Family is a bond that transcend all distances, boundaries, and blights. Families are strong, bonded by blood and love together. The Kekkai are a clan of close people, bonded together under a central figure, the figure usually being the most elder and strongest of their number, regardless of gender. The abilities of the members are varied, but one thing that ties them all together are the fact that they are all shinobi. The family is accepting of each other, and of new members, happy to spread the pride and love of Kekkai. Individuals are proud to bear the name, even after the destruction of their home and their spreading among the lands. They almost all bear great pride in their home nation, and wish the return of Amegakure no Sato to the world.
Unique Features: A majority of the family bear the Akadou hiden jutsu, but that isn't solely what members are known to wield. Direct even may have different genetic abilities. Orange hair is also a trait of almost all of those in the clain, a rare dominant gene. Those born without the orange hair often permanently dye it, as the color is seen as a symbol of the Kekkai. The emblem of the clan, too, is a symbol, worn often by members, whether it be on their clothing, a part of a necklace, or whatever.

Many years ago, before the wars that lead to Amegakure's destruction, two brothers, both said to be the saviors of Amegakure, were brought into existence. These brothers were widely commonly among Kekkai as Oni & Yōkai Tenzou. As children, the two brothers were nearly inseparable, always playing and training amongst one another, even going so far as to pull practical jokes. Through the city, they ran rampant and vandalized Amegakure to the point where it was nearly unrecognizable. Having raised so much harmless hell, civilians and even their parents called them demons and children spawned from hell. Seeking to provide the brothers with discipline that the parents were unable to give, they were thrust into Amegakure's military against their own wills. In the beginning stages of their path to ninja-hood, the Tenzou brothers viewed it as a punishment from their parents and initially were reluctant to learn anything at all.
However, with time, they learned different skills and techniques that only enhanced their mischievous ways, opposite of what their parents had been trying to achieve. Interested in what had been taught at the academy, the brothers decided to stick with it full time. Upon graduating, the two made it necessary that they stuck together no matter what. For months at a time the duo performed and competed mission after mission, however, a gap in power was slowly established between the two. Oni, the youngest of the two began to push himself and exceed all possible limits, leaving his elder brother behind in more ways than one. Even during Amegakure's own personal chuunin exam, Oni moved up in rank while Yokai remained a mere genin. It was from that point on that Jealousy began festering inside of Yokai's heart. Day by day, Yokai's envy and jealousy seemed to grow, and it had done so for years.
Going into adulthood, Oni managed to attain the position of Jounin Gashira within Amegakure, and during that time Yokai fell into his younger brothers shadows where he resided and devised his plan to rise to the top and steal his brothers fame. It was during his time of planning that he slipped out of the village discreetly and traveled a great many lands in an attempt to satisfy his lust for power and shatter the psychological chains that kept him in Oni's shadow. Fortunately, during his search where he desired to find power, he found love instead, a woman whose beauty was never before seen within the land of rain. Yokai adored her, worshiped the ground beneath her feet and even the pulls of air that escaped her lungs. Yokai was Obsessed.
He took pride in what he found and decided to show her off to his village, peers, and family as if she had been a priceless piece of jewelry. In doing so, Oni saw her, exchanged looks, and almost immediately became obsessed with her beauty just as equally if not more than Yokai himself. The woman who Yokai fancied to be faithful, had an affair with his own flesh and blood, aiming to obtain a portion of Oni's earnings as a Jounin Commander of Amegakure. Finding the woman irresistible, Oni indulged into repeatedly pleasure his brothers woman, however, he had been a fool to have thought that their affair would have remained in the darkness for eternity. Sooner than anticipated, Yokai discovered their affair, and in a fit of rash murdered the woman they both obsessed over in cold blood. Thereafter, Yokai's new target was his younger brother whom he swore to kill in the name adultery despite having not even been married. Yokai merely needed only a sliver of incentive to have made an attempt on his own brothers life.
For what seemed like hours, the two brothers battled, but unfortunately, Oni emerged the victor and spared his elder brother. Yokai begged for his life, begged for forgiveness, and even desperately claimed that he would have changed his ways were he to walk away alive. Foolishly believing his words, Oni stepped in to help his Yokai to his feet. Just as Oni pulled Yokai up, a kunai spring hidden within his sleeve sprung out as it drilled into Oni's neck. Seconds before his death, Oni cursed his older brother, claiming that he wished to see him burn in hell's everlasting flames.
Knowing that the only person that would have been powerful enough to truly stop Yokai was his own brother, he forced himself into the position of Jounin Commander and changed his surname so that the family he decided to create would start anew.

