Action | Thought | "Speech"The blind girl had been half-expecting something of that ilk to happen, although she was in no position to dodge or fight back and she knew this. She was actually grateful for the hand that flew out to catch her from falling forwards though, no matter the motive. The girl laughed quite a bit to herself, even though her lower back now ached a bit. "Oh, congratulations. I took you for a bully the moment I heard words coming out of your mouth, but attempting to kick a blind girl, who can't even defend herself at the moment, into the dirt? You must be so proud. What, is this village so desperate for decent ninja that they're taking in any degenerate that happens to chance by these days? If so, it loos like they hit the jackpot with you. Well done, really." Holding up her hands, she clapped slowly a few times. Niko sniffed as though he were agreeing to what his master said and the pair of them continued following Kaze along the road, noting sparing a moment to look over their shoulders at Tsu.
"Izu, so these crimes. Mind telling me what you mean?"
Well, she couldn't very well tell either of them the truth, or at least not all of it. She also knew she was a horrible liar, so she decided on a happy medium, a half-truth. "My parents were killed by some thug ninja when I was 12. I didn't necessarily want to be passed around my other family members, or placed in the leaf orphanage so I ran away. I guess the convenience of my disappearance the night of the incident turned me into a suspect. Either that, or they're just desperate to find me because I'm blind. I have no intention of going back there just to be treated like a waste of space, so when I found out I was being followed, I ran all the harder. I managed to disappear for seven years, if that means anything. I eventually decided that I would try to rejoin a different village, one that wouldn't treat me any differently than any other ninja, and perhaps help me hone my skills. So, I made the journey towards Kusagakure, because it's the village my mother was from. I can't read road signs, so I just followed the weather patterns to find my way. Niko's nose has helped a lot."
It wasn't a lie. Everything she had said was true. It was what she wasn't telling them, that's where the lie rested. Like she didn't tell them she'd actually paid for the thugs to kill her parents, but she had let on to why she would have done such a thing. They treated her like a porcelain doll- to be seen and appreciated, but never heard. Never alone. Never actually paid attention to. Her life had been laid out for her every day and she had eventually grown tired of such a tight leash. Was it something worth murder over? Perhaps not, but running away without covering her tracks would be meaningless. Her parents would have lead the search party themselves and she'd be caught again, punished even for speaking or acting out. Not many people would understand that, because she knew they saw her just as her parents did- not a strong, independent young woman, but a broken bird ready to flop to the ground at any moment, and those who saw usually tried desperately to stop her from falling, when all she really wanted was to fly.
She walked alongside Niko for the rest of the journey in brooding silence, her mind running through all of these things and much more.
