Special: When B rank, the user will require their hand to cover the victim's forehead. When A rank, the range will depend on the number of times Shintenshin has been retrained, and a constant hand seal during the dive. Discovering information requires the number of posts equivalent to the mission rank of the enemy. (Genin = C, Chuunin = B, Jounin = A etc.) Freeing ally from genjutsu takes the number of posts equivalent to a mission of the same rank. If jutsu is broken, the user must restart the technique from the beginning. Spirit of control travels at the speed of a kunai in a straight line. Control can only be broken by opponent's with greater chakra capacities (bijuu, samehada, or by simply having more jutsu).
Description: When cast, this technique will allow the user to dive into the mind of the victim. Different from the Shintenshin, the user is not influencing the body of the enemy. However, when this jutsu is cast, the victim will lose consciousness for as long as the jutsu is in effect. This jutsu has a number of benefits, being capable of discovering the secrets of both an enemy, freeing an ally from a genjutsu etc. When delving into a victim's mind, the scenario to discover the secrets is up to the victim.

Type: Supplementary / Secret Ninjutsu

Special: Range of jutsu is dependent on the number of times the Shintenshin no Jutsu has been retrained. When first learned, Torikabuto is capable of planting a seal onto one item. This number will be increased each time retrained. Control can only be broken by opponent's with greater chakra capacities (bijuu, samehada, or by simply having more jutsu). When learned at C rank, the user's body will become defenseless when the seal is placed. At B rank, the user's soul will not transfer until the item has been hit.
Description: This technique allows the user to transfer their soul into an item via a small kanji seal. When placing this seal onto an item, it will simply take an enemy to attack/deflect/block the item to initiate a Shintenshin.

1. To be blunt, dumb. Big oversight is that while in Shintenshin you push the mind aside and control the body. The conscious mind is in almost no way in control of behind-the-scenes physical processes ie the ability to hear, the ability to taste, the ability to feel. Unless medicated, the processes happen no matter what. Secondly, if you control the person, and force the person's body to not be able to see what happens to you, who for all intents and purposes is the dominant entity of the body? You can't see as well.

2. Poorly written, and wordy. The technique is inescapable once it actually goes into effect from how it's written. If you want this to work you're going to need to make it have the same drawbacks as the original shintenshin, aka if they are stronger due to bijuu, etc, or have more jutsu. You lose.

Otherwise, if you want to go a similar yet radially different route you can have the consciousness you tend to invade be able to battle you mentally no matter what. If you win, you get information, if they win, you get nothing and take some obvious psuedo-damage (headache, nausea, something like that).

As an addendum I want to you to understand that the above route is probably the worst one, due to the simple arcane understanding of the mind. Invading it in that way puts you on their territory, where for lack of a better phrase, they will kick your ass.

3. What? Items don't have souls. Can't transfer soul to an inanimate object or use it as some sort of gateway catalyst.

Technique 1 - Perhaps all of these techniques were written poorly. It appears that you're missing the logistics of this technique. Instead of managing the physical traits of the body in which the Yamanaka has invaded, it is instead limiting the mental capabilities of the backseat mind. Considering that a Yamanaka has the power to push aside, and essentially hold hostage, an enemy mind, it would only make sense that they have a say in what they are capable of while the Yamanaka controls the body. If they are incapable of controlling their body, then why would they be able to see, which is essentially an act of control?

Technique 2 - I understand what you're saying with this technique, and as mentioned before, I can indeed re-word these techniques. However I feel that your argument is suggesting that it's overpowered. I disagree. Prison techniques, such as Suirou, or Dorou Doumu seem inescapable, as you have described the technique. Of course, we know that this is not the case. There is at least one obvious flaw that these jutsu hold: the user is vulnerable. Much like the aforementioned techniques, the user is required to focus solely on this their jutsu, and disruption will end the technique. Additionally, this jutsu engages an additional RP scenario which will leave the user vulnerable for an extended period of time. Moreover, considering that this RP scenario leaves it possible for the user and victim to engage each other in a mental scenario, it also allows for mental defense. Of course, none of this is written in the jutsu's description - but that's what this method is for.

Technique 3 - Again, a logistical misunderstanding. This jutsu allows the user to seal their mind into an item via a fuuinjutsu seal. Essentially, sealing their own mind into the seal, not the item. Considering that there are a few jutsu that can seal things as adverse/important as the soul, it would not be inconceivable that there are jutsu that can seal the mind. This would be an instance of that 'mind sealing.' This is essentially a less OP version of the Shinten Kugutsu Juin no Jutsu.

