Kira emerged from the gates of Iwa to the deafening raucous cheers of his village, it seemed nearly the entire population had settled itself outside the gates of the great Iwagakure, they flanked the roads and sat perched in trees, many had taken to climbing the walls and waving them off from the battlements. It was what should be in anybody's mind the most perfect send off one could get, yet for some reason that Kira could not fathom he felt sorrow. His facade however was as impeccable as always. Smiling and giving thanks to his people Kira moved around briefly talking to young shinobi, he then spoke to some of the more senior ninja the Chunin and Jonin. Kira was given a few gifts in light of his absence, along with countless promises that the village would be kept just as he had left it. Of course once you had arranged your villages military hierarchy to your own liking such promises were really unnecessary but still Kira smiled and gave his thanks. Now he turned to address all of his people, as one, his voice sincere and gentle. "Fear not my absence, your worries lighten my heart but what i do now i do for you all, for your futures. The alliance with Sunagakure will be profoundly enriching as i'm sure most of you will find out. Look upon the shinobi i take with me today, they will make you proud and you shall make them. Iwa is a family and we all must act like one. When we return we do so with a new friend, a new ally and a new future." With that Kira nodded to the Jonin scouts who dashed off toward their destination, these scouts would make sure their journey had no unpleasant surprises, Kira's idea as a precaution. After that moved the small number of Jonin he would be bringing, he would move swiftly behind them leaving the Genin and a small number of Chunin as the rear guard. Before long Kira noticed the terrain begin to alter, it was less solid, less rocky, the mountains grew smaller and smaller until they were no longer on the tough stony lands of Tsuchi no kuni but in softer greener lands. They were after two days well into the bird country, a non shinobi country whom were neutral, the people here were much like the land, soft and green, such a country would be easily felled by the might of any of the great shinobi villages. In time perhaps. They pressed on as swift as before passing lakes and small civilian villages, long planes and winding valleys. With the country being so small soon enough they found the terrain change again. This time the land grew dryer and more desolate, plant life dwindles away into nothingness and the only creatures about were tough old insects solitary predators and the birds in the sky. At last they came upon the edge of the vast sandy desert that covered nearly all of Kaze no kuni, Sunagakure was out there somewhere in the mass of sand. It was time to move toward it, and the new alliance it would bring. Note: Thread will be moved when i request it which will be after everyone has posted their travelling. Xenos glided gently along with the rest of the group, riding his silver iron disk almost a hundred meters up in the air.

Normally, he wouldn't take such great lengths to avoid his fellows down on the ground. But, on this day Xenos wasn't feeling particularly social. He had a bad feeling about this whole event, and for the moment, he didn't feel like doing much of anything besides watch the sun set and ponder.

'THUD' was the only audible sound heard as a genin bearing a headband of Iwa around his neck landed in front of the convoy. His tabi boots were covered in the last hard-to-shake-off grains of sand. He couldn't talk just yet, he needed to catch his breath, let the air back into his lungs. As the sweat beaded down his head and dripped from his chin he leaned his head back gawking into the sky as the many eyes of his Earth Country brethren peered at him in confusion. Everyone seemed either annoyed that he'd busted up moment or interested in why the hell he was covered in sweat and coming from the general direction of Wind Country. Everyone that was except the Tsuchikage, Kaguya Kira that is.

The younger but higher seated shinobi looked upon him with a gaze as neutral as ever. Once the genin's heart rate began to return to normal his crimson stare locked up with the Earth Shadow's. He knew something big and Kira knew that he knew something big, he knew that Kira knew that he knew something big. So there was no need to waste time explaining outside the relative safety of their village walls. He crouched over, his hands on his knees he'd never felt his heart beat so fast in his life.

His chest was still heaving to capture as much air he could and his jet black hair stuck a bit to his forehead from the sweat. As the salty drops rolled down the bridge of his nose and dropped to the ground he stood up again from being crouched over, his back straight. The uncomfortable feeling of his soaking wet clothes made him direct, to the point, and a bit irritable. He spoke to the Tsuchikage directly and discreetly. His voice low enough to be heard by no one else but stern enough that Kira probably wouldn't make him explain then and there.

