You aren't looking to kill each other and the first one to even TRY that is getting my boot up their ass." Halting his forward movement, he extended a hand back. While allowing the female to pass, he'd simply halt the boy, his palm acting as a signal to stop. Assuming he did as was shown, the samurai would continue. ''Sohjin. I've been training you for this, I hope you haven't been neglecting your training. You're my kin now, and if you slip up? She's gonna beat your ass. Don't let me down." He looked back and smiled at the boy, before giving him a firm pat on the back. ''Did I fucking SAY you could stop and admire the scenery, you little shit? Get MOVING!" Keeping in character, he looked back and winked, his body moving itself out of the way of the two. Within a wet, dimly lit alley, they'd likely find ample room to move throughout the battle. Though it was too pleasant on the eyes, the alleyway was littered with different obstacles and obstructions; giving them plenty to think about while they fought it out. Gulp.

He'd just survived an encounter not long ago from his father's assault, and already he was being put to another test. It seemed that this was what life was all about: Tests. Fail any one of them, and it could mean your life. "What a way to live.." Sohjin thought. Still, he was grateful for the experience. With an optimistic gleam in those serpentine eyes, his motion was halted by the powerful obstruction of Hasu's arm. He looked up in curiosity as his sensei spoke, earning a nod from the Hebi.

"I am ready, sensei. Letting you down isn't an option." he reassured him. His voice was full of confidence. Narrowed orbs further defined his determination, caught off guard only slightly by Hasu's feigned harshness toward him moments after their secret meeting had adjourned. He shook his head, and thereafter seperated himself from his sparring partner. Various boxes and other artificial obstacles lay stacked and spread out before them, puddles lacing the battleground and splashing every so often as his feet carried him toward the distance.

The Genin's headband flickered slightly against the backdrop of the dimly lit alley's "pleasant atmosphere", his stance no particular one as his hand found itself at the handle of his chokuto. Almost statuesque, he stared down the alley at the source of his opposition. He knew nothing about this young woman. Furthermore, they had just made each other's acquaintance. To put up no less than his absolute best was unforgivable...even if she was a girl.

But Sohjin knew better. His mother would tear him apart, one crow at a time, if he let manners get in the way of victory.

So it was settled... - He'd strike her in whatever fashion was necessary to win. Even if he had to bitch slap her into submission to do it.

The first time they met she immediately deemed him a figure worth being around, respect granted from a mixture of interest in his personality and acknowledgment of his power. Now, however, the so-called princess did not even flinch in the wake of his harsh words, and merely continued past the duo into the maw of the alleyway. When at last her boots ceased their clicking against the moist walkway, Nanashi did not turn to face them right away. Instead, she glanced down at the sword grasped firmly in her left hand—it was the dominant, but neither of her companions knew of her ambidextrous ability. It would ultimately come in handy, if not in this spar then certainly in the ones to follow. Glossed lips peeled back in a Cheshire grin, flashing white, even teeth to no one in particular. "Sensei, you're being rather contradictory. If I kill Sohjin-san you say you'll punish me, and yet our prize for winning is you refraining? With that logic, it would be easy to do as I please!"

It mattered little to her if the boy was prepared. Her hands had been moving during that speech, molding around the sleek figure of her sensei's lover. A girlish laugh escaped her, the vocal exclamation point that marked the advent of their conflict, in more ways than one. The chakra surged through her—poof, poof, poof—crows began to flash into existence in that small alleyway. There were at least fifty, their sheer number enough to obscure her dark figure completely as they soared around, a writhing mass of pseudo-living creatures.

Sanzengarasu no Jutsu

Range: See special!
Special: Crows can exist as far as the eye can see, or until the user leaves the thread, and take no additional chakra for upkeep. Up to 10 are summonsed the first time, with 10 more each time this jutsu is re-learned. Crows move almost as fast as kunai, and maintain a mental chakra connection to the user for the sake of communication.
Description: The base behind the Akegarasu is their control and use of crows in battle, displayed well with this technique. After forming a few simple seals, the crow king will call upon a murder of crows to fly around and envelop the target, causing confusion with their dark forms and quick movement. From here, either a comrade or the user can move within the flock wearing dark clothes and wielding a dark weapon almost undetected. With the target distracted by the crows, the ninja can strike more efficiently. Finally, the mass of crows can obscure any retreating ninja, as the crows are massive in numbers and composed of the user's chakra. When no longer needed, the murder of crows will simply puff away in smoke.

