The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
The time to take action was peeking over the horizon as the two shinobi laid low like a crew cut in the encompassing darkness. Hiko felt a mixed feeling in his gut that was simiilar to an ahtletes when the national anthem was being sung prior to the cllimatic genisis of a championship game. No he wasn't nervous at the prospect of the soon transpiring events, but excited at what was going to happen. Perhaps the element of danger fueled this reflex or maybe it was due to the chance of him being able to start creating some value for his ninja village.
Soon a shallow noise sneakingly resonated in the direction of a particular window. It was beginning and the magnetic dominion that the Zantetsuken have sovereign control over began to stir. Promptly, chakra the engine to fuel all shinobi techniques was being prepped in conjunction with the unfolding situation, including when the window close to him was being jarred open. That's when the shinobi decided to creep away and distanced his self from the fracture. As he gravitated towards the counter, Kaede made their presence known.
The sudden exposure had happened to be part awkward, part gratifying, and part confusion. So now what? The men eyed the two shinobi briefly, but in the minds of both parties some shit was going to pop off
After the constricting handshake the stake was now made official. As the challenge was offered, and the challenge had been accepted, now when the bad guys had arrived and the dust had settled there would be a victor, but whom?
Judging from the external enthusiasm expressed by his mission partner, it had indicated that this thing should be taken very serious, but it wasn’t like Hiko wasn’t already going to take the wager with a businesslike approach. In fact he was going to do his very greatest not to lose the wager against the adolescent, however one of the primary reason for the wager besides trying to get a free meal was that competition always seemed to bring out the best in an individual, and it definitely snatched out the finest in Hiko.
Seconds later his orange one-piece suit wearing teammate gave heads up that the lights would be turned off, which indicated that now the predators would lay in wait on their prey. In a way Hiko felt sorry for the unsuspecting victims as instead of an empty home or a defenseless family they could brutally mug. They were going to run into killers in the making, somehow he knew the look on their faces would be priceless.
Taking his post in the entryway of the hallway, the Zantetsuken eyes would stare down the very path to the other rooms, then the lemon optics would glance back every now and again to the rear of the house and Kaede’s position, this was just in case they thought they could slip through the backdoor. It seemed all points were covered, still in their line of work one must be prepared at the slightest change as things usually don’t fall into place as they should and at that moment the top to Kanayama’s gourd was unsealed by right hand.
The words that Kaede spoke abruptly towards the genin’s motives for being a shinobi were taken in with humility that only could be returned with gratefulness, ”….Thanks.” Hiko’s gratitude crawled through the darkness in a low tone towards his colleague’s general vicinity.

The blonde haired boy's reply to Hiko’s question would be taken as plain and simple to the majority of the ears willing to listen. However to the more observant audience, it was deep and meaningful. Just a smooth goal to make his guardians proud, it was one that showed a meek demeanor. Which was like breath of fresh air to Hiko's mental, as the mainstream new breed of shinobi often viewed themselves as the next big thing. It was a case of too many chiefs and not enough Indians, "Hell, I'm sure your Ma and Pa are already proud of you Kaede. You graduated from the academy and that's no small feat ya know.” Afterwards the Zantetsuken rose from his spot at the table and reequipped his gourd back onto his upper torso’s posterior. He slowly made his way towards the front rank of the house. Slyly standing to the right of a window, the ginger haired nin foxily peered out a small opening of the window. Although his attention seemed to be focused elsewhere he still was very attentive to the conversation at hand.
When the genin had made a reference to his tall stature, Hiko smirked about it and turned away from his former lookout spot back to the right side of table where he stood calmly and spoke up on the manner, ”Yeah well …you should see my grandfather. I’m talking he has me by seven to eight inches easy. Looks like a freakin’ human giant man.”