With his elder brother dead, Yokai's warped mind convinced himself that he had been freed from his younger brothers shadow. Like the cold, heartless beast that he grew to be, he felt not even a sliver of guilt or remorse for the outcome of their tragic battle. Believing to have reclaimed the fame and glory that had been stolen from his brother, Yokai found love yet again, and with it, conceived a baby girl. This girl, Hosenka Kekkai, had been the first of many to have been born under the name of Yokai's newly formed family. Yokai loved his daughter as though aiding her coming into existence was his absolute and one true purpose throughout his life. Given her fathers background as a seasoned shinobi, her fate -in a way- had already been predetermined; the moment when Hosenka began to take her very first steps, Yokai and even her mother trained her, and it was during their tutelage that her knowledge of an advanced release was passed down from her mother. With training, Hosenka learned to control Futton, however, her personality rivaled the corrosion of her Futton abilities.
Hosenka was a ill tempered woman with an unwavering stubbornness and in terms of mischief, she'd been nothing like her father and deceased uncle. In fact, other than her temper, she was known to be quite polite and well mannered around her peers and superiors. In a nut shell, as long as Hosenka remained clam and relaxed, she was nothing less than a sweetheart. Nevertheless, she entered the academy after having been pressured into the life of a shinobi, knowing it was one of the few things that would have made her father proud. For years she honed her skills and abilities to climb the ladder just as her deceased uncle had done during his prime. Unfortunately, her career as a shinobi was short lived as she had been ambushed one day by a group of unidentifiable mercenary ninja.
Her father had been tipped off by local scouts, and because of it, managed to fend off the ambush and save his daughter. Although Hosenka made it out with her life, the mercenary ninja managed to sever her right forearm from the elbow. Devatsted by the outcome, she retired as a shinobi and went on to fulfill her dream - to open a teeming restaurant within Amegakure. As a one armed chef, she opened said restaurant and managed to keep it afloat for a great many years with consistent customers. It was during that time that she fell in love with a yearly customer, a Kage-hebi, a man who she admired and adored. They planned to get married almost immediately, however, the death of her father, Yokai Kekkai, prolonged the ceremony. After giving herself time to cope with her fathers death, Hosenka went on with her wedding cermony and with her first and only husband, bore the first of four children - Aikyou Kekkai. She, just like her mother, inherited the orange hair and chakra leeching abilities that had become the trademark signs of their family.
Roughly four years later, Hosenka gave birth to her second child, Yuu Aimery Kekkai. Unlike his elder sister, Yuu inherited his fathers Kage-hebi genes, yet, still managed to retain the orange hair of his mother. Years after, they gave birth to their final two children, Masuyo & Kodai Kekkai, both of which took after their mother completely. Unfortunately, Hosenka succumbed to the birthing process of Kodai as her healthy children lived on. As a result their father, in a fit of overwhelming grief, stereo-typically became an alcoholic and succumbed to cirrhosis.

