The map provided to me on behalf of the Kusakage had been an easy study. Its location was no hidden village, nor was it forbidden so I hastened through its olive wilderness without delay. The timber here was substantial, and each branch was accounted for as precise feet breezed from one wooden platform to the next. A dusk kimono graced my body, as did the scarlet katana, Masanori, which was fastened vertically to my rear. Dragonflies meddled around nearby, and as a refined sensor I was in tune with the life around me. Besides the passing of emerald scenery on both my sides, I could only muse over what type of person I was destined to meet alone out in the deepest parts of Grass country. I had good intentions for our future; I only wondered if they felt the same way.

It was with a curious maroon gaze that my eyes fell upon the first human contact I had crossed paths with for miles. It was no coincidence ~ this woman

With the sun set high in the sky a monarch descended and landed timidly on my stream of raven hair. Then, with a gentle flap of its wings the creature fluttered away into the foliage ~ nature's sign of good fortune. I glimpsed over at the foreign kunoichi bearing as much of a friendly look as I could muster. "You have a beautiful country, you know."

A new face ~ this one female. Yoko slid her the assignments with a favorable smile. On a day off they could both be good friends. But in the meantime a familiar Kei breezed in, though the marine haired girl had swore he was out handling foreign affairs. Even with the surprise she encouraged his flirting. He was probably a good kid at heart, and maybe even a really talented ninja but still just a bit too young to take out on a date. She'd give him three years first.

Special: Murder of crows can only be defeated by a technique of equal rank. Once used, the mental connection to the entire murder of crows is lost and thus they become unusable for any other Akegarasu technique. Furthermore, new crows cannot be summoned until the entire flock has either died or completed their mission. Must be able to summon at least 100 crows.
Description: The finale. Once the crow kings summons their murder, they command them to scatter and converge on their enemy via Sanzengarasu. However, rather than just confusing their enemies by smothering them with crows, the birds gain a temporary rage. As a result, their feathers, claws and beaks momentarily harden and sharpen to that of steel, and the entire mass essentially kamikaze's themselves into the target. What's left of the crow king's victim is...nothing at all. The crows consume everything, leaving only a bloody stump of what once was. Best of all? Once a target is chosen by the user, the crows don't stop until either the target is dead or they are.

I swore my devotion had been noticed. A faint voice came and went like the harbinger of death. This one however was more of a savior, which I at first took to be the words of Atlas ~ except that seemed much too fairy-tail. My lithe frame nearly fell to the ground, mind fading in and out of consciousness. But even in the deepest levels of purgatory I managed to discern actual specter's speech. Promptly I realized that this was all just an examination of my faith. My skin was bleached now, and hands shaking. I wouldn't have been placed into this situation if I could not handle it. So I couldn't die ~ not when there was so much more I wanted to do for the world.

Pain I assumed was the equivalent to that of child birth soon ended, leaving a stinging payoff in its wake. What was left was a midnight swirl pattern. It appeared as a seared tattoo below my collarbone on the heart side. It was a crude marking, almost like a brand. As the ink was fresh, my newly received seal gave off whispers of smoke. Was it now that I officially became daughter of the Black Sun? Within I felt as if I had been offered the energy of immortals ~ deities. My chakras thrived that much now, and I traced narrow fingers over the black mark, embracing its liveliness. It was a feeling like no other, like I had awoken to life for the first time. There were few things more satisfying than starting off with a clean slate.

What occurred next brought worry, though I was much too drained for total hysteria. While the seal gave me inner strength, I knew not off how to harness its full potential as of yet. Therefore with the change in scenery to that of dull meadows and supernatural fog I'd stare out, cherry eyes fastened to the one who had died by the great bridge. He was still watching me, even now. He offered an apology before taking a flash of a step forward, ten meters covered in the thinnest second. What else could I do except watch in awe as he aimed to shatter my heart? The blade moved closer, and I made a last moment decision to shift my weight ~ at least to avoid a lethal stab from the incoming edge if the specter really had forgotten our frequency.

To be completely accurate, I was terrified. Their steps were slow and deliberate ~ like they found pleasure in watching my maniacal gaze. A blessed pair of maroon orbs darted from one mechanical-like specter to the next, inspecting their outstretched arms with a tinge of skepticism. So this was their finale, huh?