Finally the last part that needed to be addressed was his own question being returned fired, which was not difficult to answer and so the nin let the words escape, ”More than anything …I want to return the respect the blood flowing through my veins once had. To climb out the shadow of nothingness and return the Zantetsuken back to prominence. That is all I want really. And if I leave a legacy in my wake …so be it.” Upon finishing his statement Hiko looked off towards the window and the ever diminishing light, ”I guess we should prep for the invasion, but let’s make a wager? Whoever takes out the most bandits win …and a bowl of ramen is the reward on the loser’s behalf? What da ya say?” The taller shinobi eventually stuck his hand out in order turn the oral agreement into a binding contract.
Though the gear would seem like something of a fashion faux pas for anyone else, it somehow was very befitting to his overall look. It was as if he could, and only he alone could pull off that orange one-piece suit.
Judging from the unknown boy's initial greeting it would appear or at least Hiko got the impression maybe the kid forgot this was a team mission. As the two stood by in the doorway, Hiko wasn't sure if the lemon headed youth phrase was a rhetorical device or not towards his reasoning for being there, so he decided to play it safe and gave the adolescent a firm upward head nod to indicate he was the individual that was to be his partner.
Now the next statement surely was a question, one that Hiko would answer back playfully, "Yeah, you could say that but...." Taking his right hand that was horizontally positioned palm down, he motioned it over the blondes head and replied, "...I guess you haven't quite hit that growth spurt yet huh?" Afterward Hiko lightheartedly grinned and hoped he wouldn't be offended by his attempt at humor. Following in after the boy, Hiko had abruptly closed the door behind them.
The words that flowed next were simply a assessment of things and where the two currently stood in the plot of the situation. This finally led into a greeting where the young lad would present the given name Kaede.
"The names Kanayama-hiko, but just call me Hiko for short or you can put your own spin to it." The teen responded and shrugged carelessly as he placed his gourd upon the floors surface with a casual thud.
Hiko's yellow orbs inconjuction with a rotating head and a contorting neck observed the house before finally occupying a seat across from Kaede, "So why did you become a shinobi? The Zantetsuken bursted and wasn't sure if that for a first question was too personal or too boring or just inappropriate. He had just wished he wasn't making the notion that he was some sort of stiff.

So today's mission for Konoha's god of metal was not to be of the solo variety. It seemed on this escapade he was to be paired with a random teammate according to his mission specs. Just who? Well at this point that was the million dollar question now wasn't it? Hopefully it wasn't some being who suffered from a intolerable god complex or some narcissistic ass clown that damn near viewed themselves as the Hokage.
'I wonder ...a girl or a boy? Someone shorter or taller? Ah, maybe it is some Uchiha badass? Yeeaahh ...No! A female Uchiha badass ...that's what I'm sticking with for now.' The very thought made the metallic manipulator cross his fingers in a metaphorical sense.
In the end for Hiko it was truly difficult to get a grasp on just who he would be working with, with any luck it would be a 5 star kunoichi as his thoughts suggested, which is what he was wishing and anticipating upon his arrival.
Currently the genin was making his way to the mission site via rooftop bounding in lieu of traveling the congested streets. The gourd that was strapped to his back made the feat quite cumbersome and difficult, but it showed a testament to his esoteric physical strength.
When he had finally arrived, he landed with a slight bend of the knees as his body artfully absorbed the force generated by his decent. Standing to his fully erected form, the home that the mission details description gave him, now was placed ten meters from his field of vision. Prior to approaching the architecture his yellow orbs would soak in his surroundings.
The neighborhood was a quaint looking place, and it gave him a uneasy feeling. Shrugging off his minor agitation, the Zantetsuken journeyed the short distance to the doorstep and knocked four times.
What? He wasn't rude or nothing? Not like he just was going to invite himself in. Before the door could be pried open he sighed deeply and a lone fleeting thought flashed, 'Time to make Konoha a safer place...'

The attentive cast that was reflecting back at him from the crowd of citizens soon would shift, and life was to resume where it had left off. As the bodies moved around him and this person with that way, and another went this way. An elderly gray haired male approached the genin, looked him over as if he could measure the youth’s inner strength and grinned before leaving the teen with some parting words of encouragement, ”It’s refreshing to know shinobi like you still exist in such chaotic times. Also know this …the world of the ninja is a dark place, it can warp you for the worse or strengthen you for the best, but in the end remember that, that choice is ultimately yours. And if you didn’t reach them all, know at least you may have reached one person.” The old man then patted the gourd toting nin on the shoulder, subsequent to him shuffling off and disappearing among the traffic of people.
