Kusa no Kuni. . .
. . . It was so peaceful there.
In the days following the war against Sunagakure, Bass found himself spending more and more time in the comforting canopy and dimly lit forests. From the soft beds of grass to the gentle breezes ushering his clay falcon along, the Iwa-native was becoming more in love with this foreign territory each and every second he spent within its boundaries. With the disappearance of former Tsuchikage, the new appointee suggested the Jounin take some time off.
Much needed time off, mind you.
There was only one destination Bass could think of, and he was there. The bird sifted through the cool air like a phantom, expertly evading the web-like branches and slew of creatures that called this forest home. "I don' wanna go back," he admitted to himself and the silence of the forest as his clay bird continued to glide. He truly didn't. He wished, with all his heart, that he could simply stay here in the forest and live out the rest of his life in peace and solitude.
Up ahead, the path was clear, having widened out into a cleft of sorts. Bass, sitting comfortably on his falcon, leaned back and closed his eyes as he soaked in the chasms of light penetrating the canopy above. Peace, he thought to himself. Why can't I just find peace -- even rusty swords get put away at some point, right? I feel like my time came a long time ago.
Little did the Iwa-nin know, there was a rather unsuspecting surprise ahead of him. A girl hanging from a tree, right in the way of his clay bird. Eyes closed, senses all but dulled, a crash between the two parties seemed almost inevitable.
