I had rather hoped for better visibility. Making out a face through the window was difficult, especially with so many people inside. The one man that did catch my eye had his back to me, but he seemed to be a center of attention, with a number of people milling around him conversing. I closed my eyes, holding the familiar handseal that would let me assess him, sensing both daichi and matsumoto in position - and yes, his chakra was significantly brighter than the rest of the bar's occupants. It made sense for the strongest person within to be our target, no? He was a gang leader, after all, and skilled in combat, as the mission brief stated. Still, we couldn't seize him without being sure.

I could wait for the other two to join me, and hope they'd spotted him, or I could expedite the process, and identify him myself. I had planned from the outset to put these two through their paces, and rely on them to use their initiative, but it would certainly be easier if I took care of it. Well, something had to be done! Raising one hand, I let a single silk thread slip from beneath my fingernail and enter the building through a small crack in the window. Although the thread would be visible to anybody who cared to look, it was slender and the bar was bustling with activity. Besides - I wanted somebody to look.

It wound its way towards the man I suspected, and sharply tugged on his hair from behind. He turned around, looking furious. Aha! It was him! I severed the thread, letting it fall useless within the building, before speeding around the side of the building. Naturally they would follow the thread to find its source, but it was of no consequence. I came upon Daichi, and whispered in his ear, hopefully not startling him due to my near invisibility.
"That one, see he's turned around and heading for the back door? He's our man. You said you're fast, inform Matsumoto, we'll converge on him behind the bar - I suspect they'll go outside to investigate,"

I rather hoped Matsumoto - who seemed to be astute and observant, despite his age, had caught a glimpse of the man's face previously, facing forward as he had been, and had noticed his attention caught. But it mattered not, I had lured him - hopefully outside - and we were given an opportunity.

I leaped gracefully back atop the roof, making my way to the rear once more and peering down. Perhaps now I would let the two of them take charge, as the door opened and a number of people stepped outside, Hanzou being one of them, to investigate the source of my thread.

Chakra Consumption: Low per 15 meters: Miniscule sustain
Kagura Shingan is an advanced Sensory Ninjutsu technique used by all sensors, and serves as the root to the entire sensory tree. After performing the necessary handseal, the sensor closes their eyes and uses their innate ability to detect Chakra in order to determine the location of their opponent by the faintest of Chakra trails, as well as discerning the size of an approaching unseen force, and even their Chakra capacity.

This sensory technique can also discern whether or not a person is under the effects of a Genjutsu; which elements they have at their command (even advanced releases), and likewise mask their own Chakra signature (user’s) from other sensory ninja. The focus required to do the latter (masking their signature) prohibits their other sensing abilities, however.

Note: It should be noted that no other jutsu can be used while this technique is active. This jutsu requires Admin Approval. Restricted to Ninjutsu/Genjutsu Masters and Jack-of-all-trades. Consumes one release slot from Ninjutsu/Genjutsu Masters and either a release or fighting style slot from Jack-of-all-trades.



Kumo Kenshi (Spider Silk Thread) [50]

Chakra Consumption: Low per thread

Although the Sasanagi may spit their threads at an opponent, there are more uses to the creation than simply that. With this technique, the Sasanagi clan member can create lengths of thread for any purpose, and these may also be produced under the Sasanagi's fingernails (for a total of ten threads). Lengths of thread may be used for their sticky properties to subdue opponents, or expelled at heights to ascend quickly; the possibilities are limitless, aside from the range.

Note: These threads are tethers that are roughly the size of an average person’s finger; they’re very visible in broad daylight. These threads possess a reasonable amount of force (capable of lifting and restraining a fully grown man effortlessly). This technique also allows the user to manipulate objects that their webs have wrapped around (such as picking up and throwing objects, or making a person move if they’ve been restrained).

It should be noted that if thread is cut or destroyed in any way, it will become immobile and thusly unable to be used. The user can then “severe” it at their fingernail, and emit another in its place.

Only other Sasanagi techniques may be cast while the user has threads capable of being manipulated active. This technique was created by Daisy.

"Oh, of course, forgive me," I had quite forgotten. Rummaging inside my handbag, I produced a rather crumpled picture of our target, and showed it to the two genin. Quite the striking face, the scar that ran vertically across his entire visage added quite the dangerous appeal. Still, it certainly made him recognisable. I stuffed it back into my bag, looking around us briefly.
"There will do," I said, pointing out a bend in the alleyway that wouldn't be visible from the bar we were to raid. It was as good a spot to rendezvous as any, given that our assault would take place from every direction but this one.