’That was rather hopeful. So the choice is mine huh?’ The Zantetsuken sighed deeply before entering back into the land of thoughts, ’But life is built on choices right?’ The genin inwardly rationalized.
Shoving his hands within his pockets the genin of Konoha would make his way out of the market area, as if nothing happened, as if on this day he didn’t try to get shit done. But hopefully he gave some room for his Hokage to build an able-bodied nation.
"....Those who decide to thrive on self-centeredness will only thrive for so long. Only to go on living like that to me is just a shell of an existence. However the will of fire keeps us strong and gives us substance. Just like I did, just like the Hokage did, just like any other leaf shinobi ...we have made a pact when accepting our villages headband, that we will love, believe, cherish, and fight for the sake of all of Konoha and it's people ...just like our past generations ...our ancestors. For this I can wholeheartedly put faith in a man I have yet to meet. How is trust ever to be earned if not given? How is our Hokage supposed to be strong for you? If you give him no faith?" The constituents that were composed of his listeners would wonder if the mere teen understood his own concepts and the gravity in with which he spoke. Hiko though was well aware of the delicacy of this minor scenario and the major implications this had on the Hokage's legacy.
After pausing briefly, the Zantetsuken would begin, but his next declaration would be of short duration, "So I ask. What is 'King' to you? Meaning what do you fight to protect? ...are you willing to accept our new Hokage who wishes to carry on the will of fire as did the Hokage's of past generations? I am...."
A man was fitted to yell another outburst, but the ginger just simply stepped down from the higher ground. Many faces stared upon him. His yellow colored eyes could only glare back, for Hiko it was very intimidating. He didn't know what to expect or what to do really. Except there is one thing he noticed. The skeptical faces that mocked him in the beginning, were now seen as thoughtful looks.
Hiko didn’t realize how much of an idiot he was being with his patriotic outburst until after. Yes. He was captain hindsight, ’Eh? That was a little cheesy…’ As looked upon the moderately mass of people, half his lips would curl at the thought preceding his continuance, ’Remember you’re an extension of our Hokage, so don’t act like ONE! Be one!’ Afterwards immediately following the though the young nin brought a clinched fist to his mouth clearing his throat. Subsequent to his recent action a voice of someone spoke out from the crowd, ”So what the hell is it boy?”
That’s when Hiko decided to dive in, ”Today I am speaking on behalf of our Hokage. I, Zantetsuken Kanayama-hiko a genin of the village am going to be a vessel of his will of the very man we all revere and hold in high regards. I am going to be honest with you frankly. Never have I met this man or held a conversation with him once. Never have I saw him. Yet-“
A random lone woman in the crowd rudely interrupted the boy cutting off his speech, ”You have never met this man? Yet you hold him in high regards? How are we supposed to know your words aren’t some words from a dog of the military?” More began to stop, also some snickered at the ladies comment as it seemed now Hiko was being picked on.
’Fuck! No one said this was going to be easy.’ The genin reaffirmed in his mind. He still held his poise and savvy like a veteran quarterback being blitzed on seven step drop back, ”You ask yourselves why do I hold a man that I never met in high regards? No, it’s not just based on the fact he is our Kage, but more so on the ‘Will of the Fire’ You the people of Konoha do still believe that this will exists? If you don’t then ask yourselves, why do you get up every morning? What drives you? A selfish fool will say ryo, a selfish fool would say power, a selfish fool would say war, and a selfish fool would say me or I. The one’s living that path will only fuel a drive to self-destruction……
The blond had returned a coolly animated nod of his own, which was a notification to Hiko that things were ‘cool’ for now. Still the male was nameless and surely that would change in the next moment or two, granted Konoha didn’t somehow enter into a state of emergency and all shinobi were called to arms.
