The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
Strike. Defend. Strike again. The general use of Kaiten is to break up the combat if not to defend against an attack, to push away what harms to give breathing space and allow for a counter attack.
A deep sigh followed by a gradual release of chakra as she again spun rapidly. She amplified it's outward force, allowing it to push away all around it, like a thousand hands forcing away a tumbling giant, protecting oneself from the crushing mass of flesh.
A purely defensive technique, the Hyuuga's ultimate defence and Mio's main defensive method. In fact... it was her only defensive method. It suddenly clicked in her mind... the Hyuuga were mostly offensive in nature, though they claimed to be defensive. It was contradictory on an ironic scale.
Her hands dragged through the spinning chakra, clutching at imaginary objects that had been stopped with the torrent, her slender and graceful coordination beginning to show through as she stopped directly facing the way she had been before. Which meant her footwork was getting much, much better, though it could still stand for some improvement, as could everything else in the world.
The sound had excited her, letting her know that she was making progress. She continued training with a smile on her face now, her spirits lifted by the amount of progress. Yet as she looked down on the sweat that was falling off of her body, she quickly realized that her kimono was sticking to her. Sliding her arms out of the wide sleeves and out of the front opening, she revealed a light blue tank top which had been worn underneath.
She dropping low to the ground this time, an experiment. To see if concentrating the chakra a smaller area would be a step forward, at least for now, like training wheels. It didn't seem to help much, but it was a good start. To play around and experiment with a technique was a good way to learn it on higher levels.
Could the chakra used in the Kaiten be applied to other, more domestic and offensive styles of the Hyuuga? It seemed likely but it'd be best to try something like that when she had gained a better understanding of the technique. Practical application was not something to be taken lightly, as she had seen when her older sister had tried to apply the Sanjuuniishou to Basic Goken Taijutsu. The combination had torn several holes in her tendons and her ligaments had snapped, meaning that she had to spend the better part of a year in hospital.
The thought of her older sister made her want to try harder than she could physically accomplish. A foolish thought, yes, but she wished to be on the same par her sister had been when she... passed on.
The whirring sound grew louder and the dome of chakra spun faster than ever before. With every attempt, she grew more and more powerful. And she now knew the technique well. It had become second nature in only a couple of tries.
Flexibility. Stamina. Fluidity like water. All of which the Kaiten taught. A deep breath followed by one more attempt at the spinning technique, the solidified chakra forming a wall with which to block the incoming strikes. Yet the timing of her movements was off. In combat, no movement could be spared. She would have to focus, allow herself to stop when needed. To carry the technique fully to it's longest note was like singing on the highest note possible for as long as possible. There was no point to it, variation was the key. The ability to change, to be one with the technique, not using the technique, as if it were an extension of your own being.
She took a leap forward, bending low to the ground, before spinning faster than before, the released chakra firing out at a rapid pace, forming the protective swirl of energy. She was entirely fixated upon her goal and her progress showed no signs of slowing.
Extending her arms out this time, in order to balance herself and allow for retrieval of weapons caught within the globe. And then she realized, Kaiten could allow her to throw such weapons also. A valuable technique indeed then. This time her spin made a soft whirring sound, signalling that it was now beginning to take form.
To be able to defend against something like a shuriken is laughable in the face of the enemy. She needed to be able to defend against other things, like Ninjutsu. She needed to keep focused, force out more chakra to allow it to defend against larger objects, a greater outward force.
She remembered the demonstration she had received of the technique by her father several years ago. And remembered it extending much further and having a much more deep colour, unlike her one, which was pale in colour, and extended only five meters.
She sighed again, slowly pushing chakra from her tenketsu and then spinning rapidly, this time closing her eyes to focus. She then intensified the chakra output, forming it into a dome shape around her, instead of letting it go outward on it's own. The modifications seemed to work well, as the ground below her was damaged below her, the grass and dirt being forced aside as the chakra tore through it.
Again, not bad. But of course, improvements needed to be made. She needed to solidify the chakra a little more to make it able to defend against other techniques.

Laying her bag on the floor, the raven-haired girl had taken a decision that may slow her progress, but would ultimately ensure her survival. Well... help her survive anyway. It would certainly come in useful in any case.
She took her position in the small clearing, the trees around her acting like walls, keeping her enclosed. It was like a temporary home....
No, don't think about that, keep focused. It's time to train...
The veins that had become so familiar, so... easy to manipulate. And she didn't know why it had become so. It's not like she was in combat every single day, so why had she become so familiar with this. Maybe it was just intuition, being a Hyuuga and all. She could feel the chakra coursing through her eyes, her vision extended and her mind able to process the different chakra signatures around her... not that there was any.
She took a deep breath, her stance shifting to defensive, her frontward arm extended outward, as if prepared to block some imaginary strike coming from the front. In her imagination, she could see a shuriken moving quickly through the air towards her, pushing aside all in it's way.
And upon instinct, she moved...
She spun, at extremely high speeds, forcing chakra from her tenketsu as she rotated, pushing it outward as far as she could. It was like a solid wall of chakra, pushing back the imaginary shuriken, forcing it to spin and hit the tree, producing no sound.
Only hours before, she had left Konoha. A small break had taken place within the trees, the raven-haired girl with the lavender eyes sitting on the large branch of one of the many trees around the area.
It was time to continue again...
She stood, lifting herself from the solid branch, focusing chakra to her feet and jumping from the branch, a small tapping sound heard by the various species of flying creature as she moved through the trees. Several more, the birds chirping keeping her focused on the task at hand.
She had decided to move North-east from Konoha's Gates. She had no idea what was this way but hopefully she'd run into a place where she could settle without interruption. She couldn't go on panicking, she needed to calm down and let her nerves simmer for a while. But she just kept on going. Was she not even listening to herself?
She continued moving through the trees, shoving herself to the side of an incoming tree trunk, which diverted her path slightly. Though after several minutes she knew she was back on track, the wind was blowing in the direction she was going, which is how she knew which way to go.
She increased her speed slightly, hoping to spot some sort of changing landscape...
She stepped, the raven-haired girl, out of the large iron gates of the Leaf, an eerie presence washing over her as she took that fateful step. She no longer had anything in Konoha. There was nothing left for her here. Her sisters, dead. Her mother, dead. Her father, driven to insanity from the horrors he had faced during the war. Everything was so... bleak. As if everything she had ever loved had been ripped from her without mercy.
