The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
I'm a bossl, play mostly AP mid, but right now my thing is Maokai, trying to get ranked, if you play a decent ADC or Top duo Q with yours truly. I'm at 1070 elo, trying to push up but solo q is hard life, yeah? Anyway add me, but be warned if we play normals I will whip out ad sona xD

AP cho belongs top or mid if you want to bully squishier casters, you need the solo lane for farm and exp. I'm not sure how you build him but you should for durability with splashes of damage. I dont play cho a lot but the items I recommend should be good / better than what league tells you.
regrowth pen (if your opponent isn't very mobile)
boots three health pots / 2 health pots & 1 mana pot
ruby crystal (if you have good runes to spare the extra health)
doran ring (only if your sure you will bully the lane)
go for an early HOG or mana crystal> upgrade boots to either merc treads or sorc boots > build early rylais > wits end / abyssal scepter(optional) > turn your regrowth pendant into a reverie (can be done after rylais) > next you have three choices to end your build: turning HOG into a randuins if your having problems vs adc or if you started mana crystal buy frozen heart > death cap for pure ap dmg > or wota for sustain.
dont forget this isn't situational and you should build according to the game. If your ahead and snowballing? Buy that Death cap early to keep doing it. Being bullied top? go for sustain early as well as armor and hp? team needs tank? focus ap tanky items first. hopes this helps I'll give you a build for ashe later as I play her more than AP cho.
I'm swapping between AP Cho'Gath running Bot and ADC Ashe in whatever lane I'm needed in. Trying to find optimal set-ups for both.
yer what taiga said, dont play him bot lol
also play ad ashe bot....
chogath ap simple: basically do what taiga said maybe even chuck in a rod of ages there
adc ashe, like every ad carry: boots (or dorans blade) > bf sword > vampiric scepter > berserkers greaves > infinity edge > phantom dancer > blood thirster > then situational items like last whisper, black cleaver, madreds bloodrazor depending on enemy team
also max out your volley as priority, but take your hawk shot first so you can get the extra gold from farming creeps. it adds up
^ Bad Idea. Frost Shot helps a lot more for poking than Hawk Shot, which you do a lot of playing Ashe as an ADC. It's situational of course, but if on any given match I find myself playing against bad odds (I.E. Taric and Another Ranged in Bot, or Ashe/Lux) I generally go W > Q > E > W > W > R > Q > W > Q > W > Q > R > Q > E > E > R > E > E
Getting pokes in to keep them off of you lets you farm a lot better than just maxing out Hawkshot and hoping for opportunities to use it while the enemy ADC and Support push you back. Then again, if you're bullying with Janna against a poorly set-up team, I could see where the Hawkshot argument could be made.
That said, I usually aim to get bloodthirster up early. I'll go boots with no pots, usually, if I have good support, and just save up until I get vamp Scep. I'll run that till I can afford a BF Sword, maybe get Merc treads if enemy has a lot of CC/slow, or Boots of Swiftness if not. From there I get my Bloodthirster and generally just enjoy easy-mode kills in lane (Provided my support is doing their job properly) and save up for my IE.
After IE I tend to go for Zeal and another Blood-thirster, if the game goes that long.
Endgame, provided it's a good one, usually runs with me having Merc Treads, Blood-Thirster, IE, Shadow Dancer, Whisper, Blood Thirster (Whisper being bought after zeal but before dancer and Second Thirster.)
Using that setup I wiped an 18 bot Cho built tanky with at least 2 stacks of Feast (Want to say it was three, but might've just been 2) In three shots. Granted, both Thirsters were max stacked.

if your positioning is great rush IE.
whenever I play adc i always have 100+ cs by 20 mins
also I go triple dorans during laning phase, trying to throw an early zeal in there. I rush IE first always then maybe phantom dancer, cause usually I don't need BT. This of course is dependent upon your positioning an how good you are at it. after that i start on my bt usually buying the vamp scept first before finishing. I get beserkers and if im being focused a GA though I like to have two PD's when playing adc. though i dont like this role much, I play Ashe well , but perfer sirvir or mf.