Now the question he had asked the silver haired youngling was not returned with an answer, but another question. Don’t ya just hate that? The crimson shirt wearing nin was slightly confused, and his facial expression matched his current dumbfounded state of mind, ’I thought the question was pretty straightforward? But he does seem a bit unnerved? Perhaps that was a misfire Hiko……’ As he finished his thoughts the nin would look off briefly before returning his focus back onto the setting.
Taking a step back, or maybe he was faded to the background. Either way the Zantetsuken remained standing with his hands still shoved deep in his pockets and his gourd strapped to his back idly. Judging from the boy’s reaction toward the blond the two knew of one another. In fact the blond was viewed as a big brother.
Finally when the youth introduced himself, he had introduced himself as Isshin. The name was rather unique and it was the first person whose given name started with an I that Hiko had ever met. The other male exchanged words with him, but to Hiko’s knowledge he had no clue what the hell he was referencing to, then he spoke to the man himself, Konoha’s god of metal.
His opener was weak, but Hiko knew he had good intensions, so the need for a proper and real introduction was in place, ”The names Zantetsuken Kanayama-hiko, but most people that know me just call me Hiko for short or whatever helps you remember. Sorry bout’ that Isshin that I only gave you a portion of my name. It’s a hard world out here with identity theft and all(Bullshit excuse). So you two know each other I assume? And just what are you guy’s doing out here wondering these parts? Me …uh to be honest I was trying to find some female and be her prince charming …hehe.” A chilled smirk presented itself temporarily, nonetheless that was the honest to god’s truth, now just what drove these two out here is another story that, if they would tell Hiko would listen.
Slowly but surely things were starting to fall into place for Hiko as the scene and just who these two were started to unveil itself. Who know’s why or what had gathered the three shinobi at this point, but so far their company was a welcomed change of pace.
Satetsu Ryuuken (Iron-Sand Dominion) Rank: D, C, B, A, S Type: Supplementary / Ninjutsu / Kekkei Genkai Range: 0 - 50 meters Chakra: Low - Massive Special: Dominion extends 10 meters in every direction of the user, and goes up 10 more with each rank learned.
Description: The basis behind the majority of satetsu techniques lie in the user's ability convert their chakra into magnetic waves in order to control the very grains of iron sand all around them. 'Iron Sand Dominion' is just as its name implies, a fundamental supplementary jutsu of the Zantetsuken clan that allows the user to intermingle their chakra with that of nature, harmonizing the two in order to create complete control over the magnetic waves around them. Once this link is achieved, the door is opened for greater creations to be made. Domain: Zantetsuken.
At what speed does the sand for this Jutsu travel at when you make it attack? or move it to spot A to spot B? For example, does it travel at the speed of a kunai or like at the speed of a arrow shot from a compound bow? Or can it be measured in, and comparable to meters per second? And does rank factor in? Also at what rank will you be able to build your own gourd out of your own iron sand?
And a second question is, just HOW MUCH volume of liquid/sand/whatever else can be kept in C, then B, and A ranking Gourd individually? Like for example, a bath tub volume? Or can it be compared to pool sizes?

So now that his mission was set, he needed to fully study his assignment in order to fully grasp the way of how to complete his objective. His eyes begin to chew through the context of the mission description, next would come a plan.
With a new Hokage taking Office, words of both his ambitions and promise are expected to ease the populace. However how do such words of support arrive at the masses without a catalysis? Today you will act as that medium; stepping out of your own glare of publicity to help further promote not only the aspirations of you leader, but the ‘Will of Fire’ in which he models his beliefs after in such a profound context. Konohagakure if expecting much from their Fire Shadow, however he’s counting on you to help spread the peace by sharing his words of encouragement.
’This seems simple and easy, but actually this is tougher than I had predicted now that I think about it. How do I vouch for a man I truly don’t know is the real question? I know nothing of his deeds, his life just the stories that I have heard. Not to mention in order to be Hokage one must be a powerful individual not just in body, but more importantly in mind.’ The nin did all this thinking before he even set one foot out of the residency. Rolling up the mission parchment, a huff of air escaped his lungs signaling a bit of confused frustration. The genin ensuing his skeptical outlook would set foot out upon the beautiful day that Konoha birthed on many occasions.
