“Well that sounds rough, I've heard of Konoha though. My parents are from there, and my grandparents live their as well. I actually hoped to go visit one day hopefully, but I've lived here in Kusagakure just about my whole life.”
Wave waited for the boys pause to end, all the while thinking to himself. How nice it was to have a fellow immigrant in Kusagakure, and as the boy uncrossed his legs and arose, there was a small smile on Wave's face. This kid was from Konoha like him, but bore no malice towards his former homeland. Wave had wondered if Rukei took notice to any of the anger in Wave's voice. As much as Wave didn't want to corrupt the boy, he couldn't help but feel as though he had to educate him on the horrors of the world, especially since the boy had chosen the path of a ninja. Before Wave could string his words together, Rukei outstretched his arm and spoke again.
“Well I’d feel crazy if I didn’t say this, but we can be friends… You don’t have to look all sad when you think about the past because it already happened. Just look forward to the future and what it holds. That’s what my dad always tells me when I mess up ya know? And if you don’t mind me asking are you a Hyuuga? My mom told me about them a long time ago, I wasn’t to sure before what was wrong with those white eyes until you said you were Konoha."
It was almost comical how such words of wisdom could come from such a tiny vessel. Rukei's words were truly not expected, and Wave almost jerked in surprise as his mouth hung open with the word's he had planned on saying hanging off his lips. It was also quite weird for Wave to be called out on his Hyuuga heritage, especially after all they had done to him, yet, there was also a bitter sweet relief accompanied with the discomfort.
"Yeah... We can be friends. I guess, I couldn't really hide my heritage after all... Yeah... I'm a Hyuuga.
Wave's last words were accompanied by a chuckle and his usual tensed expression was relaxed into a warm smile. Perhaps he was starting to get attached to the kid.
