# Chomachi Akimichi

After returning from Miyako with Team Akuseru, he took a few days to himself to enjoy the stability and peace within the Leaf. He hadn't forgotten how good they had it in the Land of Fire, it was just made more apparent after witnessing the chaos that reigned over Mizu no Kuni. Knowing that he added to that chaos would have eaten away at a younger Masafumi, but the boy was a man now and that kind of thinking would only be to the detriment of a chuunin. So instead, he blocked it out of his mind and accounted it to another mission accomplished in the name of the Hidden Leaf.

Exiting the main entrance of the Hokage's Castle his skin glowed with an olive hue as the sun shone down upon him. It was the result of his rest days in which he did what he enjoyed most...sunbathing a top the Hokage's Monument. Shirtless, he walked the streets of Konoha lapping up every ounce of sunlight on offer like the summer child he was. The notion of decency often escaped him and he simply wore his trademark orange hat and pair of black shorts. A scroll could be seen clutched in his left hand - another mission he had been asked to complete on behalf of the Hokage. He was instructed to bring a genin with him, the choice of who was his own.

Team Akuseru was away on another mission so Masafumi had to wrack his brain for who he could possibly bring. He remembered the words of his father, words that had been passed down through generations of the Sarutobi Ichizoku. It had become tradition for senior members of the Sarutobi clan to nurture the growth of Ino-shika-cho, or at least, the sum of its parts. With that in mind he had already contacted Chomachi, a young Akimichi genin who he knew had just completed a mission and was free.

He had told the young Akimichi to meet him inside the Gates entrance. With hands in his pockets he waited for his companion, all the while tilting his head up to enjoy the rays that beamed down on him from above.

{MISSION }Engage - Bandits

Description: A group of bandits have been said to be threatening our caravans on the main road outside of the Forest of Death. Your job is simple, you must go defeat the bandits - utterly. That is, every bandit must be dealt with in the only manner befitting them, death. You must bring back some sort of proof you have defeated these bandits.
Restrictions: No limitation
Rewards: 75 EXP, 5000 RYO

[Chomachi Akimichi]

Chomachi was not the fastest kid to have come out of the ninja academy. Indeed he was as slow as most of the children who had focused on the ninjutsu arts. In a way it was a set back for the taijutsu masters that the Akimichi were known as. Still what they lacked in speed they made up for in strength and Chomachi had plenty of that. So even though he was waddling a bit in his jog he was still jogging at least, this with the tagged giant shuriken snapped to the back of his olive green jacket by a pair of snap fasteners and his satchel over his shoulder.

A chip bag clutched in his right hand, a prize he had reserved as the carrot to be eaten once he had gotten to the gate. It had kept him going, though the crowded streets, still Masafumi would be able to spot him through the crowds blocks away if he wanted to. After all a heavy set kid running was not something you generally stood in the way of or, well, missed. Chomachi was different as was all that of the Akimichi clan, outliers in the general fitness most other ninjas kept within the land of fire. The fat was needed for the clans expansion jutsu that increased their hand to hand combat effectiveness.

Out of breath by the time he got to the inside of the village gates he would tilt his head back as he sucked in air. Not wanting to tilt forward least he let his whole body collapse to the ground. Chomachi would open the bag of chips that he had saved. The sound seeming to fill him with new life and snap him into the now.

"So sorry, I hope that I did not keep you waiting.", His left hand dipping into the bag of salt and lime potato chips as he continued."I was busy putting together some equipment." His head jerked to notion behind his shoulder at the giant shuriken that had the ten tags firmly placed upon it. His left hand raising as he did so in order to bring the chip to his lips. He really did hope his wait had not been to much of a hassle, and by the energy that came to him as he prepared to eat his most favorite of chips, he was indeed rearing to go.

Ishikawa had looked for a mission to take that he felt could push his abilities as a Genin. Granted, at best he could have gone for a C Ranked mission which would have been decent, though he did want to take up something more substantial if he got the chance. He was fortunate when he learned that there was a mission that currently had a Chuunin looking for Genin to collectively take on this particular B Ranked mission.

Looking over the details, Ishikawa raised an eyebrow. So they would kill all the bandits, no survivors… complete annihilation. He supposed that would be the nature of B Ranks, since the kid gloves would come off by then. Threats like these bandits would not be tolerated, especially when lives were at stake. Today will be the day he gets his first kill. It was a harrowing thought for the kid, but he knew it would happen someday. Such was the life of a Shinobi.