I raised an eyebrow at Daichi's contribution to the discussion.
"Well, you'll just have to be the one to grab him, I suppose. You have my thanks for coming prepared," I smiled at him, hopefully imparting just how professional I thought him. Still, it was quite the serious mission, and as genin, one would think they would want to do everything in their power to prepare. Perhaps he would surprise me yet. I wasn't particularly concerned, in truth. My abilities were made for capture, and if the boy failed, I would cover for him.
"Very well, let us begin. Take up position on either side, and then meet me round the back after you locate him,"

I stretched, before performing a string of handseals.
"Needless to say, don't let yourselves be seen. Bon chance, darlings," With that, and now hidden from sight, I took off down the alleyway, approaching the boarded up bar head on. I leaped delicately onto the roof, and tread carefully across it. It was probably unnecessary to be so cautious, given the amount of noise coming from within, but I was nothing if not thorough. Upon crossing the tiles, I dropped down lightly on the other side, now at the rear of the building.

Though all but invisible to the naked eye, I still took care not to make any noise as I pressed up against the back wall, peering through the rear window. With Matsumoto and Daichi looking through the east and west windows, we ideally wouldn't have to enter the building to locate Hanzou. But I could not see him yet, scanning the faces within through an unboarded spot in the glass.

I hoped the other two would have better luck.

{jutsu}Meisai Gakure no Jutsu (Camouflage Concealment Technique) [150]

Chakra Consumption: Mid: Low sustain
Meisai Gakure no Jutsu is an advanced Ninjutsu technique created for stealth purposes. After forming the needed handseals, the Shinobi will summon a large amount of visually altering Chakra, strong enough to coat their bodies and take effect within moments of use. With this, the user can grant themselves near invisibility, which can be sustained even when in motion or minimal contact occurs. Only Chakra sensing methods have been shown to pierce the veil and see the hidden ninja easily.

Note: Quick movement and bright lighting reduces the effectiveness of this technique considerably.

I walked on in silence, listening to the rustle of her many legs and the intermittent clacking of her fangs. She had listened to me without understanding, so it was only considerate I do the same. She was truly enormous though. The size of spiders was often misleading, as it was the legs that spanned such widths, usually accompanied by a much smaller body, or cephalothorax, and then a sizable abdomen. However all parts of this queen of spiders were gigantic, and my much above average height in such heels only brought me level with her face, while her abdomen and the peaks of her legs towered above me. I stole glances at her fangs, the most animated part of her, as I walked. I could see - and hear - that they clacked at different rates, sometimes expressively and sometimes as if in monotone.

It was fanciful, of course, but I rather imagined we were communicating quite well.
"I suppose it's difficult? Either by those wishing to sell parts, or make potions, or those who simply fear you, you will always be hunted, won't you?" I was beginning to understand what it felt like. She clacked her fangs, a long leg striding hugely before me, followed by others.
"We mustn't give in, darling. We simply have to persevere!" I stopped walking and turned to face her directly. We had covered quite the distance, I hadn't noticed being as fascinated by her as I was, but I was sure this would be far enough to ensure her safety. I would do everything in my power upon my return to prevent her being hunted.

"I must leave you now, okay? Don't get too close to the village, it's not safe there," I explained, looking her in the eyes. It was truly a strange experience. I was rather humbled by the whole thing, and no small part inspired.
"I'll always be rooting for you. I'll come find you again someday, I promise, so don't forget me," It was perhaps arrogance and vanity, but I rather imagined she understood me. She certainly raised her front legs briefly, to either side of me.
"We'll both have to do our best in a world that doesn't appreciate us, but as long as we don't give in... Well. We'll be okay, okay?" I smiled, and placed my hand lightly on her head, careful not to brush against her many eyes.

Then I walked away, turning back only briefly.

"Goodbye now! Take care of yourself for me," and I hurried away. How foolishly sentimental I was, hastily wiping my dampening eyes. But I could still see her waving her legs as I made my quiet way back to the village.

Her anger was mounting. I had expected as much. Such a powerful thing, used to being the dominant force in these woods, to challenge her was of course to provoke her ire. But it was for her own good, if only I could explain! If it were not I who defeated her and helped her hide, it would be those who came after, and they would not stop until she was dead. But she could not know this, and as such, she charged, her silk hanging forgotten from her fangs. Spitting out the last of my own thread, I raised my arms once more, and thread danced free from my fingertips, before darting towards her.

