The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
Laboriously she climbed from her slouched position to stand on her two feet, stretching mightily with her hands thrust to the ceiling. "But not yet - I have duties to attend, and people to meet... meet back here, in say... four hours? Good."
Now you see. A few strands of hair had escaped her hair piece, plastering to the thin sheen of sweat across her forehead. The sixty-four palms was a taxing technique; she could maybe do it once more before calling it quits.
The veins around her eyes bulged grotesquely, painting a myriad of interlocking threads signifying the activation of her kekkai genkai, the Byakugan. Tensa heralded her showing as 'impressive'; this she already knew. A self-satisfied smirk stretched across her face - it was perhaps the most emotion she had shown all day. Her spars with the elder's weren't limited in such a way. Instead of a shirt dotted with red marks, in a spar with the elders, his tenketsu would have been closed and he'd have been carted off to the clan infirmary to recuperate. For a moment, she had thought the duel finished; clearly, she was the victor.
But Tensa thought otherwise, heeding her suggestion to remove his weights. Hn. I'd almost forgotten about those... my own pair should be arriving soon. Constrained to close range, there was only so much he could do, and while he could move faster and more fluidly than before - comparable to her own speed, when using Jyuuken, he couldn't punch any faster... but all that was moot, for he chose to shunshin around her; the tell-tale build up of chakra, as quick and minute as it was, warning enough, if not for his almost blindingly fast disappearance and reappearance behind her.
A left-ward side-step was enough to avoid the telegraphed assault, more lunge than step - interesting, he knows that technique - and then, as she spun about to face him, her revolution continued, chakra bursting from her pores and forming an immensely dense shield billowing outward to slam into and through Tensa.
The sheen of sweat on her forehead grew thicker, trickling down her face. Her chest jumped in silent but deep heaves, her shoulders bouncing with each breath. "It's over cousin... now we can move on to the next step... after a breather." She promptly dropped to her butt right in the middle of the floor. She had been in worser ways before... but she preferred, from time to time, a little lack of decorum to just relax...
And what was more out of line than teaching a branch Hyuuga main line techniques?
Byakugan (All Seeing White Eye) Special: When first unlocked, the Hyuuga may see up to 50 meters 359 degrees all around them. Description: As its name implies, the Byakugan is just that, a featureless white eye that can occasioanlly posses hints of blue-gray and lavender, respectively. When the Byakugan is activated, the user's pupils become more distinct, and the veins near their temples bulge, representing the sudden chakra activation that makes the doujutsu possible. All members of the clan possess and can use the kekkei genkai from birth, as opposed to needing to awaken it. Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. With this vision, the Hyuuga can see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person, and can be improved. Finally, one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow as well as the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail. It is from this particular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style - the Gentle Fist. Domain: Hyuuga.
Hakke Shouhen (Eight Divination Signs, Creation Rebirth) Rank: B, B, B Type: Offensive / Clan Taijutsu Range: See special! Special: Creates a hakke field for Jyuuken that extends 5 meters in every direction, plus 1 more meter each time retrained. Description: The basis of all Gentle Fist techniques relies on the opponent entering the Hakke, or Eight Divination Signs field. Visible only to the user, this circular area is represented by a ying-yang symbol and other clan variations appearing below the opponent they are targeting. With intense training, the Hyuuga will be able to extend their Hakke, thus furthering their reach with all techniques that are executed in conjunction with the field. Domain: Hyuuga.
Hakkeshou Kaiten (Eight Divination Palms of the Hand, Heavenly Spin) Rank: D, C, B Type: Offensive / Defensive / Clan Taijutsu Range: See special! Special: Blocks taijutsu and ninjutsu of equal rank. Kaiten dome extends as far as the Hyuuga's maximum Hakke range. Description: Like many of the Jyuuken techniques, Kaiten is a special technique passed down through the main family line. Kaiten takes advantage of several of the unique abilities of the Byakugan eye, including an almost complete 360 degree view of their surroundings, so that the member to see all angles around them. As such, if an attack is near, the clan member will release a large of amount of chakra from their tenketsu and, simultaneous to the release, begins to spin like a top, creating a whirling vortex that can nullify almost any attack. Said to be a Hyuuga's ultimate defense. Domain: Hyuuga. Main House exclusive.