Sohjin's eyes widened to a significant degree as he witnessed the birth of her creatures, immediately recognizing the style in which she so effortlessly called them to her command. For one to be able to force these birds of murderous intent to do their bidding was no coincidence. It was their birthright. "Akegarasu...?" he thought. He wanted to end their skirmish right then and there...to ask her so many questions that could possibly bring him to understand his mother better. Images of his mother's talented ninjutsu began to flash along his attention's wall. And had it not been for the violent sound that they emitted when composed, he would have surely been too stunned to realize that he needed to get moving.

CAW! CAW! CAW! CAW! CAW! CAW! CAW! CAW! CAW!! CAAA-AAA-AAAAWWW!!!

"Damnit!" he thought. Do they never tire of that senseless call!? The very pitch of their speech was enough to tear his nerves in twain, forcing him to falter in his offensive thought processes. They were almost innumerable, forcing him to strain his eyesight to keep up with the woman before him. He was losing track of her, and that was a dangerous position to be in with such location preventing him from maneuvering like he wanted. Gathering his bearings, the Hebi took to kinetic energy.

Action.

Stepping forth from his right foot, an athletic Sohjin burst into what little speed was granted to his frame. Hasu would no doubt recognize the scream of steel that came thereafter, his chokuto released from its prison and streaking afront Sohjin's person in a swift, two slash motion. It would seem as though he were going to rush straight into the crows to find his prey..

....But to assume that he was that ignorant was a fatal mistake.

CRASH!

His foot connected harshly with a few wooden crates that lay nearby. Sending them forward with violent speed, they would be his shield of sorts to create an opening within the cloud of crows that protectively circled and swooped around their master. Whether she was truly Akegarasu or not was still to be confirmed, but conversation would have to wait. As the crates fly into her direct vicinity, a determined Sohjin found himself leaping into the air right behind them. The tenketsu upon his feet roared to life as he stuck to a nearby wall and advanced, kicking off of it only to find his approach slightly hidden by his makeshift projectiles.

A spinning kick would attempt to find its way into her abdomen, his blade held close to his person in lieu of a defensive motion if she managed to evade or defend.

The adrenaline pumping through his veins seemed to hint at his ability to win. But little did he know...Sohjin Kasake was WAY in over his own fucking head.

...And only time would tell if he'd even get to keep it on his shoulders.

Unfortunately for him, while Nanashi was particularly arrogant and confident in her abilities, Hasu taught her to never underestimate her opponent. Most shinobi would have taken more advantage of the swarm of crows that surrounded her, perhaps to prepare a secret jutsu or even advance upon their enemy without much restraint. The kuinkarasu had other things in store for her sparring partner; she knew it was the correct path when the crash of wood reached her ears. Unlike Sohjin, Nanashi was not at a disadvantage in the situation she orchestrated—the crows were linked to her mentally, constantly relaying an eddy of information. Location, location, location! The muscles in her legs tensed and she sprung into the air just as the crate rushed under her feet, intended to either distract her or protect him. She appeared to realize her mistake mid-air, for those luminous oculi widened; his foot spun out of the darkness and impacted her abdomen. Poof! A crow cawed is final breath before disappearing in a swirl of black mist, its system destroyed by the genin's powerful kick. It probably would have surprised him if she bothered to give him the time to register what had happened. Before his body could twist any further into that strike, the blunt tip of Hasu's hilt was aimed for a jab, dead-center between his shoulder blades. It wasn't an attack meant to kill him obviously—she was looking to injure him, and the potential trauma to a vertebrae in his spinal cord was meant to slow him down. Regardless of whether her trick had worked, Nanashi had no plans to stay in one place for long. A small handful of the crows surrounding her morphed together at her back, forming a pair of feathered wings that spread and caught the air, propelling her high, past the lip of the two buildings that formed their alleyway.

