The tension permeating from the hundreds that occupied the city was almost palpable, setting the stage for the Mizukage's deliverance. They'd fought off some much needed sleep for this, and he planned on making it far more worth their time than any of them could've expected.
To say that the security around the city's square was suffocating would be an understatement. High-ranking shinobi lined the roofs of the village, while others lurked among the shadows and the crowd itself. Any attempt at Hiromasa's life would've been nothing short of a suicide mission, despite the fact he'd asked for a light detail. He was among his people - here, he feared nothing spare for fear itself.
"Children of Kirigakure," his voice boomed throughout the entire village like thunder, amplified almost tenfold by the carefully planted speakers. "On this day, we have been wronged! Konohagakure has once again, as they have in the past, crossed an unforgivable line! I will not play coy - I am well aware of the rumors, and I am here to confirm them! An ambassador from Konohagakure has, and with little to no conscious, made an attempt on my life."
A sudden burst of whispers spread through the crowd like wildfire, no doubt astonished such a horrendous rumor could be fact.
"Such treachery shall not go without a response." Hiromasa waited, testing the resolve of his people. The whispers had turned into deep mumbling, which eventually evolved into a subtle chorus of agreement. The Mizukage, emblazoned by this new found resolved, continued with a fiery fervor. "Konohagakure shall judged and severely punished for their crimes! When the sun rises upon the scattered ruins of the Leaf, there shall be none that dare question the might of the mist -- let their screams and the dying cries of their women and children be testament to our unbridled power."
"Vengeance!" Throwing his fist into the air, an earth-shaking cry erupted from the formerly silent populace. "Leave none in our wake!"
And with that, a new era had dawned upon man.
This will be the official war mission thread. Those hoping to participate in this event need to post in here first (hearing the speech and such, thank you), at least once. From there, you'll have access to a handful of unique missions.
It should be noted that due to the nature of this event, all missions will require death enabled threads. If you don't want to take the chance at losing your character, don't post here taking a mission. There won't be an ounce of leniency shown, so don't expect it.
