[Toru]

Several thin rays of sunlight found their way through the stacks of leaves, illuminating the area where he stood. The Airontoku was posted in the center of the forest, which was filled with numerous amounts of trees, rivers, and boulders; a splendid sight for the genin — whom was awaiting for his teacher. Today he was training in the art of Doton, a basic ninja nature, which dealt with the earth element; something that Toru was slacking in.

He wasn't well verse in any art of ninjutsu to be frankly honest, for he only knew a few techniques, which dealt with his clan. But anything that didn't deal with such, was foreign to him as if he never knew it existed. Thin cherry colored lips parted, releasing a sigh that indicated a sign of being impatient. "Where is this guy? I need to train in time for the Chuunin exams, I hope he knows that." Obviously the boy was growing impatient, and the more he grew bored, the more loud sounds he began to make.

[Kinz]

“Quit your belly aching kid.”

Asa called to the groaning boy as he landed nearby on a rock that peeked out of the soil around them. Kumogakura had been built in mountainous country, and he had become accustomed to its various rocky outcroppings. His jutsu had been greatly influenced by these geographic features, and he would pass that influence onto this genin, like he had been instructed. Asa still didn’t know why he was assigned to teach this guy. He knew some techniques sure, but he had his own genin to work with. This guy surely had to have a master or something. Someone who knew his strengths and weaknesses a bit better and could figure out what was best for him to train. There was nothing for it though. He had been instructed to teach, so he would teach.

“So kid,” began Asa, ignoring the fact that the guy wasn’t much younger then him, “I’m Asashio. Where shall we begin….” Asa tapped his finger on his lips as he thought what he would like to teach today. Then, snapping his fingers, his hands would form the seals for the only fire jutsu he knew. Orange flames would leap from his body, and land on the ground, slowly forming into an alter image of himself.

“There. That’s the fire clone, kid. See what you can do with it.”

With that, Asa activated his sharingan, and sat down on the rock where he had been standing. He knew that learning things was easier when you had a hands on experience with it, followed by instructional guidance. The genin would have to attempt it, and let Asa point out his flaws.

[Toru]

Scarlet oculars shot in the direction from where the voice came from, automatically spotting the Chuunin with ease. The Airontoku stopped his noise making, while he studied the man, looking at him from head to toe; the guy seemed like the real deal. But Toru wanted more proof, something to make sure this guy was worthy enough to train him, and then it happened -- the man's pool became blood red, revealing the Sharingan. Sharingan, a dojutsu that made the most strongest men quiver in fear, and gave birth to the strongest shinobi in the world.

"Hmm, so I guess you're the man that's going to train me. Hope you can keep up with my awesomeness." It had seemed the Genin was ignored, for the Chuunin automatically began to form several seals of the zodiac array, and giving birth to flames. Toru was rather interested, as he watched everything unfold before his very eyes, not knowing how to react to such. The flames soon shot away from the man's body and began to form into a being, a being that looked exactly like the Chuunin. "Ahhh, Katon Bunshin no Jutsu. This the first time I've seen it in person." Toru stated, as he began to recall the seals the man had created.

The clone that was right before his eyes, was rather fascinating. Its every detail looking exactly like its owner, from the hair to the eyes, to everything; how beautiful. Never had the Airontoku been so amazed, and he wanted to test the clone out for himself. But before that, he needed to learn the pros and cons about the Flame Bunshin; he quickly drew two kunai from his pouch, throwing it at the being with he flick of his wrist. The sound of the air being cut, could be heard as the kunai beamed towards the clone, and when they made contact with it; it just phased through with ease.

An eyebrow raised in interest, and digits quickly began to rub underneath the youth's chin, touch the facial hair underneath. "Ahh, so physical objects cannot come into contact with it, I assume, am I right? Anything else I should know about the clone? Like does it have an exploding affect? What weakness does it have, Suiton?" He questioned the man, as he began to walk closer to the flaming being. He honestly was too caught up with the features of the clone, and was being sidetracked instead, not worrying about testing it out -- not yet.