Kawarimi no Jutsu

Type: Supplementary / Ninjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Special: Switch is near-instantaneous. When first learned, Kawarimi can only be used once per thread, plus one more each time retrained. Can only be used once per turn, regardless of retraining.. Requires the user to switch with objects equal or smaller in size; cannot switch with other living people or animals.
Description: This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, the moment an attack hits. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. The user can then use this confusion to escape or launch a counter-attack - i.e. exploding tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise.

Crow Wings Technique

Type: Supplementary / Secret Technique
Range: See special!
Special: Grants the User wings that allow them to take flight as long as the technique is active. The wings can stand up to C rank and below attacks. Wings can be repaired unless the user is out of crows or crows are burned.
Description: By connecting with the crows people of the Akegarasu can summon the flock to form wings on the users back. Often in night these wings cannot be seen. The Akegarasu’s formation of this technique was solely for traveling, but as the war pushed on the wings became more useful for battle purposes. Since the crows were formed from the sanzengarasu no jutsu and are not constantly fed chakra continuous chakra flowis not needed.

It seemed as though his "projectiles" had served their purpose. Not only in their initially planned ministrations, but for a second operation as well. Hasu-Sama's words rang true as the Kage Hebi's foot connected with the woman's frame, his eyes narrowed as his fingers grasped the hilt of his blade in steady anticipation.

"Never take your eyes off of the opponent."

Surely, the woman had learned the same lesson. After all, they were students of the great swordsman Hasu. Indeed, his appendage had stretched out and made bodily contact with its intended target. But if one were to pay attention, anomalies were ever present in Sohjin's attack. Proper preparation lay within his kick to the crates. Not only did they serve to seperate the cloud of crows that had surrounded her, but it had allowed him to view her ministrations from the distance. Even if for a small window, he knew full well that she would be able to see his offensive tactics from miles away. To have placed everything into a single blow was foolish - unless of course, you had the master swordsmanship of his sensei.

Surprise? Hardly.

Serpentine eyes used peripheral vision to quickly assess the situation as the plume of smoke formed, the majority of his body's control still his as his eyes scanned the immediate proximity for her. A glimpse of her counterattack was all that he needed, his hand moving along his chokuto's scabbard to quickly push it into harm's way. Not only would the hilt of Hasu's instrument find its way into his sword's protective covering, but he would use the momentum of her strike to push himself forward and toward the ground.

But such efforts were not without consequence.

The Genin's back felt a small amount of pain from the attack, absorbing only some of the blow so as to keep his mobility at full capacity. She was smart - smart enough to aim for areas of a shinobi's body that were not easily guarded. As his body collided with the edifice below, his shoulder would have to embrace much of the impact. A loud grunt escaped Sohjin's maw as he rolled multiple times, thereafter smacking his free hand to the ground in order to launch himself to stand. He witnessed the woman's wings allow her flight. Damnit..

"You're Akegarasu!! ...What do you know of the name Asuka!?" he shouted.

Sohjin shot a glare toward Hasu, regardless of the consequence it would bring later. He knew full well that the Kage Hebi were under much pressure from the clan. He would have to ignore his feelings for now, but a heart to heart was more than in order whether he won or lost. "Concentrate, Kasake.."

Once more supplying his appendages with that surge of chakra, Sohjin once more took to the air after Misaki. The highest building that created their alley would be his edifice, and it was there that he knelt down and began to retrieve his metallic companions. Two senbon in each hand, gifted with an explosive prowess, would suddenly find their way toward Misaki's vicinity. Thrown to either side of her flight's path, he gave only momentary notice before unleashing their ferocity.

A handseal.

There, within the skies, the resounding explosion would create a masterpiece of flame and smoke alike. If the force did not bring her earthward, then it was of no consequence. The first phase was complete, and the second was quickly processing after his first handseal had ended.

