A slightly lengthier period of time had passed since my last visit, which was appropriate given the nature of the mission, however it also showed that adopting the sleeping habits of the people I had been tailing without their daily intake of coffee proved to by a pretty bad combination when it came to fatigue.
Wondering into the Atrium, I quickly browsed the avaliable list of missions, picking out a select few to complete, there weren't all that many more to consider before the deadline for the Chunin Exams began, so I needed to get as many done as humanely possible. Picking out a couple of leaflets, I approached the attendant when he had a free moment, and passed my 'Mission Completion Report' to him.
"Greetings," I murmured. "Nice day so far?"
As I intoned the second part of the pleasantries, I handed over the selection of lower tier missions to him and one upper echelon assignment.

The moist breeze brushed itself across my body, dampening my skin, hair and attire by only the smallest incremental fraction as I stood within the airborne wake of the generous body of water that rushed downwards at a tremendous pace, the harsh mistress of gravity (her chains and whips) especially prominent as the fluid made it's rapid pilgrimage downwards.

Mentally shaking myself, I retrieved the intent of motion and instilled it within my southmost appendages, the concept of motion reawakened in my limbs, I continued onwards, my casual pace belied by the intent darting of my fell orbs, each scattering around the perceived word in a cascade of flickering attention.

Small signs of passage, hidden portals to the location I sought. All were part of the overall drive behind my seemingly maddened scourging of the environment.
Eventually coming upon one such marker, I turned upwards, feet slanting slightly to accommodate the new terrain. While the mountain range was as pleasant and as beautiful as the rest of it's political kinship, it contained more dangers then the other attractions within Kusagakure's borders.

It took me a while, but I soon found myself confronted with a most splendours housing facility, the residence of one of the greater heros of the past perhaps, one who had faced many a demon in his life time and had come out richly rewarded. Mentally tallying up some of the more remarkable architecture and masonry, I decided that those demons must have been worth a sizable portion.

Halting my gait next to a similarly motionless pair of feet, I idly studied the person who was likely to be a member of the team, or a messenger from the village.
Or maybe...the leader of the squad had specific 'tastes' and liked them a little young. 'Ick, blech.' Hopefully not.
Still, I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to introduce myself just yet, as I'd rather wait until the overseeing leader of the squad was present himself before going into introductions.
However, the Primach rang different in his cognitive processing, and the Farseer agreed that she was a fair maiden indeed, and getting to know her wouldn't hurt in the slightest. Well, maybe it would.
Rolling his eyes mentally, I instilled the role of a boy too timid to immediately introduce himself to a member of the opposite gender who he would be working with, and was more then just a little nervous about the arrangement. I didn't have to fake the nervous swallow, and the slight tremor in my voice was all too real.

A bridge. How..ironic? Appropriate? Whatever the word was, the fact that his quarry would be found beneath a bridge was slightly amusing as she was herself sitting on the crossing of life in a way. She had made a choice to go along with the daily activities of this group's scheduled. Or was it nightly? Nocturnal agenda? If the report was correct, apparently she was staying out late at night, coming home at a time when everyone else had learned to do the sensible thing and hit the sack.
So apparently the worthless chicka had a huge sleep debt chasing after her, with the fatigue sharks to boot. For Kaku, such an act was regarded as something of suicide, as he immensely enjoyed sleeping, being one of his more favourite acts. Shaking his head in puzzled bemusement, Kaku meandered around the bridge, his eyes taking note of a few key features that someone of his persuasion would be apt to do. Width of the bridge, general make, the usual really.

It was the sound of voices that tipped Kaku off to their arrival really. He was hunched next to a pole, his chakra seething around him like a living being, which was fairly close to the truth, as it was currently distorting his appearance to look like a hobo, camping like a proper hobo did on a bench, his eyes tucked away beneath a moth eaten woollen beanie, which sprouted tufts of blonde hair from it's various holes. His clothes were similarly worn and frayed at the edges, and from the casual nature of how the children acted, this was either a common sight or they were simply too drunk to care.
Judging by the swaying nature of how they were walking and the loud boisterous catcalls to the other people inhabiting the bridge (himself included) they did appear to all be thoroughly intoxicated, the smell certainly seemed to indicate something of that nature had been on their bodies.
Sighing to himself, Kaku allowed the group of teens to pass him by before rising up from his self imposed horizontal postion and trailed after then, his eyes narrowed in annoyance, as he stepped off the bridge he let the illusionary visage fall away and mingled in with a group of people who seemed to be going in roughly the same direction as his own crowd, judging by their condition and state of dress that was.

And so it was that Kaku found one the more explicit nightclubs within Kusa.

