There was no getting around it. The Exams were quite a harrowing experience for the Kusa Genin. He didn't even make the cut, which disappointed him, but given what he had gone through while he was conscious, he was lucky to even be alive right now.
Ujiyasu approached the gates with a more worn out expression riddled all over his features. His arms and legs were still bandaged up after taking the shrapnel from the exploding pouches, and a few scabbed-over cuts could be seen on his cheeks and forehead, as those cuts healed nicely. His chakra had been replenished, and that was the second thing the medics over in Mizu had done, after they stopped the bleeding.
He had spent the trip back to Kusagakure, piecing together what had happened, after all he had been knocked out through most of the exams, with no way of continuing despite his desire to become Chuunin. His memory had him close to death... he could feel that death was close. It was difficult to explain, but because his chakra reserves were critically low, his entire body felt like he could have died from exhaustion at any moment. It took a heap of willpower to have walked as far as he did before his legs, and his mind, gave in to fatigue.
He knew he was also traveling lighter than before. Thankfully he still retained his gas mask and his weapon. His headband was also placed on his bedside table, something that had puzzled him while he was in recovery. Did it fall off? No... it couldn't have. He remembered wearing it when he tried to reach the gates. So why was it off his person? Had someone tried to take it as some kind of trophy?
The thought of how callous people were made the boy sick.
An ANBU Shinobi descended and stopped Ujiyasu at the gates. After the young boy proved to the man that he was indeed who he said he was, he entered the gates, and returned home. Home, where he would reflect on what the Exams had taught him. Home, where he would redouble his efforts and ensure that Kusagakure would never put up with being sacked by those people ever again.
OOC:
Ujiyasu checking in. Returning from the Exams.
