongly independent person, in spite of her disability. She stands alone most of the time, wandering wherever the wind takes her and taking no shit from anyone, including her own family. Izuki is not altogether good, either. Should you stand in her way, she'll have no qualms about cutting you down to size. In fact, she's kind of a bully when it comes to socializing. It starts with her cruel sense of humor and the lack of remorse for her actions.
At the same time, she has been known to show acts of the most sublime kindness... when it suits her fancy. The point is, you shouldn't try to force anything on her because in that case, she will fight you every step of the way. If you stand back and leave her to her own devices, she may surprise you. It all depends on how she's been treated, honestly. She can be nice, although she's most likely to be cruel no matter how you treat her, but if you treat her with respect, she'll reciprocate.
Evil? Not exactly. Selfish? Bingo. Izuki would rather do something that will benefit only herself, rather than act out of the kindness of her heart. She comes off as a slippery coward, but she's just a strong believer in looking out for numero uno, and for that reason, she would rather be alone than weigh herself down in a village. She knows her behavior would not be tolerated and if they ever got in a spot of trouble, she'd be called a traitor for splitting faster than a fat girl chasing a donut truck. She'd rather avoid the sticky situation altogether and live her life unfettered by "bonds" or obligations to others.
That's not to say she would be completely opposed to settling, but she would have to have a VERY good reason for doing so, and for sticking around through the thick and thin. For example, if this battered, sarcastic bitch could find love. Otherwise, she's about as cuddly as a saw blade and her personality can come off as being abrasive at times. She may be blind, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't be interested in biting you a new one if you decided to treat her like she was anything less than a capable individual.
Izuki's birth was unorthodox at best. She didn't really have much of a home life, except to be raised at her father's estate in Konoha. She was living a sheltered life up until she got sick of it and decided to act. When she left, she ran away from not only the estate, but the land of fire in general.
Because of her blindness, Izuki was coddled as a toddler. She was treated like a fragile glass flower, that would break if she was put under too much stress. However, Izuki did not enjoy this at all because she knew she was capable of so much more than her parents and guardians allowed. So, she pooled together some of her parents money at the age of 12, and paid the fees to hire a ninja to assassinate them. Spitefully, she packed up her belongings and was gone from the estate before the deed was finished. Perhaps it was more a need to be away from the bloodshed than it was a desire to be away from them. She didn't want to have qualms or regrets about what she'd done, and being there would have done so.
Her life after that was pretty straightforward. She traveled around until she found someone willing to teach her some basic techniques for protecting herself from bandits. Once the training was over, she continued onwards with her life, learning more and more about the ninja villages and enjoying what she heard. She's wanted to join one of them, more for the power she could obtain, rather than the sense of companionship that being apart of a village could grant her. However, when she started searching for a way in, she was kicked out. Most of the ninja she talked to thought her disability was just that, a disability. Not many of them took her seriously, and when they did find out she was serious, they laughed at her.
Burning with resentment, she disappeared off the radar for a few years before she resurfaced, her determination to learn of her chakra release redoubled when she found out she DID have a ninja gift. Although her loyalty factor is still lower than it probably should be as a ninja. Still, she's got a bit of spunk if she's come this far without giving up.
