Kusagakure Gates

The kunai struck home. With a meaty thunk the enhanced kunai lodged itself deep in the man’s chest. With this, Ujiyasu knew it was the end. With that, it was also the first kill Ujiyasu had made ever. He didn’t like that it was a man from Kusagakure, but he knew that reality barely ever matched one’s ideals.
The man’s failing body still clung to consciousness, as if granting the man one final effort, and it was then that Ujiyasu saw exactly what this “effort” would be. He exposed his now stained sternum, and revealed it was covered in what looked like many Exploding Tags. What was worse: he ran for Ujiyasu as fast as his failing legs could.
SHIT!
It was a blessing that Ujiyasu braced himself for something in case his kunai attack failed, and it may as well have, given that this man’s last action was to try and take Ujiyasu with him. Without thinking, Ujiyasu released the burst of chakra and rushed ten metres further away from the man. There was no telling just how powerful the explosion could be with that many explosives on him, so he just continued to run.
A loud KABOOM was the signal that it was finally over, and while the blast was much stronger than he figured, he was thankful that he had enough distance between them. Ujiyasu turned to face the smouldering flames that licked the small crater that once held a crazed man, who put everything on the line to get his revenge. People like him suffered because of the nature of this world, and Ujiyasu was sure that if things had been different, perhaps they might have gotten along well as fellow shinobi.
Ujiyasu’s body shook slightly, both from the fatigue, and from the fact that he had killed someone, and managed to escape being killed a second time. The sudden rush of emotion, thoughts and the adrenalin prompted the boy to collapse onto one knee and hurl. Within seconds, the Kusagakure ANBU arrived next to him and talked to him, knowing what he was going through all too well.
“Hey, chin up... you did Kusagakure proud today. You knew going into this, that you would have to kill sooner or later, much like you knew you would die some day. It comes with being a shinobi.”
Ujiyasu simply nodded and got up on jelly legs. The shock of everything that occurred left him just as shaken as the Chuunin Exams did. He knew that things would be this way, but there was no way anyone could have truly prepared for this on their very first time... not unless they were monsters themselves.
“I’ll be alright. This just... overwhelmed me.”
“The first kill is always the hardest. Once your mind settles down from the moral crisis, you’ll realise that there are times where killing is necessary. It won’t be all the time, but you will be required to take more lives.”
“Yeah...”
“Anyway, take a few moments, then return to your post. You won’t have long left before you’re good to go, then make sure you take some time to yourself, your friends and such. You did good Ujiyasu. You’ll be the talk of the town for a few days at least, for saving everyone from the carnage.”
What the ANBU didn’t say, was that the man would have died no matter what, seeing as the ANBU would have eliminated him quickly should the Genin have failed. It was vital that he saw the grim reality of being a Shinobi first hand, that and the ANBU wanted to see how the boy had progressed. He needed time, but they knew he would improve considerably in time.
As Ujiyasu turned to his post, he radioed the ANBU around the perimeter, confirming the successful defence, and mentioned that there were scorched remains to retrieve. Despite how deranged the man was, he was still a man of Kusa. Maybe somewhere he would be buried... but it was more likely that his body would be kept safe from other nations, as he did hold village secrets within his very being. Or so legend has it anyway.

After a few hours passed, nothing significant occurred, which was a relief. Ujiyasu was informed via radio to return to the gate. The ANBU who greeted him at the gate was there, with his arms folded, the bull mask once again concealed his face.
“Well done Ujiyasu. I’ve signed the mission slip and you’ll receive your payment when you return to the compound. Take a little time off for yourself if you need to, but remember: no matter how much you try not to kill, you will not be able to avoid it. You will kill more people throughout your career. That is the life of shinobi. We kill who we’re told to, and we do everything we can to ensure the safety of our village. Remember the village, and let the people strengthen your resolve.”
“Yessir.”
It was all Ujiyasu could say after this rather dramatic turn of events. With a respectful bow, the boy made his way back into the village, signed mission slip in hand. He didn’t know what he would do, but he knew there was a lot he could try and do to ease his mind.

Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique)
Rank: D.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: 0 - 10m.
Handseals: -
Chakra: Low.
Special: Despite popular belief, this is not an ability that allows an individual to teleport, or even move incomprehensibly fast. It simply combines high mobility with some disruption of visibility to conceal those movements. That in mind, if you can conceal your movement, it is common for this technique to allow very long-distance dashes before enemies may notice you.
Description: Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic ninjutsu technique used across the shinobi world by all, ranging from the most basic shinobi to the legends of lore. Considered is a high-speed movement technique - to an observer caught in the optical illusion, it appears as if the user has teleported. This allows the user to escape or attack suddenly, should they need to. However, while a high-speed movement, if used in broad daylight, one will still be quite visible and as such, easier to be defended against. In order to achieve maximum effect, the user must to combine it with a distraction.
Domain: Universal Ninjutsu.