He searched for the words but how could he say what he needed to say? WHAT was he even trying to say? He weighed his options during the long run back but now he was so thirsty and worn out that the elegant and careful way he'd planned on advising the Tsuchikage was gone. There was no need to alert the masses but watering down his message too much could cause Kira to miss the urgency in what he knew. We all need to go back to the Village. He stepped into Kira's personal space again looking him in his eyes with less than two feet between them. We need to talk.

It wouldn't take an extremely long time to get everyone back in the village safe and sound and there was no sure way to know that what he knew would convince the Tsuchikage to change his plans. For all he knew it wouldn't deter Kira at all but there was nothing he could do but report. If the Kaguya decided his information wasn't enough and the venture to Wind Country continued then the genin would have to draw the line and leave the Stone village behind for his own good. For now he continued his trek back to Iwagakure. He needed a change of clothes and he needed everyone back there now just to be safe. There was no point in giving up any information now but back in Iwa he would share all that he knew. He took his leave and waited for the Tsuchikage and the others to follow.

After two days of traveling, which weren't that strenous to put the group of Iwa-nin led by Kira in an exhausted state, it was still a relief for them when the large area of golden sand that made up the desert marking their arrival in the Wind Country were in their sights. It was a first for Izou to travel out of Earth Country and already he could see much of a difference the outside world was compared to the small world he had known as Tsuchi no Kuni since he was a young boy.

The Genin were travelling behind Kira, making up the rear guard. Izou stood at the very front of his group, putting him just behind Kira. And his right hand quickly flew to his combat knife the moment an unrecognized shinobi appeared out of nowhere in front of the Tsuchikage.

It wasn't only him, the others in the entourage were all confused and riled up at the same time, but to the Earth Shadow, it was nothing. The man kept his cool, his unwavering authority never once shifting. As the shinobi stopped to catch his breath, the forehead protector bearing a metal plate with Iwa's insignia, that was worn around the shinobi's neck, glimmered as it crested and rested with the shinobi's breath.

Izou's hand slowly relaxed and he released his grip on his combat knife when he noticed the forehead protector, and then looked at the new Iwa-nin as he leaned in close to the Tsuchikage and said something. Being one of the few Genin nearest to Iwa's leader, Izou managed to catch a few words, but not enough for him to make anything out of it.

When he had said all he needed, the Iwa-nin left as abruptly as he had appeared. Izou watched as the shinobi slowly disappeared from sight, and when he couldn't be seen any longer, the silver-haired Genin turned back to look at the Tsuchikage. The only thing in his mind was, "What is going on?"

Kira's keen crimson eyes knew almost instantly who this was, Tokomaru Sen, the Genin he had previously sent as ambassador to suna, that he had halted their passage hinted at something of great importance, the look upon his face emphasized this further. The Genin moved toward him and spoke, Kira new from the few words he said that something in Suna had happened, something worrying. He had been called arrogant a number of times, but he was not so arrogant that he would ignore one of his own nin, especially one whom had achieved such fine results in the past. Kira allowed Sen to pass. Turning he followed moving past his ANBU guard who silently took his lead. The others would follow, confused but obeying nonetheless. Kira would not press the issue until all were safe behind the walls of Iwa, Kira previous hope had been replaced by a feeling of dread. He would need to find out what was going on, he would then need to meet the Hokage in kusa as soon as he could. Strange and unforeseen happenings were occurring, of that he had no doubt. Within moments the party of Iwa nin were gone, heading back to their village. IIC: 1 day later Kira had pushed his nin hard all the way back to Tsuchi no kuni, there had been no breaks, the nin could rest once in Iwa, he himself felt the drain on his energy but hid it well. Soon the ground became rocky and desolate once more, he knew for a fact they were back in T%suchi no kuni, back in his home country. The convoy of nin would have a small half hour break to rest, Kira sat alone in thought, his ANBU never too far away, draining a canteen of water he stood. The break was over. Within a couple of hours as the day began to draw to a close Kira spotted his village, within a short time they would be back and he could begin to make sense of the strange interruption. He needed to figure out his next move, for the briefest of moments he regretted ever have taking the mantle of the Kage.
