Description: Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic ninjutsu technique used across the shinobi world by all, ranging from the most basic shinobi to the legends of lore. Considered is a high-speed movement technique, it allows a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed - to an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. Such a feat is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds they would otherwise be unable to reproduce. In the end, the user will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly should they need it. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance.
Domain: Shunshin - Universal Ninjutsu.

FLASHBACK- ATLAS, 13 YRS OLD
Training for the body flicker began with a simple breathing exercise. Relaxing the tendons in his muscles with deep inhales of air- one, two, three four, hold- and deep exhales- one, two, three, four. The chakra flowed harmoniously within his body, through his veins, through his mind. A shiver of delight, pure relaxation and calm, and the young warrior was ready to begin. He pulled out a pair of knives from his satchel and stabbed them into the moist, grassy ground several meters apart from each other. They would be used as markers, to gauge the distance he could travel with the body flicker. To measure his progress with the popular technique.
He sauntered over besides one of the erect weapons and focused his eyes on the other, approximately ten meters ahead of him. How did that Chuunin at the Academy do it again? Something with the feet and ankles, definitely something with the feet and ankles… Without a single hand seal, but with his mind, he willed his chakra to gather and mingle together around his feet. The same way he would whenever he planned on walking on water, or scaling a tree. It wasn’t difficult. In fact, he could practically do that in his sleep. Those techniques were basics at the Academy. But now he’d learn how to focus that energy and use it for the body flicker.
So he started. He focused his chakra, his chi, on specific locations on his feet. His ankles and his heel. He could feel the energy tingling beneath his skin, begging to be used, begging to release. But he had to think this through first. The body flicker technique was used primarily to close in on an opponent at a rapid speed, shooting forward at a pace so fast it was nigh untraceable. It required minimal concentration once learned, they’d said, but could prove to be harmful if used over one’s limit. There was no doubt- he'd need to be careful, lest he wanted a broken ankle and an untimely trip to the ER.
He took a step forward, with the chakra buzzing around his heels and ankles, and felt the sudden urge to run. The energy was actually attempting to push him, though if it was for his own benefit or not, he didn't know. Maybe it was just unbalanced? He stopped moving and closed his eyes, connecting to his chakra again and focusing on its balance. Too much of it and he'd probably dart off-course and fall face first into the ground... too little and he wouldn't take-off to begin with. Confident in the quantity of chakra he had now, the young swordsman relaxed his shoulders, bent his knees and darted forward... only to realize he had run at a normal pace. He stopped, shook his head, and turned around to take his place back at the knife marker. Too little. The technique needs more chakra. I wonder what else I might be doing wrong?
