The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
This means that many of the system specifics are in the process of change, as are staff positions, boards, and the overall look and feel of the site. In this time of adjustment, the community is capable of changing and growing as well, and because of that, I see no reason to hide the process of forming and finalizing things on site. Anyone who can read this is a part of our rebuilding; your thoughts, opinions, contributions, time, and attention are all helpful and welcome.
The C-Box is open, and various staff members will be in and out of it as we work.
There will be additional updates as we near completion.
To be frank, I would like an authentic experience of life in the Naruto universe. Many Naruto boards feel deliberately manufactured to surround spending your day training and eventually waiting for some conflict. There is a lack of politics, build-up to what happens or even internal affairs that force Kage to address the many issues in their Villages. There is also a lack of heritage and history in many of these boards. What NRP needs to bring is an authentic experience of Naruto, an authentic experience of the Naruto world so WE, the players, can actually indulge in our need to escape and write.
I feel that you have already started to achieve that by showing the history of Kirigakure’s Kages, as well as listing descriptions about the gate and so forth. And even beyond that, the history of the Villages are so interesting that the grounds for more history to be created through roleplay is set. Things like this are needed to reinforce the authenticity of life in a Naruto-themed world. So I can only say do more of that as it inspires players like myself to look into the history and develop it. As far as the systems go I trust you to create something rounded, as I am not too knowledgeable on how they work. But, as a whole, I look forward to an authentic and mature Naruto experience that we can all get stuck into.
Yoshiaki and myself discussed the above point on skype, so i'm posting here just so that its known: i totally agree with that desire. I want to see something authentically Naruto as well, something that can focus on the story, can incorporate politics, can incorporate virtually any roleplay type and theme naturally as a part of the world progression without losing the sense of being all about cool fights and demon possessed ninja and spitting weird stuff at teenagers.
I want to know what all of you think as well, so anyone who wants to post anything, share your feelings Pow-Wow style. Lets take the time to build something incredible.
Just a quick update as real life calms down; my Black History Month celebrations have been awesome.
Looking to supplement the mod team as I begin the final edits that will get the site into 'launchable' mode. People with a good head for technique creation (i.e. balance and fairness), and those willing to help with the nitty gritty work of editing/writing things should let me know. The more work I have to do without help, the longer it's going to take. Believe it.