1. You're too stuck in your own world to understand what I am saying. The mind is a separate construct from the body. You cannot will the nerves in your eyes to stop functioning, they will always function unless you do something yourself. You can will limbs to move, and your mouth to talk, but not something that the brain governs indirectly. That is how it is.

2. Still not buying it. I told you how it would need to be fixed. I don't like how it auto-happens, and you cannot avoid it save simply waiting it out. I also feel, from my BMing knowledge. "Engaging in a mental battle" from a T1 standpoint is very vague. I mean, get some other guys in here to accept it, that's cool. But when delving into such vague and otherwise unknown realm as the mind, on a mild powers site like this, is too far. At least when battling within it goes.

I told you too, that from a BM standpoint you would never get any information or win the mental battle. Invading someone else's mind as to fight them from my experience with PC is nearly impossible. You will never win purely on the premise that you are in THEIR mind. They can do anything, etc.

3. In naruto the soul is an incorporeal construct, seemingly ethereal. Sealing a soul and sealing a mind from even a PC standpoint are entirely different. Sealing the mind, makes no sense, at least when it comes to sealing the mind INTO a seal. Sealing a mind unto itself, within it self, seems like a more possible sentiment.

Second one - Before I delve into anything you're gonna need to Elaborate ALOT on what Mental combat is and the parameters it allows.

Third one - A seal that allows you to seal an opponents soul into an object based on them attacking said seal? No, 1. it's OP, 2. A Seal is sucking out someones Soul. If you want to make a tech to allow YOU to put your soul into an object I'd be down for it, but not this technique

Technique 1 - I share your sentiment. For the second time: this technique has nothing to do with the body. This technique limits the ability for the victim to see, because they do not have control of their own body. You are essentially proving my point. With the Yamanaka as the primary mind in control of the body, the secondary mind, being that of the victim, has no control. This technique limits the control further by ceasing what it is that they can do as the secondary mind. Currently, a victim with the Shintenshin can see everything that the Yamanaka does with his/her body. This technique simply stops that. It's as simple as that.

Technique 2 - 'Waiting it out' will kill your character with both of the aforementioned prison techniques. I hate to break it to you, but the mind is the primary focus of the Yamanaka. If you feel that it is incapable of battle scenarios, then I suggest that you propose it's dismantling from the site. If the Yamanaka is capable of overriding the mind of their opponent, then what makes you think that they will constantly lose when actually doing what it is that they specialize in? Characters, unless given mental training, have no idea how to utilize their chakra to counteract the mental diving that the Yamanaka perform. That means that if the Yamanaka performs any of their clan jutsu, they are going to have an advantage. Honestly, you think extracting information with a six post minimum is unrealistic, but managing complete control over someone else's body is? Either way, modified to fit suggestions.

Now travels at speed of kunai thrown & victims with more jutsu are capable of overpowering the technique.

Technique 3 - Your argument is essentially suggesting that because the soul is ethereal, the mind is corporeal, and that's why this won't be accepted. In many instances, the soul and mind are synonymous. However, I will show you that for this jutsu, which is very basic, that is not the case. The consciousness of a number of characters have been sealed into things throughout the entire series. I understand you're argument, but I feel that you're holding a biased towards the capabilities of the Yamanaka, let alone the Naruto universe. In the world of Naruto, everything is seal-able.
Bijuu - They are living, breathing entities, whose not only souls, but bodies have been sealed into humans via fuuinjutsu. However, many of these creatures have been sealed into inanimate objects for later use, consciousness and all.
CS - If you recall from the series, Orochimaru sealed himself into the fuuinjutsu placed on the neck of Uchiha Sasuke. He did not entrust is soul into the seal, nor did he entrust his body into the seal. After a certain action occurred, his consciousness would reveal itself, and recreate his body using Sasuke's chakra.
Naruto's Parents - If you recall, both of their consciousnesses were recalled after a certain period in Naruto's life. Their souls were both sealed away forever, however, their consciousness lived on through - you guessed it, a fuuinjutsu.

First Tech - Using your logic of "He's not in control of his body, now my soul is so it can turn off inherent actions" You're also saying you can stop his heart from beating, liver from filtering and stomach from digesting. Again 2.2 Denied

Second Tech - Again, before this will be approved at all you're gonna need to expound Heavily on what constitutes a Mental Battle

Third Tech - I really don't want to get into why a Shang Tsung seal isn't workable but to put it simply you're extracting someones soul via them hitting a seal at C-B. On top of that how does the soul get out once trapped?

