The Haunting in Suna

Mission Information: Recently there has been a series of reports of paranormal activity coming from the old estate down the road. A family had rented that place and claimed that they saw images of ghosts and dead people haunting the place and quickly they ran for cover and ran out of the house. Neighbors are moving out of their homes, terrified of the ghouls that reside within the estate. The landlord has asked that a shinobi or two come to investigate.
Special Information: Repeatable. As always with a mission of this rank, there is a chance of injury or death. Roleplay the ghosts accordingly, or find a GM.
Reward: 60 EXP and 1,000 Ryo.

[/b] making a trail with the dart-tip of her end. It certainly was lonely out here in this big ass dessert but I was never one to complain aloud.. not like it mattered anyway. My foosteps carried on for an hour length before I finally began to notice the eastern region’s horizon.

It wasn’t too long before I’d made it to the eastern village gates. There were no guards on duty at the gate… the town, in less words, was the epitome of what desolation stood for. This town had been raped by silence the past few weeks and it were my mission to find out how exactly I was going to bring the alms of angels choirs back into the streets of this deserted ghost play pin. I looked around lazily in attempts to catch some sort of sign within the buildings around me.

A whistle protruded my lips with the winds’ tender propulsion fueling out a song for the ghost to hear. It was the only way to draw it out… if there was one.

The gates opened into a narrow lane bordered on each side by rows of narrow buildings. When he glanced around, Aero saw that this was the 'town square' so to speak, and the center of commerce relative to the eastern village itself. The buildings seemed deserted, but a few brave souls weathered the supernatural occurrences as they were centralized to a specific region in the eastern village -

The old Akane house at the end of Onyro Road.

The shinobo's whistle did not draw a ghost - instead, it drew the attention of Tenkishi, the oldest man still living in the haunted region; he served as the local 'repairman', and refused to leave because of a 'thrice-damned ghost'.

"Hn," He grunted as he stepped slowly around the corner of the first house past the gates, his old knees creaking with each step. "You look like one'dem shin-oe-beeze... 'kum t'see 'bout the ghos', eh'? Won' find'em whistlin' like sum weird-o - walk yer' butt down thar an' 'vestigate!" He coughed powerfully, turned, and limped back to whence he'd come.

A young man - perhaps nineteen - stood at the end of the lane where the road split into three. He waved to Aero, indicated that the shinobi should come near. He thought he'd figured out a thing or two about the ghost at the Akane house.[/font]

"Wow, am honest-to-god shinobi! Never thought one would come to the eastern village..." he trailed off into silence, his face split in a wide, goofy grin. It was several long moments before he stopped nodding his head up and down stupidly, realizing finally that he had yet to introduce himself.

"I'm Takeo - Takeo 'Spikes', because my hair is so spiky... anyways, yeah, the old Akane house is pretty haunted. The ghost is really angry - you can feel the evil energies before you even reach the house!

I'm pretty sure it's a vengeful spirit - a scorned woman who died painfully..."

He stepped to the side and pointed to the street directly behind him in the middle of the three-pronged fork. The Akane house was at the end of the lane, the street itself bordered by rows of thin, dying trees through which the houses that lined the street could be seen. The Akane house was the oldest of them, and also the largest. It seemed darker than the houses around it - dreary even, with a thick air of maliciousness permeating the air.

It reeked of death, like rotten eggs.

There were a pair of windows on the second floor that seemed as if eyes, its porch a mouth stretched in a thin-lipped frown, the columns its jagged teeth. When Aero entered the threshold of the property, passed the knee-high picket fence, the door, closed, would open on its own with a long creak.

My words left my lips solemnly as I awaited his response. Feet departed from its previous position and past spikes, who’d probably be scrambling up a response by now but I wasn’t sure I was going to be needing anyone else’s help with this mission. I would consider that a failure and so would kaze-kage sama. I stepped onto the trail and made it to the house’s entrance where a giant gate creaked open and snapped back after entering it. This place was strange as hell…. And the house looked like a damn monster from the outside.

Brown optics soon rotated into a counter-clockwise spin, phasing in and out from my two tomoe. That usually happened when I activated my sharingan once in a day, and this was the one time I’d activated it today. A new type of vision gave me confidence whilst staring at the house. The rocks broke beneath my feet as I neared the door… extending my hand to grab for the knob and turning it.

