I clasped my hands, folding them as I transitioned into deep thought. This was a loaded question, and clearly relevant. I surveyed the land before me with scarlet crowns, their gaze imbued with intensity. I took in the damage administered through war, and thought of a potential answer to his question. Was our first plan of action the people? Possibly. Maybe it was the security of our prosperity? It was possible as well. But my mind was transfixed upon our nation as a whole. To establish alliances with neighboring Countries could accent our survival. I wanted nothing more than Kaminari no Kuni to be a perennial force that would exist eternally through generation to generation; so to bond nations together would ensure a greater outcome. But then again, who knew?[/i]
My tone transcended my thoughts of uncertainty."I cannot put my finger on it. The people are the vitality of our Nation, they are why we stand to fight. The legend of our nation stands alone amongst the ranks, and nationalism and pride exists more abundantly in us making it obvious that the future of our nation should be secured. Alliances are crucial in times of struggle, but who is there to be trusted in times of madness? No one upholds their word when there is no one around to enforce the truth. Deception lies around every corner, eager to claim their prey with deceit. I am unsure of what it is that needs to be done; but I know one thing, whatever is decided to be done, in the name of Kumogakure, it will be done. Whether it be murder or salvation, thieving or charity, allegiance or hostility, whatever ensures the prosperity of our Village I will act upon it without question of morality."
My nature was not to be concerned with right or wrong, only what was efficient or inefficient. If this nation turned me into the devil himself, I would comply without question. But if I were to be made a peacemaker unto the nations of this world, I would convey such tranquility. I was not a decision maker; I could never become Kage for it was never my aspiration to do so. But I would aspire to be the Kage's aide-de-camp, the strong right arm, the tool of war, ardently craving the opportunity to do his or her bidding. If Aburame Shouta was to be elected, let him bring affluent opulence and achievement to our nation, and let him utilize me until death claimed my soul.
"The decision is yours now, Kage of Kumogakure."