A grin, almost demented, lit up her face, her arms moving seemingly of their own accord. This was the moment she had been waiting for, when Tensa finally took the initiative. Against a lesser opponent, against a non Hyuuga, Hakke Sanjuunishou would have been enough. They were close enough that avoiding it the attack was nigh impossible - she could if she desired - which left little other options; had she not been goading him towards this very act, she'd have been hard pressed to retaliate.
As it were, she matched his attack blow for blow, their palms barely tapping one another before resetting and striking once more. It was beautiful showing, more like a dance than a fight, and Hime felt herself swept up by silent music, her mind blank save for the electric thrum of thought linking the mind to movement.
However, she did more than just match his strikes; she exceeded them, turning his blows aside and striking in the split second interim with well placed palm-strikes of her own, her Hakke Rokujuuyonshou trumping the Sanjuunishou with twice as many strikes - initiated twice as fast as usual, it may as well have been thrice as many.
Hakke Rokujuuyonshou (Eight Divination Signs, Sixty-Four Palms of the Hand) Rank: B Type: Offensive / Clan Taijutsu Range: 0 - 5 meters Special: Seals off the victim's chakra for the rest of the thread. Moves around the Hakke to strike at near-shunshin speeds. Description: The second level of Hakke strikes involves doubling the previous 32, although with a few notable differences - Hakke Rokujuuyonshou is a special technique passed down through the main family line only. When an opponent is within the clan members divination field of attack, they can quickly begin their assault. Like with the previous 32, they can force their chakra through their hands into the tenketsu of the opponent's body. First the clan member will strike 2 times, then 4, 8, 16, 32 and finally 64. This damage forceably closes 64 tenketsu, stopping the chakra flow of the opponent, thus limiting their opponent's ability to use jutsu much greater than ever. Domain: Hyuuga. Main House exclusive.
Her brother, Kami rest his soul, had explained the need for a relentless offence far better than the elders; whereas they simply told, he had taught.
It's to force them to react to you, he'd said. That way, your opponent is always a step behind; two steps, if they are predictable. That's what the elder's want you to take advantage of. That's why, right now, they are stressing offense so heavily.
She'd realized that on her own, but something about hearing her brother say it made it true... he'd died shortly thereafter, and she had been saved from becoming as meaningless as her cousins. Sometimes she wondered which she would prefer - the seal, or her brother back...
Tensa opened his stance to match her spin, so to speak, and she showcased her speed once more - briefly, as before - in maneuvering out the way of his arms. The first of thirty two strikes became the first of sixty four, palmed fists catching and redirecting the deflection attempts, minute chakra control, as well as simple talent, enabling her to showcase great dexterity.
"You should remove your weights, cousin - it is the only way that you will be able to keep up with my full speed." Almost of its own accord the Hakke Field emblazoned on the floor around them, glowing brightly in her minds eye. She was stretching the truth somewhat, but what she had said was basically true.
As his palms arced towards her forearms she increased her speed, pivoting off her front foot into a leftward spin, for a split second moving as fast as she was capable of. Her goal was to be untouched, and thus unmarked - perhaps Tensa had the same goal? She could discern his movements rather easily, though he really hadn't done much more than move his arms. She hoped to take advantage of his stationary position, however, arms still snaking out to strike, this time at his flank...
She could here the elder's voices in her head, drilling relentlessly...
Use your speed. Your frame is slight and your reach is short; always move, never stop, never allow your opponent the liberty of stopping - offense, offense, offense!
It was a different ideal every week, as she grew more and more skillful, until she was no longer fighting with her peers and she was fighting with the elder's themselves. The youth tended to attack linearly, and thus predictably - the best fighters moved themselves to attack lateraly, and thus, unpredictable;
Tensa was braver than her other cousins, she decided, or simply less informed - already at thirteen she had mastered the basic and intermediate aspects of Jyuuken, and was well approaching a true mastery. Indeed, she was by far the fastest amongst her age group, and more skilled than most adults in the nuances of the Gentle Fist. She could see all 128 tenketsu with her eyes, and close them all, though with great strain; undoubtedly, she wouldn't need to result to such drastic measures in naught more than a familial jousting match.