A pair of dimly glowing red eyes watched Aero as he walked up the pathway to the house, disappearing into the shadows before the Uchiha could see them. When Aero put his hand to the door knob, it burned with the bright red of fire, searing his hand. The knob had been super-heated... but by what?

A keening wail followed the episode, an unholy screech likened to the sounds of a painful death. A thunderous uproar sounded from inside the house, as if a dozen horses were stomping the floor, the sound growing nearer to the door -

And then it opened, sliding inward slowly and smoothly.

There were words scratched etched into the eastern wall of the foyer. The light from outside seemed almost blocked from entering the house, but if he looked closely, he would see the words, "death do us part" scratched jaggedly into the wall. Before his very eyes, the walls would start to bleed.

His sharingan was of little help. If this was genjutsu, it was powerful genjutsu.

This weird sound started to thump. It was sort of like a rumbling sound… and it started to get louder. I side stepped the door just in case anything were to come through. I wiped my head from the wetness palpitating from my pores. If there really was a ghost it sure was doing a good job of making me believe so. I coughed a second to alleviate my jitter as my eyes scattered upon the inside.

There were writings along the wall… but I was too busy trying to figure what it was the noise was. My Sharingan hadn’t detected any use of genjutsu… but even my brother sometimes outwitted me at that. My head stayed high as I etched forth my arm to try and push the door in a bit further. The sounds of the hinges creaked as I nudged my hand forward, pushing the door open.

[/i] holding the loose shape of a man, its mouth wide in a silent wail of terror and pain; before it dissappeared to nothing, it raised a spectral finger to point up the stairs behind it.

If he ignored the ghost and further searched the room, delving deeper into the first floor layout, he'd find very telling evidence...

After a long journey Youko stopped in front of the unguarded village gate. With no certainty, guided by merely a rumor, he found himself in the eastern part of the country. The sun was no longer at its strongest point, but it was just powerful enough to dry the air environment. It just fit perfectly with lonely boring town that was lying behind these gates. The combination of the two factors gave a deserted feeling to town. There wasn’t a single person to be seen from where Youko was standing. However when he looked down he noticed footsteps, they were still fresh. The footsteps went inside the village. The presence of another person made him slightly excited knowing that he wasn’t alone in this town.

He followed the trail inside the village. Hoping that if he would catch up with the person that just passed by here could tell him about the haunted mansion that was supposed to be somewhere in this city. Maybe if he was lucky the trace would lead him straight to the house. But he just had to see what this city would bring him. The silence that was spread across the village was suspicious and somehow comfortable at the same time. It gave the ability for his tense mind to rest. Maybe he would take a break when he finished the mission.

He kept following trace, but not long after he passed the village gate the road that he walked on became covered with stones so he could no longer follow the trace of footsteps that was printed in the sand. He could follow the same direction, but he could also knock on the door of the house that was right next to him. He decided to use a jutsu to determine whether there were any people close to his position, if not then he’d follow the direction the footprints gave him.

It reaches 30 meters. The idea was to detect a magnetic signal(or a metalic object) which is placed in an unusual place. Because most people wear something that has magnetic signal(or a metallic object). My idea would be that he could also detect a person by getting a magnetic signal from whatever metal they have with them. So that would mean that if there are people but do not wear anything with a magnetic signal, they’d be invisible for this jutsu.

OOC:lol just wondering if this was possible, if not let me know, so I can make sure I'll never pull this shit off again. Also ignore it if you find/consider this unrealistic or lame/stupid or for whatever reason that it can't be done.

You were wise in your choice of not following the ethereal being that had beckoned you to venture forth. Your investigation would lead you to find a old worn journal, keeping logs of the daily events the previous owner of the house had. You'd find that the logs end abruptly and the last page was stained in a rusted crimson.

Looking even further, your query would lead you to something most telling of the house. A old, cracked photograph of a tall lady, beside her a burly man, with a short beard and in the middle a small child, but you'd find the face was cut out.

The last bit of evidence would be the room itself, as if a struggle had happened here. It wouldn't be too hard to deduce what had happened within these walls, so would you follow the beckoning hand?
