[ST1 - R4] Grand Finals: Apple vs. Testament

the Arena

The battlefield that this round of the tournament shall take place on is grassy, circular arena with a diameter of 200 meters, with walls that are 100 meters high and lined with various sorts of trees; a small, shallow river (three feet deep; ten feet wide) cuts this arena in half. Opponents shall start off 20 meters away from each other during the first round of posting (introductory). You may not have jutsu prepared during your introductory posts, and may not attack until the second round of posting has begun (i.e both of you have posted intros). Apple posts first.

Neither my mind nor movements could have stopped me from being here today. I wasn’t exactly a fan of fighting but I was seemingly drawn to this- The final match. Having been claimed victor of all my matches up until now the competition seemed to come to a halt as the two of us surely now stood parallel to eachother on this field. Of course- I was aware of the dangers that faced me when joining this round- I knew what I’d signed myself up to, and yet I still went on with it. I must be pretty badass, right?

Standing a total of twenty meters away I’d, looking at my opponent, give him a grin as I’d say;

”Good luck.”

With my arms gently held around the middle of my torso- I was ready.

There he stood, regarding the curvaceous kunoichi through eyes brimming with anticipation and pinpoint awareness. He knew the amount of chromosomes one had was in no way related to their martial prowess and while some might have counted this battle over before it began, wisdom prevailed in Satsui's mind. This woman had swept away her competition from the beginning of this tournament and not taking that fact seriously could quickly become Satsui's undoing. Both of them knew what was at stake and they were both ready to do whatever they had to in order to accomplish their goals. Still, at the end of the day, it would be Satsui who stood as the victor over all so where he would go and what he would do after that was anyone's guess. This one was a talker just as the last two had been and he would remain silent in keeping with his code. He'd committed the terrain to memory prior to her greeting and was in the process of inducting her breathing habits, speech patterns, eye movements, and body language and motions into his subconscious. She was, by far, the best looking opponent he could have hoped for and he had no qualms about studying her intimately.

With the distance between us a total of 20 meters, I wasn’t too sure if this was a good amount as of now- But with my hands swiftly forming the seals required for a D ranked technique I was on my way to hopefully winning this fight, and as I accessed my chakra, a thick, inky smoke would seem to billow from my body and raise in to the sky above, clouding the ceiling with whatever I had summoned forth upon the battleground- But the effects wouldn’t be seen just yet. With my fake crimson eyes staring intently at my foe I’d be on guard for any kind of movement that he might attempt- I wasn’t to be taken lightly, surely. Of course all through this competition I was sure that a few guys had been more interested in checking out my ass rather than fighting seriously but perhaps this fight would be different. Maybe.

Standing in place at 20 meters away, I’d then swiftly after finishing the seals for my suiton technique, body flicker back a further 20 meters, setting our distance at a steady 40 meters away, as I then halted my movements, standing straight as I stared onwards at my opponent, the tracker in my right eye allowing me heightened vision to allow me to see closer and keep track of what he was doing. I was ready for anything.

In this case, the user summons forth flammable oil so that they can use this in conjunction with other jutsu. After forming the necessary hand seals, a black mist will emit from the user’s body and will rise into the sky. In the next turn, black clouds will form, releasing an intense, heavy flammable rain of oil onto one’s targets.

Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique)

Special: Shunshin no Jutsu is a high-speed movement in which the user moves in a linear fashion from one point to another. Usually facilitated with some sort of distraction (smoke bomb, explosion, or something of that nature to obscure one's vision), the user of the Shunshin no Jutsu can, in some cases, appear to have simply teleported from one location to another. Shunshin no Jutsu can be used once per thread, plus once more each time it is retrained.
Description: Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic ninjutsu technique used across the shinobi world by all, ranging from the most basic shinobi to the legends of lore. Considered is a high-speed movement technique, it simple combines high mobility with a distraction to give off the appearance of vanishing - to an observer caught in the optical illusion, it appears as if the user has teleported. This allows the user to escape or attack suddenly, should they need to.
Domain: Shunshin - Universal Ninjutsu.

Shunshin-Kakezori (Retracting Flicker)

Type: Passive / Ninjutsu / High-Speed Movement

Special: Gives the user the option to perform Shunshin backwards.
Description: Although Shunshin is normally executed in a linear fashion towards the direction the user is facing, with enough training, the user is able to move perfectly opposite to wherever it is they are looking - that is, a backwards Body Flicker. Its usefulness is limitless, and carry the same rules as the parent technique.

