Haru had by no means expected or even fathomed his journey to Kumogakure no Sato would be so arduous and demanding. He had remained cautious throughout his travels, but even more so along this hazardous terrain. It would’ve been tragic, having already come so far, for him to die now. He didn’t plan on letting that happen; although, both the condition he was in and the ones he faced were harsh. However, he was a tough kid, and would use these experiences to fuel his determination, rather than let it halt him even in the slightest.
He was nearly freezing at his current elevation; the fact that he was soaked simply fueled the cold that embraced him. He was high enough to be face to face with clouds, which were creating a thick mist that made it very difficult to see. He forced himself to say it wasn’t too bad, nothing would hinder the young Hyūga’s pace as he trudged on. Night would eventually fall as he continued, and it was at this point he would notice his current path was leading into a large pine forest. The mass of trees were nestled in between two colossal, intimidating, snow-capped mountains.
He had a strange feeling he was getting close; the boy truly hoped so, for with all his determination, he was still unsure how much longer he could manage. He hadn’t noticed how spoiled he and the rest of his Hyūga peers had been until now; it was almost a handicap, as he had never before faced such adversity. After much thought, he would push himself forward, and was now slowly making his way along the worn path. The effort it took him to walk grew with each passing second; fortunately, this would be forgotten as a new path finally presented itself.
Haru knew this was it — a small path deep within the country, inside an unimportant forest that could have easily been overlooked due to the scenery surrounding it. If this ended up being a dead-end, he decided he’d probably have to call it quits for the day; he was exhausted, and his body was on the brink of giving out. For now, he’d simply follow this fresh path, hoping with everything inside him that it did in fact lead to Kumo. Several painful, grueling minutes passed, eventually the former Konoha-nin would find himself in front of a large cliff wall.
Rocks protruded from it in an odd fashion, almost as if they were stairs. He’d stare at it for a few moments before choosing to go ahead and climb up. It wouldn’t take too long, but, nonetheless, was still very strenuous. More rocky terrain was set ahead of him, though his Byakugan could make out a small spec of color off in the distance. He’d eye it with excitement, now setting off faster than he had ever before. Due to fatigue, he'd actually fall a few times; regardless, Haru would ultimately arrive within about 50 meters of the hidden village’s gates.
“i-i did it.. i'm here!!”
