My sensei can't be human. It's like she's made of iron, or something even tougher.
"Heeey, Hina-chan, what're ya doing zoning out like that?"
A swift knock to her head threw Hinamori back into reality. "Wha-Owww!" she moaned, rubbing the rapidly forming lump. She glared spitefully at her sensei, a dark skinned woman with curious gold eyes, who only grinned back at her.
"Ugh, why are you always hitting me? You're so violent, Yoru-sensei." she whined, wincing.
The woman scoffed, shrugging her shoulders casually. If anything, she was really getting a kick out her student's ire. They've only been working together for a few months, but the younger girl had already latched on to her.
It was pretty cute.
"Hey, if you didn't drift off into Neverland I wouldn't have to drag you back. Seriously, your head is always in the clouds." she sighed plaintively, shrugging once more.
Hina fumed, her cheeks flushing hotly. "H-Hey! Don't act like i'm some heavy burden! And I do not have my head in the clouds!"
"Oh? Well, not always, I admit, but pretty often as of late." Suddenly she was by Hina's side, an arm draped over her shoulder. "I wonder why? I bet it's a boy, right?" she snickered teasingly, prodding her student's cheek.
"As if!" Hina spat, pushing her off. "Besides, it's not like I have any time for that kind of thing with you tailing me everywhere."
Yoru gasped, trusting her hand to her chest. "Oh, Hina-chan, how you wound me! I only have your best interests at heart, honest!"
"So you snatch up any guy I so much as look at?"
"Ehehe, maybe~"
"Pfft, whatever, enough banter." She crossed her arms under her chest, a habit she picked up from her sensei, and glanced sideways at the woman. "What's on the agenda for today?"
"Today we're gonna do something different, something simple." she used her fingers to quote the word 'simple', a cheshire grin on her face.
"Oh, please, do share."
"Today we are going to play a game of tag."
Her thighs were burning. No, everything, every part of her body was burning. It was just that her legs were getting the worst of it all. Her calves, her thighs, hell even her ass was burning with the familiar feeling of fatigue. She didn't exactly know, yet, how this technique worked but it was working every part of her lower body and even some of the rest.
Yoru just cackled louder as she made yet another attempt to tag her, collapsing to her knees as the woman vanished.
"Feelin' the burn, eh? I'll admit, you're doing a lot better than when I first tried it."
"Tried what?! You still haven't taught me that technique you're using!" Hina barked, shakily returning to her feet. "How am I supposed to catch you if all I have is my normal speed?"
"You also still have to wear the weights." The older woman pointed out.
"Exactly!"
Her sensei sighed and was silent for a moment. She supposed she could give the girl a small hint, something to motivate her a bit more.
"To use this technique, you need to build up your leg strength and speed. The ability itself is easy enough to use, but if you are slow from the beginning then there is no point." she explained. "Give me a little more effort and I will teach it to you soon."
Hina growled, "Fine!"
Her lungs were burning as well, and her tongue felt incredibly dry. With effort she pushed those out of her mind, forcing her fatigue down with sheer willpower. At least she had that, in spades. With a grunt she launched herself at the cat-eyed woman, pushing faster than before. It hurt, oh gods it hurt, but she did it.
Yoru smiled in pride at her student, but she was still a tease. She let Hina get close, really close, before vanishing. The teen tumbled to the ground yet again.
She was up, however, in a second.
"Hold still, damn it!" Yoru cackled again, vanishing yet again.
This time Hina didn't even pause. She knew that whenever she got within arms length of her sensei, the woman would just move to a different spot, usually somewhere behind her. So when she moved this time, Hina was just behind her. She didn't lunge to grab her, instead turning immediately on her heel and launching off in the direction she thought Yoru would appear in.
She was in luck.
The woman seemed off guard when she spotted Hina almost right on top of her.
Of course she only vanished again.
And this time Hina did fall.
"I hate you."
"Aw, don't say that, Hina-chan. You'll hurt my feelings."
"You don't have feelings, you monster."
Yoru feigned a pout. "Hmph, and you're no fun."
"Go die."
"Then how will I tech you Shunpo?"
Hina frowned, not moving from her face down position on the ground. It was dirty but she didn't give a shit less. Everything hurt and she wouldn't be walking or standing any time soon.
"...Is that what it's called?"
"Mhm~"
"...You better teach me when I can walk again."
Yoru grinned, nodding happily. "Of course~ Just rest a little, you'll be good as new in no time!"
