Before the Kunai's could've been zoomed past his position, the Hyuuga performed a leaping pivot with his leading footing with all the power he could possible summon within his legs and spun like a dreidel.

Considering timing and the actions implicated, it’s kind of farfetched to assume this action alone, would occur well before my Kunai even reached your location. While ten meters is a modest distance, the window of opportunity narrows significantly when an object, in fast motion, is moving towards an approaching object—similarly in fast motion. To recognize the offensive, rescind your prepared technique (The seals the Hyūga were forming, thus canceling that circulation of chakra), leap, spin while dually releasing chakra into a spin, mid-air (Mind you, while you gained some momentum, you wouldn’t have had much considering not only was your sprint short-lived, you don’t develop more energy to strengthen the spin mid-air). With this in mind, to do what you did, at the drop of the dime, is quite implausible, at least to the extent to nullify my Kunai extremely prematurely, but to accurately deflect them back at me. Also, taking into the fact you interrupted my actions before the intended results; I’m inclined to do the same.

Foolhardy was the man who attacked blinded by ambition alone. An object in motion will continue to stay in motion until stopped by an equal, opposing force; the logic in this methodical concept couldn’t have been proven any truer on this day. The Hyūga progressed, aligned with his opposition while the Kunai were offset to his sides. The gap had diminished much but all actions were visible. The instant the boy took his leap of fate, would the Kunai have already been in position—along his sides. Voracious flames and consuming smoke of the densest quality would ensue with the activation of a single seal¹. There would be no time to execute whatever flamboyant stunt he attempted to pull while going airborne, and while premature in its design, Ryūsuke was still content with its range and potential end result—the death of the Hyūga, and all possible residual damage to his close quarter allies.

In an attempts to escape from the blast radius and residual effects did the Uchiha quickly, with a burst of speed, launch off to his left². The instantaneous array of dense smoke acting as both a shroud and safeguard as the Anbu operative moved in swift sequence, 10 meters away. Following in perfection succession, however, a series of bullet-like projectiles swiveled by his flame, aimed at the being before him who was occupied with his own affairs at the moment. Finally reinforcements had arrived. Not bothering taking his sights off his target, Ryūsuke would begin planning his second wave; hands swiftly completing a string of seals as he awaited their move. The bugs, at least a large segment of them should have been wiped out in the explosion; nonetheless, Ryūsuke remained steadfast, analyzing all appropriately.

Standing in the heart of the insolvent city once more, the Uchiha looked upon his opponent. The sun still promptly crutched deeply into the heavens, this beauteous weather would usher in yet another array of slaughter. Hopefully, like the last, this dispute would end with absolute zero crimson flooding the city’s broken streets. His opponent almost exactly as far from him as his first, Ryūsuke did little to hide his armor inserts, though favored not wearing the mask as much. It was time, his body tensed and prepared to react on whim, and he awaited his opponent to respond.

He spoke once more, which seemingly signaled quite the gratuitous retaliation. Each and every one of the onlookers soon took to a diverse offensive, and Ryūsuke would be quite to respond. An Anbu—a trained Shinobi outfitted for all circumstances, while he was surprised, his body and mind acted almost intuitively and instantaneously.

Concurrently and as swift as the wind itself, both hands retreated to their respective, sides, only to clasp on top two tailored Kunai, the one along his right being the more affected of the two. With strong, quick upward tosses and pinpoint accuracy, would they soar towards their relevant destinations. The one on the left aimed between the rushing man and the stationary grunt, meant to pass the approaching. The second mirroring the first, but on the opposite side, rushing between the impending swarm and the Hyūga. When faced with a swarm, it was best to eliminate the mass as quickly as possible. Nonetheless, at such an angle, and with minimal obstructions in this open vicinity, even without his Sharingan, was Ryūsuke conscious of the newly arrived forth party; they were well-prepared and structured.

Hurriedly did his hands come together, forming a single seal (this would parallel with the Soushi’s retrieval of his kunai) as the twin projectiles reached their intersections, would a roar of untold might ensue¹. The one off to the right expanding in both range and voracity then its left counterpart, attempting to disband, it not incinerate the amassing swarm, but its creator as well or inflict whatever damage possible. Inadverently, would the explosions’ force alone, most likely prematurely detonate the opposition’s Kunai adding to his already explosive range, or deflect it.

His steps were loose yet simple & refined, allowing him to breach the three meter threshold -presuming he would've gotten that far- as he moved with above average (x2) speeds.

Likewise to the opposing side, Ryūsuke created a pincer with an explosive additive. And while not ignorant to the approaching swarm that hovered over the Hyūga, Ryūsuke did understand why the man stopped mid-rush, though it wouldn’t matter, for he would be forced to accept damage from both sides unless he acted quickly, stopping just several meters from the Uchiha. Flames, clouds and metal shrapnel, it didn’t look well for the Hyūga, though Ryūsuke wouldn’t abate.

Immediately following the execution of his seal did the Jōnin flank off to his left in a sprint, all the while, keeping his sights upon his work. His hidden executor secured upon his right hand, he was primed for close quarters, for now however, he would try to keep his distance to analyze. An Aburame, A Hyūga, and an unknown, he thought to himself as he moved with diligence in his step and attentiveness in his actions.

