Description: Kogasu is a katana, a finely crafted sword. It's blade is of two layers of steel, like most katana; flexible, low-carbon steel at the center, with brittle, razor sharp high-carbon steel around it. The hilt is crafted of ebony wood surrounding a core of hard, deer ivory, making the hilt almost impossible to break through normal means. Silver kanji are crafted into the hilt, bearing the name Kogasu. This is Nagato's main weapon. Kogasu is the attack weapon, for the mean strikes and decapitations, and is meant more for more open combat, like while outside and in open or spartan rooms.Meramera

Range: 0-15 meters.
Special: C Rank - severely heats up blade, able to cut through stone, bone, and wood with ease. B Rank - heats up blade to the point of it catching fire, can release arcs of flame traveling up to 5 meters. A Rank - the blade catches a roaring flame across it, can release 15 meter arcs of flame, can virtually cut through anything. Chakra drain is at a constant rate equivalent to the technique's level.
Description: Kogasu, Nagato's main weapon, has the special ability to be a place for Nagato to channel his chakra. By channeling katon chakra into the blade, it will heat up radically, increasing it's cutting power. It damages flesh like a hot knife through butter, melting skin, searing bone, and scorching muscle and fat. When this ability is used, you can see a bit of a reddish-yellow tint that seems to glow from the steel. Careful or observant ninja can easily spot this.

Range: B Rank - 15 meters wide, 1 meter in length, 5 meters tall. A Rank - 25 meters wide, 5 meters in length, 10 meters tall.
Special: B rank flames can evaporate D rank suiton jutsu launched directly into the flame, and melt up to C rank doton techniques. A rank flames can evaporate C rank and under suiton jutsu, and melt up to B rank doton techniques. Fuuton jutsu makes the flame grow, allowing each rank to melt or evaporate one level higher.
Description: With a sweep of the blade, Nagato can unleash a wide wall wall of flame as protection against attacks and enemies. He can use this to protect himself and his teammates, as well as stop advances. The flames stay stationary, but may catch the environment on fire.
