The purple haired girl stole a glance at her student as she said those words, praying that he understood. At first he had a puzzled look on his face that later turned into a bright smile. This was better than she had thought. At least she wouldn't have to waste too much breath explaining to him, thankfully. She observed him carefully as he turned his attention back to training again. If experience has taught her anything, it would be that academy students often could only learn up to a certain parameter in terms of jutsu especially when dealing with Taijutsu. The calculated mastery distance that the scroll had said was 5m. She'd be more than pleased if he could reach 3m, accounting for his chakra imbalance and skill together. And so, as he continued to train, she would watch him carefully, making mental notes as to what he would have to improve on.

Speed was definitely one as she noticed how long it took him to actually start the jutsu training. This could be merely because he wasn't sure how to his body's energy, which she knew she still had trouble with many times while she was training. She watched as he curled into a ball. The girl stopped him abruptly. She couldn't help but notice that his movements were off and was keen on making them right. She was not sure how she could verbally explain to him. And so, the best thing was to show him directly. The kunoichi would tell her student to stop what he was doing and watch her movements, mimicing them as best as he could for best performance. The chakra in her body was still very active which was just what she needed at the moment. The thing she had been fearing was about to play out. She only hoped that she wouldn't fail Kouji. It wouldn't look good for her nor would it set a good example for the kid. The last thing she wanted was to fail her own student.

Evangeline would close her eyes for a fraction of a second, trying to stabilize her unstable feelings about doing this. Well here goes nothing...The young Genin would then open her eyes in a flash and was already jumping upward, her knees bringing close to her chest and her arms wrapped around her shins and ankles. As she came down on her knees she would move her body forward so that her now human ball shape would begin to roll. The second she felt the hard surface connect with her knees she would then release the gathered energy from all her chakra points. Of course, she wasn't aware how much chakra was released. But she guessed it to be enough. Her chakra was still being released as she felt her body picking up speed whilst rolling on the ground, obviously powered by the energy. As she rolled she wondered what the distance was. And the girl would find out soon enough.

One...Two...Three...Four...FIVE!

The little boy was clapping his hands excited as he saw her making a fool out of herself by rolling on the ground like a barrel. He kind of got what she was saying but knew that it'd be much harder for him to do himself. He knew it was always easier to watch than anything. As she skidded to a stop and retracted her body's energy, she would stand up from the ground and look at the distance between her and her student. That was 5m wasn't it? She let out a relieved smile shine through. Now it was Kouji's turn. And he was a good student especially at mimicing. Evangeline noticed that his chakra control was still off by a lot but again he was only an academy student. As he came down from his jump, his body's chakra was slightly uneven but was enough to fuel his little body as he began to roll like a barrel. He was definitely skilled, just needed a little push. And the final result? He had made 3m, which was definitely not bad for a boy at his level.

"As you heard from what I said back there, I'm going to be teaching you a jutsu today. This jutsu sill be a little difficult because of the rank but once you're done with it, you'll probably have lots of fun." Yea, no kidding it was difficult since a full fledge Genin like her took five attempts to master. Because she wasn't looking for mastery from the boy, she would think that it would take less attempts for him. At least she hoped so, direly. The boy looked at her with a sense of incomprehension. Perhaps it was running through his head that nobody could possibly be or wanting to be teaching him a higher ranked jutsu. She tried to give him a reassuring smile. "My name is Evangeline but you can call me Eva. I'll be your sensei for the next few hours." And the was when it dawned upon him that it wasn't a dream. He would bow to her. It was the very first time someone bowed to her with so much respect.

Well here goes...

The young kunoichi then handed him the rolled up scroll that had been in her hand from before. It was obvious that he had never quite seen one of these scrolls before. Kouji would take it from her hand gently, as though gripping it any harder would make it rip or break. The little boy was fascinated, she could tell. "Open the scroll and find the jutsu called Syonara Rorru. That's the one you'll be learning today." the boy was actually quite obedient which she was thankful for as he unrolled the scroll to read it's content shortly after she finished instructing him to do so. Although greatly interested at what the other techniques were he knew better than to not heed to the Genin. "Sensei, is there a reason why I'm learning this?" An honest question. She explained to him that it was a higher ranked jutsu for one and that he could have fun learning it too. Nothing beats a barrel roll.

After he went over the jutsu description and somewhat managed to grasp the idea, the girl would ask that he gave it a try. At first he was a little hesitant, almost unwilling but she resassured him that everything was going to be alright. "It'll be alright. Have some confidence Kouji-kun! If you don't get it the first time just keep trying~ Ganbatte!" Of course that was true, she thought as she recalled her own numerous failures with this jutsu only moments before. Evangeline thought she had done the right thing asking him to try out the technique. Every kid had that urge to want to try something new when given the chance. And she knew this boy was no different. He handed her back the scroll and then stood a little away from her, facing the center. It was a good way to test his skill level as well as a way for her to grasp better how to teach him based on what flaws he presented. That would be how she learned if doing solo training.