Katon Bunshin no Jutsu (Fire Clone Technique)

Description: With this technique, the Katon user is able to call upon aid from a perfect copy of themselves. Comprised purely of a most intense fire, this clone retains the user movement speed and can share linked mental judgement. Best of all, due to its flowing essence, many solid physical attacks pass through the clone, burning instead whatever was used to strike them. Finally, when defeated, the clone explodes into a blast of flame that aims to take over the nearest opponent available in the form of napalm.

The awesomeness the genin spoke of wasn’t apparent in his initial tests. A kunai cut the air and flame that made up the body of the clone, passing through and planting the blade end in the soil a few feet away. The genin began to ask questions about the clone, and Asa sighed. In what could only be considered a frustrated tone, he began to answer each question in turn, the palm of his hand planting on his forehead.

“Obviously it has a suiton weakness. The fire isn’t continuously fed by chakra. Think of the chakra used for this flame as a battery. It has a charge that will last for a time, but you’re not constantly stoking it like other fire techniques. Water will extinguish it pretty easily. It does have the added benefit of an “explosion” if it can be called that. It’s less an explosion and more a bursting of flames. Also, before it is asked, the clone does respond to a mental link you have. Even after creation it can be controlled in different ways, not just set on a specific path.”

Asa finished his long winded answers and reclined back a bit on his rock, trying in vein to find a comfortable position. Perhaps the boy wasn’t completely dense, being he was asking questions before just jumping into the technique. He had to remember that not everyone had a sharingan to assist them in understanding techniques. Asa formed the handseals another time, allowing the flames to flow forth once more and form a second apparition. This time it was in the form of the ganin though, the blue hair being a notable feature.

The two clones would begin fighting, throwing kicks and punches with the skill Asa had commanded them to have. Every time one connected it seemed to flow through the other. If it had been flesh, it would have burned to ash. Every once in a while though, they would solidify a bit to allow them to deflect each others blow, or wield the kunai that the genin had tossed through the one.

[Toru]

Toru listened to the man's words, taking note of every detail he was being told, and implanted it in his memory with ease. But he was quite taken back, when he saw another clone that took the form of him. It seemed the clones had the ability to even turn into someone else, and not only the user -- another good perk about it. "Alright, let me get a shot at it, first I will make one, which looks like me, and then one that looks like you." The Genin stated to the male, as he began to remember the four to six seals.

"I think I can pull it off, maybe not so easily, but ughhh~" He began to clap his hands together, and began to form the several seals that he had remembered. Each zodiac sign was being form within the matter of seconds, allowing the chakra from within his core to stir up. But he wasn't just summoning any charka, he was summoning the Katon nature from within him. The release that his clansmen had mastered and used within battle to win. "Alright, I got this sooo far, I just need do a little more now." That was all he needed, before he took the next step at attempting the jutsu.

His body began to heat up, probably from the Katon nature that was being brought forth, and the more he began to heat up -- the more the flames began to envelop his body. Flames began to surround him, but he didn't want that to happen, Toru was attempting to move the flames to the side of him, so he can birth the new clone. But this was harder than he thought, the boy had to focus, and clear his mind, allowing him to put his all within this training experience. Slight groans could be heard, while the boy strained himself to push harder, but he didn't know if he could control it.

The flames finally shot forth to the side of him, and began to form a being within time. The size of it being the same as Toru, the hair the same color as Toru, and finally its entire being, looking exactly the same as Toru. It wasn't easy to accomplish, but it seemed he was able to bring forth the clone with much ease, and now he needed to control it. Using his mind, he began to command the clone to work forth towards him, and it did such. It was rather easy, and not that hard at all, but he now needed to see if he was able to create a Katon clone to look exactly like someone else.

[Kinz]

Asa watched with his crimson pupils as the genin began forming the seals for the clone technique. He picked up on one or two things that the genin could do to improve the technique, but he was able to produce the clone for the most part. The clone was slow, and clumsy looking compared to Asa’s more refined ones, but it would do. It was a good effort, especially for a first try. This kid had some affinity for fire jutsu apparently.

