Upon seeing Nagato slowly proceed to the spotted shinobi’s last known location at a walking pace, the two oinin apprentices quickly retreated. Concealed by the hill their target was currently scaling, they’d safely scurry away at a hasted pace, ending yet another fifty meters away from the traitor (and twenty meters apart from each other) once he had leisurely reached his destination.

By this point, both the attackers had concealed themselves yet again behind the seemingly endless sea of grass while watching for Nagato’s next move. Given the name of this land (Land of Rice), their target would be hard pressed to find any real cover save for the stalks that danced before him. With that in mind, their presence had most likely gone unnoticed considering they had already established themselves by the time Nagato finally arrived at the top of the small slope due to his casual walking speed and the relative distance he had to cover.

Bow of lightning having formed in their prey’s hands, an arrow materialized, ready to strike at a moment’s notice. Unfortunately for Nagato, neither of his assailants budged a single inch. With immeasurable patience, they’d maintain a state of motionless as they’d simply watch and wait. This was a game the two were all too familiar with.

There are three rules in the world of shinobi. The first two entail allegiance to one’s village and duty to seeing a mission through to completion. The third dictates loss of societal protection if either of the previous is broken. There’d be no hard feelings between the oinin and their prey, similar to how a lion weeps not for the gazelle in its maw. It was simply business – nothing more and nothing less.

No sooner had the deserter started making his way to the shore did the shinobi standing in plain sight act. With dedicated swiftness, six hand seals were promptly formed while safely out of harm’s reach. Upon completion of this jutsu with his prey having not yet reached the shore, two fireballs would be launched, not directly at the traitor himself but rather other things. If events unfolded as planned, these two orbs of flame would fire swiftly over the needed distance, precisely striking at two positions. The first was directed at the southern line of explosive tags, aiming directly for the center of the swath. The second was aimed directly at a neatly made pile of Nagato’s clothing.

Rather than waiting for confirmation of his attacks’ connections, the masked youth quickly re-concealed himself into the tall grasses, most likely vanishing from sight in his attempt to flee. The only confirmation he’d need was the sound marking the start of a terribly slow demise.

The most likely result of this assault would yield in a fiery explosion, supplemented by Nagato’s tags which had erupted upon ignition. A cacophony of booms would sound as sand was blasted high into the sky. The explosion would most likely result in a chain reaction, detonating the entire trapezoid of tags while simultaneously obliterating what little food, supplies and equipment the deserter formerly possessed. Likewise, should the second ball of flame connect, Nagato’s final articles of possession (his clothing) would be incinerated until nothing remained.

By the time the sand, dust and smoke had settled, Nagato would appear to be alone. Having just now reached the shore line, the young lad was more likely than not left without food, water and stood stark naked. Those watching eyes that had gone unnoticed and the ones that had been re-hidden among the terrain would continue to stalk their prey from an overly safe distance (50 meters and 65 meters respectively, both 30 meters apart from one another). The lion had been wounded. Though not a direct wound, it’d be one the beast would suffer for most grievously. The hunt had only just begun.

Oinin Apprentice 1: Gouryuuka no Jutsu (Great Dragon Fire Technique) - 1 High

Having thoroughly reaped havoc along the wall’s length, the brilliantly white dragon doubled back towards the initial point, swerving clearly back into view while maintaining its commanding altitude. From the looks of it, the First was in the middle of a monologue directed at the supposed heretics that had gathered down below. Rather than letting loose another roar, he’d restrain the beast beneath his feet, forcing it to hold position far above the wall's original heights for the sole sake of providing supplemental intimidation.

Glancing back once rather cautiously while maintaining a safe distance from the ground, he’d spot that woman standing at the squad commander’s side. With a bit of dissatisfaction, he'd mumble something quietly to himself while acknowledging her presence. “Shit. About time her bitch ass got here.”

Not allowing himself to be distracted for long, his gaze reverted back to the Mist nin below.  A thorough head count was taken as he'd curiously speculate what their response might be.

“Roger that.” This short response was all to be said as the shinobi skillfully mounted himself atop the creation that had appeared from the miniscule puff of smoke. Waiting patiently within the forest’s confines, he’d conceal the beast from prying eyes until the signal was given.

As stated previously by his commander, the signal was unmistakable. With the first cascade of explosions sounding against these pitiful walls, the dark haired demolitionist took to the skies. From the tree lines a snow white dragon appeared in all its royal grandeur. Wings beating forcefully to gain acceleration, a single spine shivering roar would echo throughout the village, marking the arrival of a harbinger of death. [x]

Shortly thereafter, the monstrosity would sweep across the gate’s length, maintaining an altitude of flying fifty meters over the structure’s peak. In doing so, a hail of unidentified objects would forcefully eject from the beast’s body, scattering along the walls with uncannily precise accuracy. To be specific, twenty five mines were properly placed along what remained of the surface of the structure’s length, each spaced ten meters from the next. In total, two hundred and fifty meters of distance would be covered. A salvo of ten missiles was also emitted on the first pass at the entrance (concentrated primarily on a central point), more likely than not dealing significant damage to the gates if not outright dismantling the barricade itself.

With the mines scattered and the missiles having been exhausted, yet another bone wracking roar followed. The mines would simultaneously detonate, reaping destruction across the entire covered segment’s length. The end result was most likely death for any atop the walls, if any walls were to remain.

Kibaku-Nendo, C2 Doragon (Exploding Clay, C2 Dragon)
Chakra: 350/350

“Eh… this is good in its own right.” Jack casually yawned as the gap continued to grow between him and his allies. Stretching his arms up as he’d lean back, he’d continue to let the beasts direct his wagon as he’d refocus his vision down the path. “I can always use a bit of long distance shooting practice anyway.”

With this in mind, he’d proceed to notch an arrow and let it loose. It’d easily embed itself into yet another skull as the figure ceased its flailing against imaginary assailants. “Twenty.” Yet another arrow was let loose, again finding its mark with relative ease. “Forty.” And with this course of action, the distance between him and his juniors continued to grow in length. After all, the young’uns needed to learn one way or another… right?

Meanwhile… back in the heat of the action, several of the bandits had accidentally struck one another with their weapons due to the mass confusion caused within such a large group. Returning back to their senses from the pain, they’d look about with a baffled gaze before one individual in particular caught on to the current developments. “Shit! We've been duped!  It was probably that queer one! Hit the others and get em to their senses!”