As if they were having twin portions of the same thought, Satsui's hands came together just as his opponents lithe fingers began to cast her own kata. As the strange substance exited the woman's body and choked out the light of the horizon there was no discernible look of fear or apprehension in Satsui's eyes. He began moving, slowly at first, gaining speed after each step as he kept his eyes locked on his target. A clone would come into existence to his immediate rear and when they came five meters of Areru the duty fell to Satsui to hurl a kunai at the woman's midsection. Normally, light might have reflected from the tether which fluttered behind it but the initial effects of the woman's jutsu concealed it's presence. At the end of the line, about seven feet back, a lone piece of parchment was primed and ready to end the fight.

Raiton Bunshin no Jutsu (Shocking Clone Technique)

Chakra: Mid
Special: Up to one clone can be made at a time, plus one more each time retrained. Being elementally based, this clone can use any c-ranked or lower raiton techniques the user knows. Can be relearned up to 4 times for a maximum of 5 clones created.
Description: With this technique, the Raiton user is able to call upon aid from a perfect copy of themselves. Comprised purely of lightning, this clone retains the user movement speed and strength. While easily capable of being use for offensive means, the raiton bunshin also makes for an equally solid defense due to its ability to harness raiton-based techniques.

2A: No participant will be allowed to invest any of their 300 EXP into Shunshin, Shunpo, or any of the techniques derived from either of those two base techniques.

I'd assume that with the use of already existing characters, and the limit of shunshin being unable to be used having only been spoken about during the first, second and third round, meaning that we weren't allowed to pour EXP in to shunshin during that time in order to prevent us shabang dodging everything. I haven't heard anything about being unable to use it in this round myself, so can we get this clarified before I go ahead to make my post?

Perhaps, I should have been concerned due to the fact that my shunshin hadn’t worked for some strange, OOC reason, but I wasn’t too worried as, always, I was the Queen of alteration and as I found my foe covering the distance towards me, all I’d have to do was keep my eyes focused on him and form a single seal- I knew what I was going to do, and to say the least it was a cheap shot but then again, it couldn’t be helped, right? I didn’t really feel like dying in this competition.

A single seal formed after having long finished the seals for my suiton technique, comparing to whatever work his own hands were still doing [OOC: C-Ranked technique = More seals. Since I hadn't moved, I have extra time to react in the space between when I'd have finished sealing and you'd have finished yourself, if that makes sense.] and my eyes still staring intently at his own as he neared and entered the range of 10 meters that this technique so brilliantly worked in- taking note that I’d noticed him either keeping an eye on me or looking me up, this wouldn’t go to fail. Before he even had the chance to take the next step, he’d be frozen in place as his run would be cut short, surely sending him flying towards the ground, his muscles and arms being unable to move thus preventing him from taking any further measures which could be played against me. My movements were quick; After all- A D-Ranked technique was pips to create, and this technique? Only a single seal was needed and whatever technique he had been previously channeling would be halted. Taking in to consideration that he’d been looking at me as he’d ran and my eyes parallel to his own in that sense, capturing him would be of no problem. Distance was no problem either; My tracker activated, I’d found his eyes clearly.

..And then it rained..

After a single seal is formed, the user must make be able to see the target they wish to bind; if eye contact with one another is establish, the bind is instant. Otherwise, the ANBU will struggle to take over the opponent's chakra with their own. With the person frozen in place, the ninja can either take the opportunity to attack or to retreat.

So, this is going to be iffy at best but I want to try it as I feel it has validity in its own right. This is for explanation purposes so I don't have to explain it again IC. As the seal speed is 0.5 seconds per kata, a C Rank jutsu (namely Raiton Bunshin) would take approximately three seconds at the most to cast. The average top human running is speed lingers at about 20 miles per hour over short distances but assuming shinobi can outclass normal RL people, you have to consider that a shinobi could move over 20 mph or 8.94 meters per second. Since, it is obvious that given those calculations, Satsui could have covered the complete distance between Apple and himself in 3 seconds, had he been moving at top speed, I'd like to argue that my wording gives enough validity to the fact that he didn't enter the 10 meter range of Areru's ANBU technique until after he'd completed his original action, i.e., spawning the clone.

He began moving, slowly at first, gaining speed after each step as he kept his eyes locked on his target. A clone would come into existence to his immediate rear and when they came five meters of Areru the duty fell to Satsui to hurl a kunai at the woman's midsection.