"Calm down darling, it's okay," I called, as I seized her legs with a thread each, holding her off just enough that her clacking fangs could not reach me. Restrained by my threads as she was, her face merely a foot from my own, I glared at her.
"Stop this nonsense, you know what I am," I reprimanded her. Although of course I could not speak with spiders, I certainly could connect to them on a far deeper level than one not of my clan. We were as close to spiders as humans could be, and the same ancient heritage flowed in both our veins. I bared my teeth, far from fangs, but the gesture was understood.
"You are not safe here, sweetie. You are being hunted," I explained, concern evident in my voice. It was, perhaps, foolish to keep talking to her, but though she did not understand my words, she was a creature of great intelligence, and I believed my emotions would get through.

I relaxed the silken hold on her limbs, keeping my gaze steady, seeing my face reflected in each of those brilliant eyes.
"Relax, shh. We must go from here, okay?" I could see in her eyes that she was calming. She no longer struggled, and the clicking of her fangs was communicative, rather than purely aggressive.
"Yes, of course I shall come with you, darling," I smiled, retracting my silken threads entirely. She stood before me, peering at me with those many eyes, and I looked back, trying to understand.
"I know, I know. What right do they have? But for now, your safety takes priority," and, keeping my eyes on hers, I began to step to the side, circling her, watching her body shift to follow until we had come half circle.

My, how irreverent they seemed. The graceful one managed a semblance of respect and courtesy, albeit undercut with quite the imperious air. The other simply seemed... well, rough. Standing at such a delicate height, and with such features, at first glance I had taken the one named Matsumoto for a girl, but if there was anybody quite so astute in matters of gender as I, I had yet to meet them. This was a boy - a beautiful boy, but male all the same. The other, Daichi, was rather more overtly masculine, given his missing clothing, but he too was short - compared to myself. I supposed they were both terribly young, and given my excessive age and height I felt rather outlandish.

"Matsumoto, Daichi, I'm charmed," I said, smiling at both of them, "I am Mai Akira, and I shall be leading today's mission. I'm quite sure you'll impress me," I had almost forgotten what it was like to talk to the younger generation. It made me think of a certain genin of my own village, rather more... respectful than those of the Sand, it seemed.
"Our objective is assassination, our target Hanzou, a gang leader and monstrous criminal. Currently, he seems to be holed up in a bar, quite possibly a gang hideout. I'd rather we do this with as little bloodshed as possible, mm?"

I turned away from them, pointing down the dingy alleyway at a building on the street opposite. Though the windows were boarded up, light shone through, and even from here, rowdy voices could be heard.
"I propose we each take a separate entrance - a window to either side and the door to the rear. When we have pinpointed his location within, two of us will cause diversions - smoke bombs, explosives, whatever takes your fancy - and the third will seize him and remove him from the building, followed by a rendezvous with him in our possession," I paused to watch their expressions.

"Any concerns, or shall we begin?" It was refreshing to be back in the field, I could only hope my young charges proved co-operative.

Spider ANBU;
Dominatrix, Lolita

She watched Lady Valentine leave, or rather, watched the Kazekage leave, knowing he was accompanied by her mistress under an illusive ninjutsu. And that was that. The village was in their hands now, in her absence. Well, the council's hands, but the Spider ANBU certainly weren't going to make that easy for them.
"You think she'll be okay?" Lolita sounded distressed, but Dominatrix knew better. The little girl was a talented actress, and although her concern for the Tsuchikage was genuine, the way she expressed it was not.
"The Kazekage seems truly taken with her, I believe she will be safe. The same cannot be said for us, however," the tall blonde responded, tone subdued as always.

It was the truth, however. Iwagakure was now a deadly place to be for supporters of the Tsuchikage, and none were more so than her elite operatives - the Spider ANBU, perhaps the only ones who remained truly loyal.
"Anyway, shouldn't you be prepared?" Dominatrix asked, peering down at little Lolita.
"Ah, you're right... here goes," and with a handseal, and a quiet 'henge!', the little girl now stood at over 6 foot, and was the spitting image of their Tsuchikage Mitzy.
"Let's hope they don't send ninja with chakra sight..." Lolita muttered,
"You ought to speak like her too,"
"O-of course, darling!"

Their plans were simple, yet efficient. If sightings of the Tsuchikage were reported here, at her very mansion, the council would be that much slower in searching for the woman outwith the village. However their objectives were twofold; giving the Tsuchikage time to escape and ensuring she would not be found in Sunagakure, as well as undermining the Iwagakure Council and gaining support for Mitzy's eventual return.

Though the girl was only a genin, the missions against the Tsuchikage were open to all, and she was pleased to see the young up in arms against the traitor.
"Wonderful, many are attempting these, so just be careful,"
