NRP uses a numerical chakra system to track how often (and how many) special techniques can be used before a character exhausts themselves. (See Conditions and Damage)
For simplicity's sake, we do not use a separate Stamina system to measure Taijutsu. Players can choose to substitute the term "stamina" for "chakra" while in character but, mechanically, jutsu and martial arts draw from the same pool of energy.◀ Chakra Costs
The chakra costs to perform jutsu are standardized based on jutsu rank. That is, regardless of whether you’re using Suiton ninjutsu or the Sharingan, the cost of a C-rank jutsu will always follow the formulas listed below.
Given the variety of jutsu available, we distinguish between three types of chakra cost: Standard, Multi-cost, and Sustained.
Jutsu and items that use chakra will have their type of chakra cost listed in their description.{Standard}The Standard chakra cost of all jutsu on NRP depends on the technique's rank.
Most abilities that involve a single action (ex. shooting a single fireball, throwing a specific style taijutsu strike, etc) will only require their standard cost when used.
These costs are:D-Rank: 10
C-Rank: 20
B-Rank: 40
A-Rank: 80
S-Rank: 160{Multi}Multi costs apply to techniques that involve several actions or multiple parts (ex. launching a volley of fireballs, or stringing a sequence of punches and kicks from a special brand of taijutsu)
These costs are:D-Rank: 2 per action
C-Rank: 4 per action
B-Rank: 8 per action
A-Rank: 16 per action
S-Rank: 32 per action{Sustained}Sustained costs apply to techniques that require a steady inflow of chakra to remain effective (ex. dōjutsu, puppetry, controlling a swarm of bugs, etc.)
These techniques use a standard cost to activate, and are charged a cost one tier below their rank until they are deactivated or considered complete.
The costs to sustain are are:D-Rank: 10 to activate, 5 to sustain.
C-Rank: 20 to activate, 10 to sustain.
B-Rank: 40 to activate, 20 to sustain.
A-Rank: 80 to activate, 40 to sustain.
S-Rank: 160 to activate, 80 to sustain.◀ Learning Jutsu
The cost to learn a jutsu using your EXP is determined by the Standard cost of the technique.
That means a D-Rank jutsu costs 10 Chakra to use and 10 EXP to learn. The same goes for C-Rank and beyond.
If a technique can be relearned, that simply means you're paying the same standard cost more than once.