Satsui had fortunately been moving slowly enough to keep himself out of the "killswitch zone" that the woman's jutsu provided, at least until after his clone was created, however he was incapacitated shortly thereafter. He was robbed of the opportunity to throw the kunai with the pretreated grip but his clone continued to act as if their plan was still in effect. The clones hands became a blur of motion just before a bright light exploded forth from its body, blinding any within the appropriate distance. The flash would make it impossible for the woman to see; the clone, who'd begun weaving off to the left when casting its jutsu, sprung back to the right rear so that it couldn't be targeted in the meantime. As it sprinted along, at full speed, it made motions to cast a second jutsu but would keep Satsui's paralyzed form in sight until such a time as it could liberate its creator from the bonds of Areru's technique.

2. Due to the speed you just stated yourself, Testament, when you were incapacitated your body would essentially just turn into a limp noodle. You're clearly running faster than 20 mph, so I'm sure you can imagine what just happened to your face, lol.

Had it not been for the fact that I myself was very familiar with the white glow that was currently surrounding the clone that he’d been created, I’d have found myself in quite a pickle- Mekurumeku, a raiton technique which I’d learned with my brother years ago was one I had in my own arsenal- And I knew how it worked. Standing eight meters away and my foe currently kissing the earth below us- (No doubt the poor guy would have probably faceplanted quite epicly, and the speed?! He’d have probably floored across a few meters due to the speed he’d been travelling at, making the poor guy even closer to me!) My distance to my real opponent shortened to a mere five meters he was so close, and yet I was at a disadvantage at the moment due to my hands being bound by the technique I was performing- However..

Anticipating the technique created by the clone itself and sharply closing my eyes, I’d find myself splendidly avoiding the threat, although opening my eyes once the light would have passed, I’d find my eyes blinded perhaps only scarcely due to the blast- But nonetheless unharmed.

[OOC: I was only eight meters away by the moment I paralyzed the real Satsui, however, assuring that you kept at the same speed you’d have travelled at previously you’d have easily passed me- And saying that you sprinted forwards at "Full speed" bolsters that idea, so I’m going to go ahead and assume that you ran past my character due to the fact that the amount of running that you state doing would be more than enough to cover eight meters!~]

Noticing that the dear clone had managed to rush past me, surely misjudging how close I was to the both of them, it was only expected with its owner being as useful as he was at the moment. With my hand still tightly sealed I’d then take advantage of this mistake and RUSH forwards in a grand manner as I’d then, with the clone behind me and unable to see what was happening due to his position- (Rushing in one direction.. I wasn’t aware that clones had eyes in the back of their heads!) covered the distance of five meters at the same sprinting speed which he himself had run at, my direction being linear and determined, I’d then as I came close to the my opponent, with my hand still sealed, cease my running as I came to a single meter away, raised my right leg up slightly and..

KICKED HIS HEAD IN!

Taijutsu.. wasn’t my prowess, but a kick to the head at the best to my ability, and the damage that he received whilst faceplanting (Had that alone not been enough, this would be the icing on the cake!)- and the fact that he was unable to move at the moment would surely result in one concussed chappie. Fail beneath my boots!

The clone's jutsu had been effective enough; blinding someone with such a cheap tactic wasn't something that happened too often within the higher tiers of shinobi battles but sometimes the unintended consequences worked just as well. Perhaps they were unintended for the female as the clone had achieved what it had been seeking. Its goal was never to blind Areru, only to distract and misdirect her vision so that it could move unseen.

The flash would make it impossible for the woman to see; the clone, who'd begun weaving off to the left when casting its jutsu, sprung back to the right rear so that it couldn't be targeted in the meantime.

Having darted out of her line of vision and moving diagonally away from her zone of focus [the real Satsui] the clone was entirely unnoticed as it moved along. Its direction was heading back towards the position the real Satsui had started from although its lateral movement wouldn't place it in the exact same spot. The clone noted that its master had been incapacitated when he'd come within ten meters of the voluptuous, buxom, lethal kunoichi so it stopped when it had increased the distance between itself and Satsui to eleven and one half meters.

Meanwhile...