“Good going kiddo. It worked on the first try.” Asa sounded rather pleased.

Standing, Asa would move over next to the ninja, allowing his two clones to fizzle from existence. Then he would continue, erasing the pleased tone for a more serious one. “Ok, now it was good, but you need to adjust your handseals a bit before it’s perfect. When you get to the third seal in the series, you just performed the half rat seal, instead of a full one. It seemed like you were almost running through the seals lazily. They are important, especially there. The reason the clone formed around your body instead of where you wanted it, was because you didn’t put the full seal there. If it wasn’t for whatever affinity you have with fire you probably would have burned your skin pretty bad. Don’t get sloppy.”

It was a small mistake, but an important one that Asa wanted to stress. He continued on from there though with a little addition to the seals. “Secondly, I don’t think you picked up on it when I did it cause it was small, but for the clone that looks like something else, you need to finish with a dragon seal. It lets you craft the appearance. It’s tough at first, but gets real easy after a bit.”

Smiling, Asa moved away from the genin to allow him some space. He smiled his trademark toothy grin. The boy wasn’t as dense as Asa thought at first. Perhaps this wouldn’t be to big a hastle. He’d show him some jutsu, then explain the needed adjustments. A piece of cake.

[Toru]

Toru's clone was clumsy and not perfect like his teacher's, but at least he was getting somewhere. He listened to the man's words, taking into consideration of what he was saying, and now realizing he needed to do more than just try to learn the technique. He needed to master it, and make it seem as if it was a second nature to him. "Alright, I got it, I promise you this time, I will make it perfect and look like you." He stated in a determine tone, getting ready to attempt at the technique again. He was rather impressed that the Sharingan, allowed the male to be able to read the man's seals with ease.

And even know what kind of zodaic seals he made. That eye was truly something, and Toru wanted to know more about it. But for now Toru needed to focus, and he quickly began to form the seals needed, but this time making sure he formed the full rat seal, and then finished off with dragon seal. If the male was watching, he could tell that the youth formed his seals more fluently instead of sloppy. The flames he called forth, quickly shot to the side, and formed into the trainer, an exactly replicate, which moved more easily than before.

"Told you I got this, now what's next?" He questioned the male, as he began to command his clone a couple of times, but was still paying attention to this teacher. This was going to be a long day, Toru could tell.

“Alright, alright. Good. You got the basics of it down. You’ll still need to work on that a bit to get it mastered, but I think it’s pretty much combat ready. Lets move on shall we?”

Asa spoke briskly, as if every moment counted. Many ninja within the village treated training as a pastime, something to be done at their leisure. This wasn’t the case. Every moment one could train would give them every advantage possible when tackling a mission. Those advantages could mean the difference between the life and death of yourself or you comrade. Getting closer to the genin, Asa formed a single ram handseal, and extended his chakra. It flowed from him, cascading over the soil and reached about 40 meters in every direction.

“You probably cannot see it, but this is the basis for all earth techniques. Currently I can control the ground any where within my field of power. Yours will not be this large at first, but with training you may be able to match me. It’s quite simple. You form the ram handseal, and simply extend your doton release out through the earth. This extension will allow you to perform techniques later, but for now we need to work on your initial flow, and the distance you an reach out to.”

Asa’s explanation was rather rudimentary, but there really wasn’t a lot to explain about the basics of the technique. The problem was that it required dedication to advance one’s skill, and Asa did not know if this genin had that level of determination. He stepped back, allowing his control over the area to fade, so that he didn’t interfere with the genin’s efforts. He wondered how the ninja would fair.

[Toru]

Toru had no Doton base jutsus within his arsenal, so training it was like a fish learning to breath on land for the first time; just wasn't something he was used to. But he still watched carefully at the male before him, taking in all of his words, his gestures, and etc. As his teacher formed the handseal with ease, and allowed his charka to merge with the dirt, Toru began to feel the difference somehow in his own unique way. "Alright, so basically I just merge my charka with the earth itself?" He asked, as his teacher began to walk away.