If that was the case, then what was this up-building of suspense I now felt? Their prepping of Ninjutsu by use of seals nearly drove me over the edge. I hated being at the mercy of another almost as much as a I feared it. I had little control over my future at this point ~ no way of knowing how this would all be resolved. From every side a set of haunting arms reached out to seize a part of my body. Though rather than grasping a shoulder or torso, their forms simply melded into mine, just as they had done with the kunai. Once their appendages married my inner networks I'd find myself being laced with a burning sensation. In all honesty, it was the most excruciating pain I was ever destined to endure. It was akin to being burned alive from the inside ~ like a colony of fire ants had made my chakra strands their new home. And as their arms progressed deeper into my being, the agony only blossomed more. My screams came frequent, and at times I nearly begged for an end to it all . But I knew I couldn't ~ this was their last gift to me, something not to be denied. So I weathered the pain in all of its intensity, thoughts tracing back to Atlas-sama the entire time. I'd suffer for both him and our clan if it meant our victory. Still, I wanted his comfort in that moment; for him to be there next to me, for him to hold my hand and tell me it'd be alright.

Unfortunately, this was my own battle; my own sacrifice.

No matter what I'd say to appease him, his past life in Kusagakure would always send an unpleasant shiver down his spine. I wanted desperately to understand my friend but knew that patience was needed more at the moment.

His words came as a bit unnerving. However, I could appreciate his desire to have his own clan hold the top position; sympathize with it even. Wasn't that what I was striving for? It could very well be that we were all walking full on into an unavoidable conflict. Yet, I wasn't fearful of the future, only concerned. And needless to say, having Hyoka as an ally brought its hindrances ~ namely his own harmful ambitions. It was then that I inherited the perfect term for shinobi like him: ambiguous[/u]. He was a true enigma, working solely to the rhythm of his own agenda. And while obscure, I at least hoped he had enough good in him to remain faithful in me. I wanted nothing but the best for him. Our party continued a well established pace, with my own footfall striding casually across bronze soil. The silent midnight topped male spoke up next, providing a sensible way for us to get accustomed with one another. Still walking, I gazed back at him and found eyes comparable to my own. It was remarkable ~ we could have passed as brother and sister under different circumstances. With him breaking the ice, I'd chime in next, assuming it to be ladies first anyhow. "Umeko, Anemone. Akegarasu Clan." I paused, never looking back even as I finished my brief introduction. "And Sandaime Tsuchikage." The last portion I said smoothly, as if the rank held no importance to me whatsoever. When in all honesty ~ it meant the world to me. What soul had dared give me a second look prior to my up-rise? Charmers and perverts maybe, but not much more. Regardless, I replied promptly, certain that I had answered a question resting on his mind since first setting his sight on my darling frame. I'd fall silent then, while my mind worked overtime in piecing this all together.

The phantoms stood tauntingly like idols. I was outnumbered, surrounded, and threatened with words, therefore the small offense I made only seemed appropriate at the time. Though it appeared that was not the case, for the group of assailants didn't budge in the slightest. They weren't intimidated, so what was their real purpose? And eerily enough, the twin daggers I tossed passed through their physical bodies as if simply coming into contact with more oxygen. I couldn't lie ~ these four ghouls had me bested. Even now I was on edge; my almost constant loss of consciousness had rendered me wary of my every surrounding. Not that there were any ~ we were enveloped in total darkness. The fiends took their time approaching me and all I could do was remain tense. As alert as I was, I exhaled sharply, merely waiting for one of them to make a daring move. A dominant hand positioned itself by the outer walls of my weapons pouch. Until one did something out of the ordinary I'd keep to myself.

What were they up to?

I felt his lips grace my skin and took it to be a gesture of closeness. His eyes, I had seen the vulgarity in them and I had witnessed first hand his craving for the battlefield. Out there he was truly at ease, yet in his arms I sensed a side of him that longed for things more subtle ~ like the touch of a woman. It seemed that at the end of the day the desires of a man weren't so sophisticated after all. As for the others, Hyoka-kun wasn't as enlivened to see them as I had thought. Rather, he'd allow his feelings to get the best of him and with an impassioned tug he banished his own Kusagakure headband to the dirt. At first glance it was a peculiar sight, but in due time it'd all come together.

That was his homeland after all ~ so did something about my mention of the Kusakage re-open past wounds for him? His reaction alone was enough for me to question the individual I was requested to meet with.

That said, a distant ally turned and prepared to take his leave. It was true that we had quite the voyage ahead of us but his current mood wouldn't make the trip transpire any faster. Before we moved however, there was still one thing left to settle. My fishing through various pockets came frenzied, still I managed to grasp that metallic crown in just enough time to stop sky hair and take him by the hand. If he did choose to halt, he'd find a shining Iwa headband folded neatly in his palm ~ this one had been meant for him all along. "I want you to stay beside me." My sanguine sight took another look into his eyes, if only to confirm that what I had just said had been genuine. Then the others chimed in, as it seemed they too were ready to take their leave. I couldn't keep them waiting, so I joined in their departure.

"Stay close. You'll all be acting as my bodyguard from now on."