Satsui was stuck and becoming less and less opposed to the idea of murdering his opponent. He thought that the last round of the tournament would be a grand display of prowess and strategy the likes of which had never been seen before. In the years since the last war he had advanced from the rank of the lowly Genin to that of Chuunin but he still felt as if his growth had yet to truly begin. He had hoped that his performance at this tournament might have given him enough experience to continue on with his Jonin exams but the level of competition hadn't been what he expected. Only the last two opponents had given him the feeling that his life was on the line which was something he believed to be necessary to advance ones potential. But, before he could even enjoy being in the finals, his gorgeous foe had done him in with some type of paralytic technique.

His body had locked up when he'd fallen which prevented him from completing his offensive but, by the same token, it activated his instincts that had been honed for times such as these. It is a known fact that human beings instinctually fear an injury to the head above all others and even fear can be a useful tool when harnessed properly. As Satsui's body became unresponsive, he knew at his core that something was happening and his body went into preparation mode. Starting from the head, as that was his animal instinct, Satsui's body released all the chakra it could in order to pull off a miracle. With more time there might have been a chance to focus on the torso or lower body but in the heat of the moment only the head was considered crucial. As a medical nin -in training- there were techniques Satsui had studied for just this occasion and the one being employed was known as In'yu Shômetsu.

The chakra being collected was meant to soften any blow that might result in grievous bodily injury to Satsui. As he fell to the ground it was actually his chest and abdomen that took the initial, and most jarring, blow but Satsui's face took the second and more prolonged encounter with the earth. His Battle Gear allowed him to displace enough of the first impact that no bones were broken or even sent out of socket which might have been a major concern without it. But the In'yu Shômetsu is what saved his face from become a smear of gristle and blood. As his head hit the ground he briefly thanked Jidaishishou for the fact that the terrain was soft and grassy but, at the speed his fall occurred, very little about it felt soft. He'd only been able to muster a D rank amount of chakra but it eased the burden as his face slid forcefully across the ground and then came to a halt five meters from Areru.

He watched helplessly as the woman approached still holding the single hand seal that he thought was probably responsible for his predicament. He could see her due to the way in which he'd fallen and subsequently slid; one hand had been mostly trapped underneath his body and the other was laying to his side and his head was upturned. He was actually perpendicular to her as she advanced, instead of laying head on, also largely due to momentum and gravity twisting his body after impact. She reduced the space between them to a single meter and Satsui would have laughed if he could have. This area was normally his to rule and he loved the infighter's advantage of overwhelming an opponent while destroying their sense of personal space. But today he would be the victim . . . . or so it seemed.

Cut To The Clone...

Being that it retained Satsui's speed of movemnt, the clone reached its destination just as Areru had come to within a meter of Satsui. It's casting was complete and its purpose would be acknowledged as ten miniature creations were spawned by its will just prior to the female preparing to stomp the younger fighter. The constructs resembled sparrows and were similar to their counterparts in both size and function. Their blueish tint seemed to bely their usefulness but they would be directed by an intellect greater than their animal brethren. The sparrows flew in groups, some aiming for the front of the body while others came in for a frontal assault. Five flew overhead, though not directly, but no shadows being present due to the jutsu the woman had used and these would attempt to zoom in a strike Areru in the center of the back, the center of well sculpted arse, in the middle of her shoulder blades, and coming in diagonally toward the back of each shoulder. The ones flying to the front would follow suit and attempt to strike her temples from diametrically opposed angles, the center of her chest, and finally one would fly toward the greatest cluster of nerves in her pelvic region. Even though the birds flew fast, the effort would have been wasted without a final act from Satsui. His hands were immobile but not useless. The one that was partially trapped under his body just so happened to be pointing directly at Areru's grounded foot and the other was pointed upward toward the center of her waist. Lightning shot out from both hands and sought to paralyze her, just as she had done to him, right before her foot began to descend toward Satsui's face.

In'yu Shômetsu (Yin Healing Wound Destruction)

Chakra: Low - Massive
Special: By anticipating damage, the user is capable of filling an area with healing chakra before taking a hit. Therefore, when the strike does occur, healing is already occurring before damage is taken. This allows for almost instant-healing of wounds. The larger and more complex the wound is, however, the more chakra is needed to heal it. User employs highest 'Shosen' rank in order to heal.
Description: Filling an area with Shosen-style chakra before taking damage, the user is capable of anticipating an assault and thus begin the healing process for a wound before actually receiving it. When the wound finally does occur, the advanced healing process rapidly regenerates the flesh of the wounded area, healing it before the eyes of the user and the opponent.