Kouji would then curl into a ball just as he has seen from the description of the jutsu on the scroll. And he would try to roll on the ground manually, meaning that he had not released any chakra. He had also Judy decided to curl into a ball in a sitting position. She had made that same mistake (chakra flared though) the first time she had tried the technique. As he couldn't quite roll that far without his energy combined, the Genin would wait for him to stop before calling to him. She asked him if he could tell her what was said on the scroll as best as he could. He had good memory as he had recalled almost exactly what was said after only having read it once. "Do you know now what part of that description you didn't quite follow just now?" She walked over to him and wondered if he would get it on his own. Kouji was thinking very hard and after a moment of thinking he would reply. "I don't know, sensei." Well she guessed it was just back to the basics then...

]And she would soon find out that his method would be the exact same he had said earlier. He would propose a spar. Well propose wasn't exactly the right term for what he had done. Instead of giving her any fair warning like the one he had given her when he had instructed Reina to take the offense. But it was all for her own good as she later learned. Not giving her a warning and merely attacking allowed the validity and the incentive to perform the learning jutsu even higher than if someone had had already told the trainer that he or she was going to be attacked and to dodge only with the said technique. He was training her reaction time, speed, agility as well as her ability to perform the barrel rolling jutsu. It was the only way he knew that would be fast and effective. He had taught many students at the upper level using this method.

But Evangeline had not been on guard as the old man suddenly attacked her. Her body flew back of course, trying her best to avoid his incoming attacks. Though he was old, his agility and speed was far greater than anyone she had ever met before making mere dodging by humping backward not enough. His attacks were all focusing on various parts of her body that as soon as she would have dodged pne another would come at her. Right...he was forcing her to use the barrel technique. It finally hit her after a couple minutes that his attacks were for a reason. As he continued to close in distance, he would almost immediately reach into his pocket and pull out a shuriken. Though he was doing all this, he would still drop hints for her, this was a training moment and not a battle after all.

"Think on your feet! You have to be quick in these situations!" The man was right. Evangeline saw an opening just then, one in which she knew the maj had given her deliberately. He had literally only kept attacking his right side which was her dominant side, making attacks easier to dodge supposedly. But what she had now found was a perfect opportunity on the left side. She would jump backward, this time to the right side so that she would be able to hopefully form the barrel technique and land five meters away from where they currently were, to the left side, evading all his incoming attacks. This was definitly a great way to learn, she mused. Not thinking twice, she acted on impulse as her opponent came at her right shoulder again.

She would release chakra once more from all points in her body. The idea of releasing energy through more than one chakra point was still new to her but she knew that new didn't mean that she wouldn't be able to master the use of her own chakra. With every time that she released energy she would be learning much of the needed fundamentals to energy balance which was absolutely vital in times of battle since almost all of her jutsus needed chakra and at certain amounts too depending on rank and type. As she began to roll on the ground her chakra of white and blue would be circling around ball-shaped body and would be the empowering factor of the ball as it raced forward. Because the chakra flow was constant and she had released while she was tolling, it fueled for the entire 5m

That was certainly a relief.

If she had thought this day was to be a boring one, she was definitely in for a much more pleasant surprise. And by the word of pleasant, it meant having this rough looking guy staring at her like he wants to eat her or something and this other guy who miraculously appears and flies off a cliff as a way of a grand entrance. Wait what? She wasn't proccessing what was happening. Or rather, she didn't have much time to. The young Genin was still trying to deal with that one 'in your face' dude that was staring at her thinking she wanted to pick a fight when suddenly she heard a rather loud greeting from up above. A simple search would reveal that said greeting came from a man who was situated on a small cliff just above them.

Oh great...this was now a party?

She knew she had asked for company but this kind? The young woman would not be able to see the newcomer's face as it was blocked by the sun. A silhouette was all that was allowed. But she didn't have to wait long for the reveal of this man's appearance. Though she would come to realize that again like this other guy in front of her, she would not be able to recognize him. What was with Tsuchi becoming overly populated with strangers and foreigners from other countries. Evangeline had only but taken a rather educated guess that he too was not from Iwa. She was good at remembering people's faces and neither of them seemed like Iwa shinobi.

She would at least get a confirmation from that rough looking man from before that he was indeed not from her village. Not that it took much of a rocket scientist to figure that one out. He told her that he was from Hidden Village of the Mist, better known to her as Kirigakure no Sato. Truth be told she didn't know much about Kiri at all, just that it like Iwa was a hidden village and apparently Iwa wanted to ally with them. As anyone could bluntly tell without much trouble, the knowledge this girl held about any other village besides her own was minimal to non-existent. Perhaps she'd be able to learn more this time around. Perhaps...

