Action | Thought | "Speech"That day was a mild day, the sun glared down on the beaten path, trying it's hardest to make everyone suffer, while the wind took pity on the creatures going about their business and saw fit the grant them a cool breeze. The tall grass growing on either side of the road shivered and danced in it's wake and gave a weary traveler some relief. This traveler was not alone, no. Ahead of her (alas, it WAS a girl for it was hard to ignore the curvature of her figure even through a thick cloak) ran a heavily furred malamute who was about as large as a small pony. The dog was sniffing out everything and occasionally, he would stop, turn back, and bark a deep warning to his mistress. Upon such times, the girl would stop and set her stick to the ground, knocking against the dirt until she found the hole, or the ledge or the step or whatever it was that he had warned her about, and could carefully scramble down, through, or around it. You see, even as the day was beautiful, the girl could not see any of it. Her world, as it has always been, was blind.
Despite this, she did not seem to have much of a problem getting around. She had long since accepted her blindness as a part of who she was, although she did not like being seen as disabled, even though she was. She had had quite enough of people and as a result her only companion now was her dog, Niko. The female placed her hand on his head to scratch behind his ears when she caught up to him and the dog responded by licking her hand. A tiny laugh escaped her throat as his tongue tickled her fingers and she lifted her hand out of the way. The laughter died quickly though as she wondered, not for the first time, where exactly she was. Not being able to see her surroundings was a lot more hindering than she liked to let on. She knew by the temperature that they were somewhere near the middle of the map, but beyond that, she knew nothing. Partially because she could not see a map to gather her bearings in the first place. To the girl, there was nothing beyond what she could sense was around her right now, and that was all there was. Blind Traveling was exhilarating, as well as terrifying in it's own right. She knew not whether she was walking into danger, or if she was well and truly lost, but she knew that Niko would not allow her to cone to harm and so she trusted him to guide her and was at peace for the time being.
That isn't to say that the femme would be taken off-guard by any surprise attacks. She never forgot the reason behind her travels, the fact that this was not a pleasure cruise, but an elaborate runaway scheme seven years in the making. She was not about to let herself fall into any traps without at least fighting back, and fight back she could. She was not called the Blind Dragon for nothing, after all. It was with caution that she set out once more, her hand now resting on Niko's back as the dog picked up on her shift in moods and stuck close to her side this time. He did give her an inquisitive look, one that he knew she would not be able to respond to.
Her lack of sight meant that her other senses were keener than normal, because the human mind depended too much on sight rather than any other sense. Thus, when she heard someone coming someways off, the grinding of cart wheels and the beats of a horse's hooves, she pulled Niko to the side of the road to hide in the grass and pray they were hidden well enough to be passed by undetected.