Jakura (Lightning Sparrow Cometh)

Type: Supplementary / Raiton Ninjutsu
Range: See special!
Handseals: Yes.
Chakra: Mid
Special: Up to 5 sparrows can be summoned at a time, plus 5 more each time retrained, for a maximum of 50 sparrows active at any given time. Sparrows fly as fast their normal counterparts do. No other jutsu may be performed while controlling the sparrows, and the user must remain still. Range at which sparrows can be controlled depends on the user's highest 'Karai Shin' range.
Description: The Lightning Sparrows Cometh! In the form of bright blue sparrows, these creations fly to wherever the user desires, allowing them to reach and damage places previously deemed impossible. As the user continues to improve their skill in this technique, they can summon more and more sparrows.

Danpen Inazuma (Shooting Thunder)

Description: Meant more as a reactionary technique than a main avenue of offense, this jutsu allows the user to essentially shoot out small lightning bolts from a free hand to anyone within a small range. This requires no seals to conjure, and can be shot out from one’s appendage during the most heated of combat. The damage is light and the bolts shoot off in a relatively straight line, at rapid speeds.

Since neither Apple nor Genbu specifically stated how I fell I assumed that my body positioning was still up for grabs. My clone appeared behind me so if it weaved left and then sprung to the right rear it would then be moving backwards and away, instead of continuing forward passed you, so since your character didn't post any IC knowledge of its whereabouts I suppose that means he was truly undetected during this post. The jutsu Satsui used doesn't require handseals so that's no prob and if my timing is right, Apple should be taking ten shots of blue bird to various points along the body with the temple and spine and pelvic targets being MAJOR nerve clusters. I hope I'm not being too hopeful in thinking this might cause unconsciousness?

[1] I'm going to have to call an iffy on your use of that medical technique. You fell in the last post with "however he was incapacitated shortly thereafter." and you hadn't stated that you'd anticipated the attack at all, so you wouldn't have been able to anticipate the damage given to you, therefore, being unable to use the medical technique. Also; You're going back and changing your response to being subdued by the technique, which is cheating a little.

The one that was partially trapped under his body just so happened to be pointing directly at Areru's grounded foot and the other was pointed upward toward the center of her waist.

I'm alright with the one that's pointing towards her feet, but the one that's pointing upwards at her- I'm going to call that out since as Genbu has said; You'd be limp, and I don't think a your hand could fall that way. Maybe pointing towards her ankle- But I can't see how it would be able to reach her waist! IMO anyways!

[3] In regards to the clone being undetected; yessss, I forgot to put how far away he was, but made the assumption that he was at a minimum of eight meters away. You've posted saying that the casting to your technique was finished once my character was a single meter away; On that single meter she'd have kicked him hard in the head.

Being that it retained Satsui's speed of movemnt, the clone reached its destination just as Areru had come to within a meter of Satsui. It's casting was complete and its purpose would be acknowledged as ten miniature creations were spawned by its will just prior to the female preparing to stomp the younger fighter.

So, according to this bit, as soon as I got to one meter away (I kick at one meter away from the real Satsui) the seals had been formed, and it would take perhaps little time for the birds to spawn and fly over; But my arguement stands that my kick was quicker.


Timing has never been my thing! So I'd like to call in a BM if that's alright?

EDIT: Also, seeing as you wrote about how you fell in your second post, saying that you'd have fallen with your face up- Surely then, (If you were in range) then you'd have been also hit by your clone's blinding technique, preventing you from being able to know where to fire your lightning tech? [OOC: In hindsight, you are correct about the medical jutsu, it does seem afterthefactish so we'll wipe that off the table. As far as the hand pointing up, I think I got a leg to stand on {no pun intended} cuz you're technique made me rigid not limp? The ninjutsu paralysis would make me stiffen and stay that way unlike electrical paralysis that would tense me up and the cause utter relaxation of the musculature, I'm hoping, so the hand could be turned upward and frozen in place there.

I was trying to word this so that this was happening before you even raised your foot. And then, Satsui's jutsu would stun you before your foot began to fall, thereby slowing or stopping your attack.

Lightning shot out from both hands and sought to paralyze her, just as she had done to him, right before her foot began to descend toward Satsui's face.

With these sparrows flying at speeds of 30 mph or more, it would take them less than a second to reach you from where the clone is positioned. So we got my primary versus your tertiary with, at the very least, a dual knockout? Or just one of us . . . .