It was entirely possible that the wind rushing by filled her ears, or perhaps it was the flapping of those strong wings. Either way, it mattered very little. Nanashi refused to reply to him, instead twisting in midair to stare down at the boyish figure. But then, he was coming to meet her. The crows squawked loudly and the entire murder chased him, a living wave of distraction and violence. It was quite obvious that they would peck out his eyes themselves if she would allow it; fortunately, the girl had other plans. She had completed her hand seals as he knelt down atop the highest roof, and around her at least twenty of the crows began to converge, molding together in much the same way as her wings. Instead? When the feathers had finished flying and her figure was no longer hidden from view by the plethora of bodies, there were three Nanashi. Three. Each one sported wings; each one had an exact replica of Hasu's lovely sword. Likewise, all of them had a wicked smile slashed across a pale face, laughter bubbling to the surface. This was pure, unadulterated joy. Then, not unlike a bird themselves, they swooped in unison. This was about the same time his kunai were flicked into the air. The Nanashi on both the left and right sped up as they dove toward him, but the center one extended her wings, attempting to allow the kunai to embed into those beautiful feathers. Little did she know, of course, that they held a surprise—boom! The clone exploded, fire surging around her figure as it melted, unable to reform. Of course, it wasn't that particular clone he had to worry about, was it? The two still rushed him, the left holding her sword perpendicular, flat-edge out; she planned to barrel into him like that, a cannon without the ability to cut. Her twin, however, heaved her sword back in a graceful arc. If she managed to get too close, there was no doubt she would try to slice him, with those green eyes locked onto his broad chest.

Karasu Bunshin no Jutsu

Type: Supplementary / Secret Technique
Range: See special!
Special: Each clone requires 10 crows for creation. Clones, like the crows, can exist as far as the eye can see, or until the user leaves the thread, and take no additional chakra for upkeep. Clones move at crow speed, and can perform any Akegarasu jutsu the user knows. Clones disperse and reform once before being defeated, but each time this jutsu is re-learned, an additional reformation charge is gained.
Description: Once a murder of crows has been summoned in the hands of an experienced Akegarasu, a variety of sub-creations can be made to make the user deadly in battle. In this case with a sufficient amount of crows, the user forms a single seal - bird! - and calls them together in order to form of themselves. Unlike regular bunshin, the crow clone has substance, can move at the same speed as an individual crow, and best of all, scatters when struck for re-use. Although the clone is not spawned with the user's inventory, they will attain whatever main weaponry the user has at the time, if any. When struck by concentrated blows from bladed/blunt weaponry or even a bare fist, crows disperse and revert back to crow form instantly for further use. However, widespread, area-of-effect attacks such as elemental ninjutsu (katon, raiton, etc.) defeat the crows instantly.

"So resilient..!"

Sohjin couldn't believe his eyes. Serpentine occuli narrowed in frustration as his kunai hit home, but leaving much to be desired as only one of his "adversaries" was consumed within the bulk of his flame. He wouldn't even have time to carry out Plan B - but much like Misaki, he was more than able to adapt to the situation. The Kage Hebi were stronger than to let such tricks deceive. And yet, she was the most convincing he'd ever seen.

As his opponent drew close, he knew that there was naught that he could truly do. Gripping the handle of his chokuto with renewed vigor, he leapt skyward. To dodge the blow? Hardly. But to be able to minimize her ability to strike him with such odds stacked against a single Genin. He would collide with the first of his attackers; waiting until she was close enough, he began a front flip and used her body as leverage. Either of his appendages was placed against her shoulders as the momentum carried him, forcing the woman to speed with an increased acceleration into the rooftop below them. Such swift movement left him in a perfect position for the next attacker

..A blade!?

The gleam of Hasu's blade told an ominous tale. His shoulder pain caused him to wince as he readied his own sword once more, slamming the flat of it directly into Misaki's instrument of destruction as it came toward him. A grunt escaped his lips as he twisted in mid-air, sending her frame spiraling away from him. If nothing else, he'd hoped to buy himself more time. A swift plant of his feet upon the edifice below would grant him a reprieve, but there was still much to be done. This is insane..

Should no interruption be presented to him, Kasake would break out into a dash away from his opponent. Chakra once more fed his evasive maneuvers, allowing him to scale down the side of the building and back into the alleyway. He would retreat into its darkness, handseals busily weaving themselves into reality as labored breaths took him. Hasu had always taught him to strategize....and if nothing else? Beat them to death with whatever you could get your hands on.

Little did Misaki know - He had an alternative that she would find most effective.