Technique 1 - Lmao. For the THIRD TIME: This technique has nothing to do with the body. It prevents the secondary (victim) mind from seeing what the primary does, because they don't have control over their body. Just like someone who's hit by Shintenshin can't piss if they want, they won't be able to see if they want. You know what? Fuck it. I can't believe you all don't understand what I'm saying.

Technique 2 - Mental battle was eliminated from the description. All that is going to happen with this technique is: Yamanaka goes into the mind of the enemy, and then tries to extract information hidden in their consciousness. Think Inception. However, for a cannon example:

Technique 3 - This simply places a trap on an item. If the enemy attacks the item, then Shintenshin is auto-cast. That's it.

First jutsu: I think you're both misunderstanding this. It has nothing to do with the body at all. While Shitenshin is active, the user takes over the target's body. While this is occurring, the target's mind remains conscious and can see what they are doing through their own body, they just can't control it. This technique simply limits the the backseat mind's senses, so that, if their sight is taken, the user will take over their body, do whatever they want, and the original mind won't see what's going on until they exit the body. Stopping the heart is impossible, this is senses only--and besides, it would kill the user, since they're inhabiting the body at the time.

Second: I think retrieving information is fine. The Yamanaka are a clan that utilize jutsu to control and affect the mind--since this is a fairly high ranking jutsu, I think extracting information isn't too far out there. I agree that it should be difficult for the Yamanaka to win a 'mental battle,' but being "masters of the mind," not impossible. I'll agree, the parameters of a mental battle should be explained more thoroughly, and the Yamanaka should be able to be thwarted by victim's with less or equal chakra/jutsu. It should just be a lot harder for them.

Third: I think this needs a rewording. It says the user transfers their soul into an item, but an opponent can break the seal with higher chakra? Is that if you transfer your soul into their item?

I don't think its an impossible technique. It's true that consciousnesses have been stored using fuuinjutsu in the manga. I just think it needs some more description.

Can you edit the third technique to make it more clearly a trap type fuuinjutsu? Secondly, why is the first technique a passive? It should be supplementary, and take chakra to activate and eliminate one sense.

Second edit: Since you eliminated the mental battle, well, I don't think it's impossible. Just like Shintenshin, if the target has enough willpower, they could overpower you and kick you out . . . which is entirely honor based. But I think you should add that in.

First Tech - Yes it does have to do with the body because you're shutting off a bodies senses. You are rendering their sense of sight null. This has to occur in some manner. Like Coma said this happens by negating an inherent action. It's like if I take over someones body, I can do in their body what I can do in my own. Can I turn off my own ability to see? No, then how can I turn off the sight in another persons body. I used the heart as an example because that's what you're doing, I can't stop my own heart from beating, therefore if I'm in another persons body I can't stop their heart from beating.

I get what your saying by stating they're a backseat mind and you're stopping that backseat mind from seeing. That backseat mind see's because it's still connected to the eyes it just has no power over them. It doesn't have it's own window to the outside world via chakra that it can see from. Therefore if you want it too not see you have to turn off the eyes ability to see.

Second Tech - If the whole mental battle thing is taken out I'm fine with this tech. 1.2

Third Tech - Yes I understand what it's doing. They hit it and Shintenshin puts their body in an object. How long does it last though? What's the Drawbacks? You're putting a persons soul into an object via a seal rendering their body useless, that's pretty heavy shit and needs some pretty heavy drawbacks.

1. I understand. I am explaining how it would have to work, and why this doesn't work. The mind has nothing to do with seeing anything. The host mind is still connected to it's senses. Two. Separate. Processes. It's already been denied.

If you really want to argue about it more, I have no problem writing a more formal and less rushed argument about it elsewhere.

2. The picture says nothing. It's probably more vague than what you explained here. If you're saying the walls that the person is walking through on the middle-left panel represent some sort of defense, again, doesn't look so. Just looks like someone waltzing through someone else mind. Like I explained, the nuisances of the mechanics of how we would allow the battle to be fair just add unneeded hardship.

As long as you make it fair, somehow, I don't really mind the jutsu.

3. Don't care about this one anymore really. President was stated, and I guess it works by that standard. Just needs a lot more explaining. How can you store your mind in a seal and have it activate later if you yourself can't do it? I don't think the notion of it being released like a trap makes it at all fair, or balanced either. Must be another tertiary means that isn't something of a proximity mind bomb.
