A Pot Luck Extraviganza

[Chomachi Akimichi]

It was true that in the Village Hidden in the Leaves that there was a clan that partook of meals with such fervor that they had developed jutsu to help manage their weight. Chomachi Akimichi was of such a clan. Because of this he wore the symbol for food proudly upon his chest. Though there jutsu were indeed powerful and their love for food unsatisfiable every year the clans members would take a day to just well eat and have fun. It was at first a family gathering, then it expanded the clan, but much like the expansion jutsu they utilized it would grow into a very public event with in Konoha. People could come and go but their was one rule everyone had to make a dish and bring it with them to this event that had thus turned into something of a cookout fair.

The scents of soups, chili's, grilled meats, boiled vegetables, and just food en general could be smelled throughout the area in which the event was held. Chomachi in order to gain entrance had brought in a dish he had deemed monkey brains and lizard guts. Truth was however the dish contained neither of the named organs that it was named after. It was a dish filled with seasoned ground beef, diced tomatoes, elbow noodles, beans, and cheese. The cheese melted into the dish dulled the spices so that they would not overwhelm those who tried it but allowed that kick of chili flavor that made the dish so loved by the genin. It was healthy and hearty like most other Akimichi dishes. Do to how it was made he would end up bringing it in a twenty quart pan. A pan that would be set on one of the several lines of tables that stretched for blocks on end.

Paper plates and silverware was everywhere in order to provide easy access. With crowds of people meandering about Chomachi Akimichi would have already dished himself some of his own food before wandering about the grounds in order to load up his plate. It was a good day as one could sit back and watch people perform fire techniques into the sky in order to cook kabobs on the spot. It was right where an Akimichi clan member would want to be.