"Very well." She bowed, mockingly almost, and dipped her fingers daintily into the can of paint. When she stood again her face was a blank mask and already she was darting into her opponents guard, moving at only half her normal speed. There was a theory that equally skilled users of the Jyuuken could 'cancel' one another's attacks. She put that theory to the test, lashing out to initiate the first of thirty two strikes.
“Guessing everyone's else is late,” Amaji muttered. She wondered what he was talking about; and again, why he wore those stupid glasses. Her reflections became the cold stare that bore out through her eyes, her lips pulled into a thin frown.
“So what was the point of this meeting?” And therein she learned why Amaji had sought to bother her. He was under the misunderstanding that a meeting had been called; their had been no meeting scheduled, not by her hand, and so she hand't a clue to what he was referring.
"There is no meeting, but since you are here - " she sized him up, eyeing him from head to toe, as if weighing him, "you and I can spar."
Before Hime could move, Tensa entered the room, drawing her brief attention. These two particular cousins of hers would be excellence sparring partners, she decided - hopefully they would be skilled enough to push her to the next level.
"Tensa-kun will join us."
She stood from the chair in one smooth motion and walked into the dojo. It was a vast space, with white walls and bamboo floors. It was clear that she expected them to follow without further prompting - they were, mere cousins, after all.
"Jyuuken only. We will of course have to refrain from actually closing one another's tenketsu, so..." I ventured to the rear of the dojo to dig around in a file cabinet. I returned with a bucket of red paint. "We will dip our fingers in paint."
The girl, slight with long dark hair and pale skin the color of porcelain, entered the shop with the air of a princess. She didn't glance at the items lining the aisles, or at the attendant waiting at the counter - she walked briskly to the weights display, and grabbed a thick, sturdy pair of training weights.
She walked to the counter, dropped the required ryo on the counter, and left, all without uttering a single word.
Training Weights Rank: A Type: Accessory / Self Special: 'C' ranked version is for Tai Tertiaries; 'B' for Tai Secondaries; finally, 'A' ranked version is for Taijutsu Primaries. When worn, all leg related Taijutsu is improved by the equivalent weight rank. When removed, a large speed boost is gained, equal to double the user's normal speed, and lasts for as many turns as the user had the weights equipped for. Can only be removed for a boost once per thread. Description: Though an old fashioned training method, taijutsu specialists use these extremely heavy weights to increase their speed and movement. These weights are usually worn under the warmers on the user's lower legs. When removed, the user gains a great increase in their speed and mobility. The weights are marked with the kanji for "guts". Cost: 10,000 (prices per sets of 2 weights!)
Don't have a myspace, don't rp on yahoo, never rp'd in a chat... I've done anime, star wars, DBZ, and random shit on Pokemasters back in the day...
It sounds like god-modding because you're talking about fighting with characters that have no limits besides the ones you give them. I make a telepathic superman with the sharingan eye on this sight of yours.. wtf is any other character gonna be able to do? They can respond with Jesus, and then you just have too unbeatable entities wasting time trying to one-up one another...
I'll stick to this site, but thanks anyway.
I had - and still have - the most EXP on the site, and my first character died by a kunai and a tag. Not any uber techniques - unless you count the Sharingan.
And I'm not doubting your skill - I haven't a clue who you are - I'm doubting your character. And people will doubt your skill until you prove otherwise.
This isn't the way.
RP moar, make good posts, cream a few guys in the arena... then people will be praising your name as the next big thing since the last guy to do the same thing.
Her cousin - an ANBU - had brought her news of the newly elected Hokage shortly after the Samurai had entrusted him with the position. She didn't agree with the vote, for she was firstly and forever loyal to the Hyuuga - she believed that Ichijin would have been a much better choice. Her opinion of Kaname...
What a boob.
The compound had been rebuilt from the revenue generated by the sails of hidden Hyuuga treasures, far more grand in the wake of war than it had been before it. Hime lounged comfortably in the cool evening breeze below a window in a sitting room that bordered the training facility - she was due for a spar at anytime now, and wanted to be close by enough to avoid reprimand from the remaining Hyuuga elders...
They held high hopes for her, after all!
The compound was oddly empty, or at least quiet... where were all her brethren?
