It’s pretty basic stuff, just some land lines that rats chewed through but they most certainly still have a live current at parts. Be careful and get the new wires in place without killing yourself first.

Deacan looked around at the village. Recently, there have been power outages all over the place and a few of the villagers have been complaining. It's not a life-threatening ordeal, but people don't like change and losing your electricity tends to be a big change. Deacan himself lost power to his house, though with the small amount of power he uses for day to day activities, he isn't to worried. Mainly, he wants to go see if anything is going on in the mission compound to get the problem fixed.

Deacan walked in and looked around to see a bunch of sweaty people using handfans. Deacan went up to them to ask them about the power failures.
"Do we have any missions to help get the power back online?"
The people at the desk simply shook their head. Lots of people complained about it, but no one wanted to pay to fix it. One of the gentlemen at the desk held up his hand.
"If you're up for replacing these wires, I'll pay the village myself...."
Deacan smiled and nodded. The man gave Deacan a slip of paper that had the wires that needed switched out marked on it. There were about 5 of them through out the village, but each one was a main wire, connected to dozens of homes.

Deacan's first stop was to go get the lines and get ready. As he approached the lines, he molded some chakra and released it in the form of 70 birds¹. He picked up the lines and a few joining couplings to join the new lines and the old lines together. It wasn't rocket science, but it wasn't the easiest job to do, especially since the lines were live. Deacan had to be careful not to shock himself, though that was the easy part. The hard part was going to be controlling his birds with enough precision to cut the lines and attach new ones. He had 10 couplings in total, 2 for each power line. He was going to need to use his birds to unhook the old and damaged wires from the large power stations.

The first one was rather simple. It was a wire that had been replaced before so Deacan only needed to send a mental command to his birds so that they would unhook the old coupling and hook up the new ones. Then they took up one of the wires, which was pre-measured by the guy who the village bought the lines from. It fit nicely into the slot and power started buzzing through the wire once more.

Special: Crows can exist as far as the eye can see, or until the user leaves the thread, and take no additional chakra for upkeep. Up to 10 are summoned initially, with 10 more each time this jutsu is re-learned for a maximum of 100 crows. Crows move almost as fast as kunai, and maintain a mental chakra connection to the user for the sake of communication.
Description: The base behind the Akegarasu is their control and use of crows in battle, displayed well with this technique. After forming a few simple seals, the crow king will call upon a murder of crows to fly around and envelop the target, causing confusion with their dark forms and quick movement. From here, either a comrade or the user can move within the flock wearing dark clothes and wielding a dark weapon almost undetected. With the target distracted by the crows, the ninja can strike more efficiently. Finally, the mass of crows can obscure any retreating ninja, as the crows are massive in numbers and composed of the user's chakra. When no longer needed, the murder of crows will simply puff away in smoke.

The next line wasn't that far away, only a few feet, and on the other end of the street. This explained why the power to this entire section of town was out. Both were main lines near the start of the circuit of the village. Deacan quickly had his birds repeat the process from the other line to this one, though it was slightly more complicated since the couplings were rusted. This one doesn't seem to have seen repair in some time, and it was suffering for it. The line itself had holes in it and was sparking electricity everywhere. It was a wonder that it didn't catch the village on fire.

Before he did anything with the third line, which was halfway across town, Deacan decided to take the lines back to the man who sold the new lines to the village. It wasn't much, but recycling it to the old man would make his job a bit easier since it would give him the materials he needed to work with. Deacan was hoping he would give the village a discount the next time they needed lines, but who would know. Deacan grabbed two more lines, his birds now only holding onto 6 couplings.

Deacan moved towards the 3rd land lines. These ones, like the first, had been changed quite a lot recently. Sometime later, Deacan would need to figure out why, but for now his mission was simply to replace the lines. The birds lands on the coupling and started to peck at it, twisting it with their claws as it came undone and fell to the ground. First the side that received the electricity, then the side that sent it out, that way all the electricity would flow out before it fell to the ground and it's source would be cut off.

Deacan put the line up in the opposite order, first the end that sent out the electricity then the side that received it. Using his pets this much was rather difficult, as each command was only done via mental link. These weren't complicated enough movements to require a jutsu and a sudden surge of chakra for, since the couplings were stationary when picked up and put on. Deacan sighed. 2 more to go before he was done.

Next, Deacan had to deal with the last two lines. They were close to each other, so it wouldn't be hard to go from one to the other. Both these wires were never replaced before, meaning the couplings weren't there and the lines needed to be cut. Deacan formed a few handseals as he let energy flow from him into his avians, turning them into metal shuriken¹ that slice through all the lines. The ones that were to cut through the receiving end hit first, then the end that sends the electricity, the same as before.

The wires hit the ground and hissed a bit with electricity as the new lines were put into place. Deacan hopped down and grabbed the now dead lines, their electricity discharged into the ground. He dragged them back to the man who had given him the new lines. Apparently the village had paid for everything, so Deacan's work was done. Now all that was left was to check if the power was working and to head back to the mission compound.

Deacan heard the hum of electricity as he made his way to the Mission Compound. His job was done right it seemed, at least around here. Deacan walked towards the compound and his birds vanished into the air, becoming like ghosts, fading into the sky. Deacan was finally able to focus on himself and what he was doing instead of focusing on the birds.

Deacan walked in and turned in his mission. The power was back on here as well ,as evident by the fact the people who hand out the missions were done fanning themselves and were setting comfortably in the cool air conditioned room. The mission was done and was rather successful.