After the passing of their parents, the Kekkai siblings were taken in by their grandmother, however, as they had gotten older, tending to four children had gotten the best of her. Just like their their parents and grandparents and great grandparents, the four children enlisted (once old enough) into Amegakure's military, just before its destruction. Tension within the village had been rising due to the preparation and fear of being attacked at any possible moment by neighboring countries. Nevertheless, Aikyou had already graduated the academy and raised to the rank of Chuunin, leaving her younger siblings behind in power, rank, and skill.
Fortunately, she still managed to make time for her family and watched over them, cared for them, and even made sure they were equipped with the deadliest tools and skills as a Ninja. One might have called it a curse or simply déjà vu but Yuu quickly noticed the increasing powers of his elder sister and just like his grandfather, jealousy festered. For years the four lived their lives as normal ninja, save for Yuu who plotted against his own kin like a madman - it all runs in the family.
Shortly after Aikyou was promoted to Jounin, Masuyo began to suddenly tap into his hidden potential, managing to graduate quite early out of the academy at the age of 6. Shortly after, Amegakure was attacked out of nowhere and whoever it issued the attack hit hard and fast! Masuyo would have fought to the death for his village, unfortunately, he had been ordered to stay home with his youngest brother until all the commotion stopped. Side by side, Yuu and Aikyou, brother and sister, fought valiantly but to no avail. The battle was long and tedious -annoyingly so, but as it reached its climax, everything but the past was wiped out and destroyed.
Of all things to have risen from countless corpses and piles of rubble, Yuu raised up and was virtually unharmed. Just as he planned, he went to meet up with an escort group that he expected to have been carrying his sister, drugged and unconscious. The escort group hauled her away to be used as a specimen all thanks to her special abilities. Knowing the full extent of Aikyou's power, Yuu knew he couldn't have captured her without and help. The night before she shared what she thought could have been her last possible drink, but Yuu's evil ways led him to drug Aikyou's drink.
Carrying a long lasting effect, the drug hadn't kicked in until after the battle ensued which left her completely defenseless against Yuu's lackeys. With time, the results of the battle reached the ears of all survivors. Young Masuyo had been told his sister was killed in action; in denial and disbelief, he blindly abandoned Amegakure and sought out power just as his grandfather Yokai once did. During his travels, he met up with various high classed shinobi such as Uchiha Faust who later became his mentor of seven years. Thereafter, the two went their separate ways and Masuyo continued his search faithfully.
His luck took a turn for the better as he met the notorious Kouketsu Uchiha who had been willing to provide Masuyo with a power almost extinct to the world - Kuchiyose. Upon taming (after obtaining) the family family of legendary battle bears, he met with Namyeol who then introduced Masuyo to his most memorable mentor, Shiju. Under his tutelage, Masuyo learned to control senjutsu chakra, however, his heart and soul continued to blindly linger down a dark path. In an attempt to reverse Masuyo's evil aura, Shiju sent him out to "complete an impossible task." Being at such a young age, Masuyo's mind misinterpreted the task which resulted in the cataclysmal attack on Kami no shima. Masuyo killed thousands in the name of establishing his power to the world and laying waste to Kaminari's capital which he registered as an "impossible task."
Disappointed in his student's actions, Shiju banned Masuyo from Mount Youbin until his soul had been cleansed. Devastated and lost with nowhere or anyone to turn to, he was approached by his sister, but only through a potent genjutsu! Just hearing her voice and seeing her face had been enough to completely cure his mind of his blind anger and hastiness. Granted, the encounter helped him, but it had not managed to fully cleanse his soul. Fortunately, Shiju knew of a way to do so, but only with a life threatening repercussion.
Confronted by an entity that only existed in stories and religious doctrines, the Shinigami emerged and cleansed Masuyo's soul, but, in doing so, deprived him of his life. Getting what it so desperately desired, the shinigami devoured his soul. Watching his student's life hang in the Shiju sacrificed his own life to fully restore his pupil's own. Revived, Masuyo completed his training and attained the powers of the sage. Thereafter, he set out to expand his family and provide a home for them live without fear of being harmed.

Having finally confronted AU-2 face to face, the entire group falls under attack, witnessing AU-2 unprecedented power with their own eyes. Saved by Goryo, his condition remains unknown after buying the others some time entire the Pipelines.

Having located the village's pipelines, the group gradually makes their way into the heart of the village, however, what lies ahead remains unknown.