The boy began to form the ram seal, attempting to summon forth the doton element from inside him. Training this element was foreign to the Airontoku who was more used to Katon, rather than Doton. But he still was determined to try it, for he was not a failure. He began to push himself harder, attempting to bring out the Earth element, but it was harder than he thought. Toru began to focus more, and soon everything began to fall into place, allowing his charka to flow through and take hold of him.

He could feel it coming, and he couldn't wait to unleash it from his being. He tapped deeper, and began to allow his Doton nature to take control, instead of his normal chakra. Toru was now messing with an elemental jutsu, which seemed to be much harder than the basic chakra techniques. "I have to focus and let it spread out right?" He asked, as the chakra began to surge down his feet, attempting to become one with the earth. This was getting harder by the second, and Toru was getting more annoyed by the trials and error.

Chakra began to merge within the dirt, attempting to become one with it, and if the Chuunin was watching carefully -- he would see it was working. Toru was making it all flow down into the earth, but it was only in one spot; beneath him. He needed to push it out, allow it to takeover more of the range around him, but that seemed harder than what he was doing. He tapped for more chakra, and it began to travel to his feet, but the problem was how to expand it more? "I need a little help here man, don't let me down."

Asa’s sharingan pierced into the genins energy as he flowed it into the ground. His two tomoes while effective at visualizing pure chakra weren’t trained highly enough yet to few individualized releases yet. It all seemed like one big blur of pure energy to Asa, but already judging by the flow he had found some problems with the genins technique. Asa assumed that the boy was generating the earth release. He had been told that the genin had an affinity for the earth release even though he didn’t have any knowledge of its use. Hopefully he knew at least that much.

“All right kid. Calm yourself. You’ll get it. You seem to have the basic idea of it, the problem is you don’t understand the earth release. Earth isn’t something that you can force to flow where you want. Think of it this way, what does a rock do when you force it out of your way, say by kicking it? It’ll move sure, but it doesn’t change what it was doing. It’ll still sit where it lands. You’ve merely given it a new bit of scenery to be surrounded by. It hasn’t changed for you though, it’s remained the same in spite of you. To get the release to flow properly out from you, you need to be more stubborn then it. Make the rock move, don’t let it make you move.”

Asa realized that he was beginning to sound a bit like a hippy, but it was the only way he could think of to describe it. Earth wasn’t something that was forced, it did the forcing. You merely need to set it on a path and let it go to work. You’re energy merely lets you harmonize with the rock and soil, and create a mutually beneficial outcome.

“Here, do what I do. When I have difficulty with an earth release technique, I picture what I want to happen, and I describe to myself why the earth moving in this matter will end up being beneficial for the ground itself. What are the consequences of my moving the ground? Then when I can think of something beneficial for the earth itself I kind of meditate on that. It’s my focus. You may be able to get the energy to flow a significant amount away from your body on pure power, but you’ll never have skill in the release if you can’t come to terms with these concepts.” Asa’s hands brushed through his hair. He was having difficulty explaining something so obscure. Few other releases required someone to understand psychology, but the earth release and its techniques were special in that way.

[Toru]

The Genin was guided by the man's words, and began to quickly picture the Doton chakra becoming one with the earth. Toru was no artist, but he used his imagination or his own image of what it would look like, and it began to easily flow through for him. It was something he was beginning to like, and he could feel the ease within his being, and now was ready to attempt the expanding of his nature. "Alright I'm ready for this shit, here I go!" The boy shouted, and he began to tense up his muscles.

The charka that was at the bottom of his feet began to slowly stretch out within the area, merging with all that surrounded him. At first it slowly began to stretch out two meters, then five, and eventually ten all around. He could feel his presence with gaia, as they now were one being in a sense. She carried his offspring and now it was up to him to raise them. Toru released the handseal he held, and made sure his chakra still lingered all in the ground, something he began to like. "I want to learn the next rank to this shit."