Fuubaku Houjin is a Ninjutsu technique used by shinobi in conjunction with common explosive devices such as exploding notes. With this, the user can choose when their explosives detonate, opposed to being at the mercy of a countdown.

And there he sat, boringly peering into the sky in front of the grand Konohagakure Gates. So this is chastisement for my defect? Thanks, Kohana, sarcastic were his thoughts, so thankful he was, nonetheless. He didn’t expect to be as well-received upon returning home. Nonetheless, as a Jōnin of the Hidden Leaf, he was anticipated to do a number of duties; this just happened to be one of them at the discretion of his Hokage. Propped in the most nominal of chairs, he would lean back, allowing the rear legs to boost all support while he rested his back upon the wooden stronghold. Maybe someone would come along and relieve him of his duties; maybe he could have an assistant of sorts.

Anbus were spread evenly along the Gate’s ceiling routes, though with the former Hokage on duty, the guards and other Shinobi lagged on their own obligations. Where his attendance lacked, his strength was all the more palpable. No one would get in, and those who were expected to stay within the Village wouldn’t leave, no, not under his watchful eyes. Hopefully something would happen and as much as he feared wishing harm upon his own homeland, he did expect some confrontation to occur. It would relieve him of his stress and not doubt push his attentiveness into gear when he was required to show his fangs.

“Just one day of this.”

Tonight would be a night would be end in hours, but never would it be forgotten in history.

“Anything you want, Ryū-boy! It’s on the house, and an invariable applaud resonated through the daintily festooned vestibule. Mr. Takirama—owner and life-long friend to the man who would be held in the highest regards tonight, made it his personal goal to treat the Uchiha to nothing but the best. He had been gone, and for far too long did many whimper, mourn and quarrel. Tonight would be something totally different; happiness would grace the streets and those that once shed tears in the absence of the eminent Niidaime would come together and share smiles and laughter’s—as well as drinks. This was the beauty of tonight, this was the beauty of his return.

As Takirama tended to the myriad orders and recognitions behind the counter, sitting directly in front of him sat none other than Uchiha Ryūuke. Facing outwards as his back rested against the finely carved oak, he peered out into the open. People assembling in the masses, from all over the districts which comprised Konohagakure would come together, in this modest-sizes tavern to show both appreciation and deference to the fallen hero. Candles and lanterns spread amply around the village, lighting each street to perfection, music of all genres and moods mellowed out the luxurious lightshow as laughter and conversation were spread consistently; it was almost like a parade.

And while music reined supreme outside, it was closer to home then one would imagine. Legs crossed, and now prompted on his lap, a wooden masterpiece allowed quite the jovial, methodic tone to seep into the air. Fingers, with the ut-most ease danced along the strings of the luxurious guitar, as Ryūsuke smiled. Been a while since I’ve played one of these, though it seemed his muscles retrained quite the memory, for the tone couldn’t have been any more faultless, and the air which surrounded him couldn’t have been any more accepting. Harmonious and tuneful mastery aside, Ryūsuke, unconsciously continuing his play turned his sights upon the smaller Uchiha to his side; the one he felt had a large hand in tonight’s orchestrating.

“Thank you, Ashura. It’s good to finally be home.” His words couldn’t have been more earnest and his smile, none the more radiant as peered upon the reason for his existence. His cheeks, flushed a light rose, it seemed the Sake and other concoctions he had ingested earlier were finally settling in, however it was none the more truer—his words—wouldn’t be tarnished by something as superficial as drinking.

Hmm?, his curiosity peaking at his students rather odd conversion in words, and for a moment, he knew the boy was up to something. Maybe another surprise? It mattered little (or so he thought) and with that, would his golden hues turn back to what resided directly in front of him—a party. Countless danced, talked, walked by with grins plastered upon their faces; having the time of their lives and all for what? His return? No, this was something much more and held more weight than one’s simple return home. This was a reunion of a family, a friendship, a dedication—this was what Ryūsuke lived for.

As his scanned the crow, however, one individual did stick out amongst the masses. Blonde waves cascading freely and deep red clothing a figure meant for the perpetual, Ryūsuke’s perfect stream would momentarily break—his tune changing drastically before gathering himself almost immediately. Having fixed the error in his guitar playing, he continued to look out with calm eyes and soft, though mature features. Taking a hand away from the center of his acoustic instrument, he reached to his side and took hold of a small sake cup; taking a drink of it, his eyes never leaving the multitude.

Who is that?

He mused, careful not to spill his drink on his modern selection; raven dress pants with an equating color for his vest, all over an ironed, pressed white shirt. The top buttons unfastened as the night moved on, the former Hokage inadvertently had lost hold of his tie and cufflinks; nonetheless, it mattered little, his intentions where elsewhere at the moment. Ashura would surely notice.

"So is Kohana still the hokage?" A conversation best kept within the village, the former leader was curious. Surely, his student and by all means, son, would inform him later. As the two strolled inwards, allowing the gate to close behind, a smile was evident upon the man's face. Oh, the feeling it was to be home again.