As he trekked he knew that the best place to perform such an act would be the market place. Yet how would he garner the attention of a buyer who was busy on getting the cheapest prices or a seller who was trying to maximize profits or even the window shopper.
The dark clothed body made it to his endpoint, the market. Where vendors had seemed to be were set up everywhere and shops doors were open with welcoming arms. Looking about he needed a high perch where he could easily project his voice to the masses that were willing to listen. In the midst of the market place was a fountain with an outer edge that could serve as a perfect station for his efforts. Once he was situated atop the surface, a few eyes already began to look his way, chiefly because of the way he dressed and the large gourd that rested on his back, additionally his equipment was a dead giveaway of his affiliation with the world of shadows.
”People of Konoha!....”
Bodies continued to move about not heeding the teen's words, but tardily more looked up to see what was happening, No matter Hiko had to continue, ”People of Konoha! Soon more stopped and though he only had a handful, the genin would begin…..
Aimlessness is what had seemed to be driving the footsteps of a particular Konoha genin. A grunt by the name of Hiko, who at the moment was in more of a at ease mood, something categorized as less tense and more casual. His yellow eyes gazed in awe at the cascading pink butterflies that were cherry blossom leaves as they had been set free by a contemporary breeze that swept through.
On this day the Zantetsuken opted out of his standard charcoal gray and black gear, though his gourd was still present. Instead the carrot head wore a red t-shirt with Konoha’s emblem boldly designed in white as it was proudly stamped on his shirt's front. Complementing the shirt were cargo tan shorts and on his feet the nin sported geta that clogged along the concrete path with each step taken. His unhurried pace was smooth and methodical, and though one may have thought his path to be goalless. Hiko did have a reason that guided him to this very spot, what is it you say? Women of course.
Women loved the beauty of the Sakura trees and what a setting such as this had to offer. Hiko being the perceptive male that he was would take the opportunity to woo these females with his unrivaled charm or at least that’s what the folklores of his life point to.
Yet as fate would have it he would not run into females, but males, and to be honest it was quite comical really. Large in part because know neighboring the area was a blond, a silver, and a ginger species of hair color, ’How odd, three males in a Sakura forest, might be kind of suspect to an outsider looking in.’ Shaking his motherfuckin head with a large grin on his face, the iron sand demon approached from the left flank. The blond seemed very cautious in his method, Hiko with hands shoved deep in his pockets dove in fearlessly, and looked over at the blond giving a slight head nod upwards as to say ‘sup’ He noted the man hand on the hilt of of his blade, it was sad really that in these troubling times a shinobi feared every twist and turn of life's corner, hopefully trust among the leaf's shinobi would begin to grow and Hiko didn't mind being a catalyst.
So when you didn’t know many in the village. What better opportunity than the present right? ”So you thinking about girls right? It started at about your age for me too.” The teen’s voice would carry a drifting tone to the shorter gray headed boy. It was obvious he was younger, but there truly was no way of really knowing so he just took a chance, ”Oh, how rude of me. The names Hiko, a genin of Konoha.” a smile would be shown after his introduction and know the Zantetsuken would await a response, if he needed to repeat his name to the approaching blond the necessary steps would be taken to reintroduce himself.
As the genin turned about the bend of a building. Lips took form and a long drawn out whistle followed as he continued to march towards his anticipated destination. It had suddenly peaked and over the span of it's life would slowly diminish into silence. So why did the iron sand demon release the whistle that usually signaled something impressive, be it an act or structure? Because when his lemon hue optics initially laid sight upon prominence. To be more specific the place where the foundation of the village roosted, the fire shadow. He had no other choice but to respect a marvel when he had seen one, which was none other than the Hokage's residence to be exact.