But judging by the reaction that he gave her, that possibility was rather slim. He thought that she and this other man were tricking him or something? She'd never sen either before! Though now she took interest in the newcomer, his blue cape and dark hair capturing her attention. In response to what the man had said, she would only give him a small smile. "Unless I strike at you, don't make assumptions. But since you are a visitor to Tsuchi, I guess it's only respectful to welcome you to Tsuchi no Kuni." Then she would automatically turn her attention to the other man and give him a similar smile, this time actually initiating some form of conversation. "I've never seen you around either...you are?"

The technique Evangeline had in mind was kind of silly in it's own right. Even the name gave a silly connotation but she guessed that the boy would also have fun learning it as well as performing it in times of spar or maybe even just for fun sometimes. The jutsu was called Syonara Rorru. She had heard of this jutsu sometime ago, a little after graduating from the academy. But at the time she was too inclined to learn kenjutsu that she negected the learning of this technique. Well at least she had a chance to do so now. That was exactly what she was going to do as she entered a vacant training area. The purple haired girl would settle right away to train. She was definitely going to learn this technique, no matter what it took!

Sayonara Rorru! (Do a Barrel Roll!)
Rank: C
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Special: Barrel roll burst extends 5 meters, and can be used one per thread, plus one more each time retrained.
Description: As its name implies, the user will suddenly enter barre-roll form, gripping their shins and ankles as they tuck them in, forming a human ball. In this form, chakra is unconsciously powering the roll, making their movement just as fast and graceful as if they were running. Useful for evasion, or when needing to look silly.
Domain: Universal Taijutsu.

It wasn't that hard techniqually. The only thing that would prove to be much of a problem if anything would be her chakra control since she was hardly excellent at that. She wasn't even sure how much chakra was needed even though she had learned many C rank jutsus already. The young girl knew that each C rank was different in their own right and so it couldn't be measured only based on the rank. But forming chakra was not always her forte as her bursts of energy came and went fast. Sustaining was going to be a big problem. Evangeline would start by concentrating chakra. That wasn't hard either, or so she thought. The need for excellent chakra control was not only for the successfulness of the basic jutsu. After all, the jutsu was one which had a distance between 0-5m as the most competent being that of 5m. Honestly, she wasn't too sure if she could get to that distance especially since she was not sure how much chakra was needed while she rolled.

You'll never know unless you try, huh?

Evangeline nodded her head, agreeing with herself. She would begin by making that ball form. She sat on the ground, her knees tucked against her chest. Her hands would wrap around her legs, clutching them tightly. A burst of sudden energy would form as she began to gently roll on the ground. And yet, through all of this, something just didn't seem right to her. The girl would find shortly afterward that her assumption was not far from the truth at all. It wasn't all about chakra, although chakra played a big part. She had failed to read the description properly, resulting in her failure. As well as other technical things. But she was not sure where to start. Perhaps back to the basics. Evangeline would get up off the floor, having notably failed this attempt and not without reason. She was only happy that she was alone here at the moment and so nobody would be able to see her fail so badly. 

The kunoichi tucked her hand into her kimono to retrieve the scroll which contained the Universal Taijutsu. Opening it, she scanned the writing to find what she was looking for. Of course she didn't have to read too far as she more carefully read the entire jutsu explanation, highlighting key words in her head. She wasn't stupid so she realized one of her errors rather quickly. And since it was a silly mistake, missing it would make her even more stupid. But she realized that it would be harder to do if she didn't have something attacking her, or any variations of that sort. Obviously that was going to be what she would have to be used to, solo training. The girl put down the scroll and was ready to try again. This time she would make amends to the mistakes she had noticed from earlier. Standing facing the opposite wall, she was about seven meters away from it, making sure that if she was able to do a semi perfect barrel roll that she wouldn't find herself crashing into the wall. Now that wouldn't be pleasant, she mused. She had absolutely no time to waste.

She tried tucking her knees in whilst standing, and thus having to somewhat jump upward as a result. While she had both feet off the ground she wiuld tuck her knees in, her hands wrapped around her ankles and shins and her head also ducked. The standard barrel position. As she came down, presumeably landing on her knees she would push her body forward, entering the normal barrel roll. But that was where the good things stopped. She found that she couldn't push herself forward. Or rather, it seemed as though there was something prohibiting her. But what was it?She had followed the directions on the scroll closely. Or so she thought. Evangeline wasn't going to go and look at the scroll again. There was no need for such. Anything that she had read was automatically stuck in her memory. And thus, a simple search in her memory was more than enough. What I did was fine wasn't it? And that was when she started to second-guess herself. She hated that! Nothing good comes out from second guessing. 

"What am I doing wrong...? She was thinking aloud again, a sign of confusion and also deep thought. This always worked for her though and so often she would start talking out loud to herself when she trained by herself. Besides it was getting awfully quiet in this setting anyhow, with only this one girl occupying such a big space.