Having packed the gear he would need, the dirty-blond haired Genin made his way to the Gates, dressing himself in a brown-green attire suited for the Forest of Death. As much as he’d like to wear his red number, he felt that stealth may be a better approach today. He didn’t know how good these bandits were, and he needed every edge he could get to pull his weight. He was thankful he knew some Fuuton as well. That should help out a little.

Holding his ninjtao in its sheathe with his right hand, Ishikawa walked to the gates, with all the equipment he brought with him. He spotted who he believed to be the Chuunin heading the group, and a Genin standing around as if they were waiting, so Ishikawa made himself known and bowed respectfully.

“Sorry to keep you waiting. I only just learned of this mission, so I got prepared as quickly as I could. Ishikawa Matsunaga, happy to work with you both... comrades. “

Ishikawa smiled happily at the thought that he may make new friends today despite the bloodshed they were about toc ommit. It was a morbid thought, but Ishikawa never shied away from his belief that he viewed everyone as a friend and comrade.

He noticed Chomachi straight away as his figure came into view, his thunderous arrival hard to ignore as the young Akimichi apologised for his lateness. Masafumi raised his hand to the top of hat and smiled. In all honesty he didn't have the faintest clue what the current time was. "No problem. I guess we're waiting for one more though..." he spoke as his emerald eyes surveyed the crowds for their last member. It was late morning in the village and the streets were busy with civilians eating in the numerous restaurants and shopping in the markets. 

It took a few minutes before he saw what he was looking for. Matsunaga Ishikawa... he was the other ninja who had signed up to participate in this mission. Masafumi only had his basic credentials to go by as they had never met. But when young shinobi with long blonde hair approached he was certain that was the guy. Coming to a stop he apologised for his lateness, much like Chomachi moments earlier. Damn what even is the time?! he thought curiously as he waved it off. At this point the time didn't really matter as the caravans had already been instructed to wait until their Cell arrived at the location. 

"Hi, my name is Sarutobi Masafumi and I'll be the chuunin leading this mission," he said energetically.

"We've been tasked by the Hokage to exterminate a group of bandits who've been causing trouble to the trade along main road..." 

"Hostility is expected but we will go over it more when we arrive. We'll move out to the location now if everyone is ready?" Turning to each of them once to confirm he then spun around and set off for the gate. 

With the scroll still clutched in his hand he walked to a small booth by the village gate and struck up a short conversation with one of the guards. Handing the scroll over their details were now known to patrol and their leaving time noted in their records with the expectation they'd be back by nightfall. Any later and a notice would be put out for their whereabouts.

Small group, but I guess this task doesn’t need much manpower to deal with. If I can pull this off with these two, it should be a great feather in my cap! Ishikawa thought, emboldened and encouraged by the opportunity this mission presented. He hadn’t been a Genin for too long, but the boy knew he could do something, and if he could pull off a mission like this as a team, then he knew he’d be on the right track. So would other people. This kind of mission could easily be a breakthrough mission that could send his career into the stratosphere.

Of course it could also be the end of his story too.

Ishikawa never thought such things however. He knew there was much he felt he could do, and he’d be damned if that ended so soon!

Masafuni gave the duo a briefing on their mission, then asked if they were ready. Ishikawa nodded, having brought what he felt he needed along for the mission. He was pretty eager to get started, and more eager to bring these bandits down and return successful. That’s not to say he was getting ahead of himself, he was simply eager to take full advantage of this opportunity.

“All set!”

With that, Ishikawa saw Masafuni approach and converse with the guard, no doubt informing them of their task. Ishikawa simply prepared himself mentally for the task ahead. This was to be his toughest challenge yet.

A nod and a word was all he needed to propel himself out of the gates. Time was of the essence and he wanted things to go smoothly. Looking back at Ishikawa he could see him following but no Chomachi? It wouldn't matter, for now they just needed to arrive on time. He was confident that Ishikawa and him would be able to handle these bandits.

Sprinting down the road that lead out of the village the figures of the Konoha ninja would soon shift left as they dart off into the surrounding forest. A large forest surrounded the village walls allowing for perfect cover when travelling as the large branches were perfect to propel oneself off of. Skipping from one branch to the other, Ishikawa would move in tandem with the chuunin as their location was though the other end of the woods.

Looking over his shoulder he yelled back to the genin. "I've got a small party so be on alert. Is this your first B-rank mission?"