'So is this where the tax dollars go?' The witty internal wisecrack brought a brief smile across the cynical nin's mug. Ahead of taking his first step inside the guts, Hiko remained outside the entrance for a short lived moment. As to properly admire the composition in full detail, so he broke his neck to scan every inch of the make-up, 'Damn ...I could get use to a place like this ...And I definitely didn't think it would resemble something like this?'
Surely those that were walking around him, shinobi and citizen alike who saw this place as a common sight now had found the adolescent's interest refreshing. They had lightly eyed the curious teen strangely before continuing on with their everyday life. When Hiko was satisfied with the drinkability of the viewing, the reddish brown haired youth had casually entered.
It was immediately noted that the place was a full plate within the walls. As individuals were actively moving about, and on one side you had your citizens who were filling for new jobs to be completed, then on your other side you had the dutiful shinobi that were ready to complete them.
Looking about the nin had no clue how the process worked. That is till he separated the denizens from the shinobi, and was able to spot the mission board. Pretty soon the gourd carrying entity found his self face-to-face with his duties, now which mission would it be is the question?
Restless eyes moved from one assignment to the next. Happening at about the same time, a mental conversation ensued paired with a thoughtful facial expression. 'Hmph? What would be appropriate? Wha-' His inner ramblings were interrupted as the flash memory of Goro and his dreams of being a Hokage would in the end influence his outcome.

A lone ginger haired figure with hands buried deep in his pockets strapped with a gourd attached to his back along with other shinobi equipment, trekked his way through the shoddier side of Konoha’s settlement. A place where inevitably the village drunks stumbled through, prostitution happened but didn’t happen if you know what I mean, and the less privileged ended up claiming throne to the shacks that for the normal would be considered storage space, but to them it was thought of as home. Why was the 6’2” male journeying in the middle of such a place, well because surprisingly it was his site of origin of course, but one would not be able to decipher that from the garbs that dressed his entire being. However the outside spectator could only imagine, but really have no clue as to how the boy could afford such things that walked on the finer side of life.
’I hope auntie and uncle will be ok till I return. Fuck! …Eh what am I saying? …I know they’ll be ok.
With each passing step the surrounding structures architecture conditions got better and the road he walked got cleaner, but before the male could make his exit from one district to the next, a couple of boys ran up to greet the one the world would know as Zantetsuken Kanayama-hiko who would stop in his very tracks in order to converse with the little ones.
”Hiko! Hey Hiko! Where ya off to? More ninja cool stuff? …Errr more cool ninja stuff?” The excited tone that echoed came from that of a child, a dark haired boy whose clothing was rough around the edges, but despite his circumstances he held a good heart.
”So you off to whoop some ass! Is what Goro really meant.” The next boy with the bad mouth was a wild golden headed lad who had shared a similar tattered image as his dark haired counterpart. He had made a tightly clinched fist that was raised around the level of his façade after his sharp comment.
The Zantetsuken grinned at the pairs enthusiasm as his yellow orbs momentarily turned into thin smiling slits before expanding and shining like the sun, ”I guess you can say that, going to go pick up a mission. So did you guys get signed up for the academy? I made a strong case to each of your parents and hopefully they followed through.”
Goro would snap with a response first shaking his head eagerly up and down, and prior to speaking he seized a heroic pose. As his chest proudly pushed out and his fists were planted firmly on his hips, ”Yup they did! And you’re looking at the next Hokage.”
Tsuyoshi would follow Goro’s statement with a claim of his own, ”Me too, but I’m going to be stronger than the Hokage!” He immediately shot a challenging glare at Goro, which the onyx haired child responded to promptly, ”No! No one is stronger than the Hokage!” Tsuyoshi violently retorted in reaction, ”Yes huh!” Hiko only knew theoretically that situations like this could only get worse up until the point fists would begin to fly, so naturally he would step in to calm the boys. Not to mention he was in bit of a hurry to undertake his first mission.
”Whoa, whoa, whoa! You two both are going to be strong, I know it.” With that Hiko rubbed both boys on top of their heads roughly like a playful big brother, precedent to saying his goodbyes and continuing along his way to the Hokage’s residence where he would then proceed in the mission selection process.