While watching other people have never been a major hobby per say, it was still something Kaku had done every so often, namely because of his rather large lack of confidence when it came to other people.
When you lacked the required forward thinking and acting attitude to actually attain attention in the public eye and hence strength some select few bonds, you tended to observe other people. Maybe because you were jealous of their own aptitude with others, maybe because seeing how other people interacted around each other interested you.
While not the most personalised activity around, one's reasons for doing it were there own. And unfortunately for Kaku, his own had been the more jealous then curious sort. Still, it should serve him quite nicely when it came to this particular brand on mission, whereupon he had been assigned to record the activities of a couples offspring.
A brother and sister apparently. To make things even more irritating was that there was a sever likelihood of the two being in different social circles, as was oft the habit with estranged siblings, attempting to distance each other by changing their very personalities.
Shrugging to himself, Kaku meandered down the road he was currently set on, a pair of orbs that belonged to his own person scanned the 'professional' analysis of their behaviour and potential location.
According to this, the sister didn't come home 'til very early in the morning, apparently acting increasingly ashamed of her situation according to the report, and she was avoiding her family as much as possible. In direct contrast to this was her brother, who seemed to be living life as normally as could be expected. He went to school, ducked out a couple of hours early and hung around with whatever crowd he had associated himself with before coming come in time for dinner and a row with his mother and father. Which did nothing to discourage the child from continuing his habits; the review of his profile mentioning that there was a sever chance that he was doing it out for attention instead of any other purpose.
There was no indication he was in any financial trouble, or taking an overdose of drugs. It seemed that the main issue was the potential for the usual list of pet peeves of the parents. From the Village's Review however, it said that the worst offensces that the gang was suspected of was public defamation. Aside from that, it was just another group of kids wandering around after dark.

So the sister was the one to look out for, apparently she was showing signs of having been taking drugs, there was suspected thievery from her family to pay off something or other. It appeared that the sister was the elder of the two, and that the actions regarding her brother were more of a overreaction due to his sister's habits.
Still, if he was to dissolve the affiliation, Kaku couldn't imagine it being a activity that would be allowed to be done peacefully in the slightest. In fact, a large amount of resistance to the concept was expected on his part, and he had no warrant to deal too much damage to the miscreants of the streets. Search and retrieval. It was recon with pick-up slapped onto the rear. Truthfully, he didn't have to do anything, but if Kaku could make the eventual solution easier rather then harder, and doing so wouldn't require him to go overly out of his way, that he saw no reason not to do so.
But away with such thoughts, he had reached the region where the Sister's gang was suspected to spend the majority of their available time.

So it turned out that they were going to stake out one of the biggest competitors for the Steal Seal, or whatever it was called. Kaku felt intoxicated just from breathing inside that pungent room, and he most certainly had no taste at all that for particular substance.
The bar they would be dealing with was called The Circled Tavern, and it was indeed a pure circle, and was supposed to be a play on the pun of 'circling the wagons' as the owners had evidently come from a culture where that was a popular reference, and had attempted to make it into a catch line here in Kusa.
It seemed to have worked, and as Kaku stood beneath the gently swaying wooden sign, emblazoned with a circle of mugs and a jug of some liquor. Ah well, the stuff sold didn't it?
Grunting to himself Kuku lazily put his hands together in nervous preparation, and his formed shifted abruptly from child to adult. His new visage and attire were typical of the average working adult, dirty blonde hair, a wide brim hat to keep the sun at bay. Clothes made of cotton, a green shirt and white pants with a buckle. He'd left his shoes the same was normal, white sneakers with a yellow star on the side. Call him sentimental but he rather liked them.

'Is that the time?' Kaku mentally rasped as he glared at the offending hands of the resident clock. 'no wonder I feel like I'm about to fall over.' Kaku lazily glanced around, wondering when the closing hours were.
However it appeared fate wanted to have a premature hand in the shutting down of the nightly festivities as a man cocked back his first and let fly straight into the jaw of another man.
From what he could tell from here, the two had been arguing over the chortling blonde sitting in a chair, evidently flattered by the wine in her system and the attention of the two men. Mentally groaning, Kaku lazily flung a Kunai out the open door where it embedded itself into the sign.
There, now the police waiting outside had their signal. Until then, Kaku needed to attempt to shut down these two before they dealt any damage to the other patrons in the room.

Dashing forwards, Kaku wrapped his leg around the neck of the original offender, his disguise falling away. As he used his momentum to launch the original offender, nicknamed 'Hen' if you accounted for his rather large amount of body hair.
In any case, he was off him, and my legs were around his neck in a sort of choke-hold, and as his hands arose with the intention of removing my appendages from his person, I grasped them with my own.
However he was a fully grown man, and despite my training he was naturally inclined to win, the only saving grace in my favour being his drunken state and his inability to fully muster his strength.
However it looked like it also afforded him some benefits of stupidity, as the fellow promptly rose to a vertical stance and slammed Kaku into a wall.
Groaning slightly, my only response to to tighten the grasp I already had. It looked like lack of oxygen was finally getting to him as he tumbled downwards, face underlined with blues as he wheezed out gasps of air.
But still I maintained it until he was on the edge of consciousness. Only then did I relinquish the potentially lethal grip to remove myself from his body.
The rest of the tavern had been emptied of patrons, and my only company was the stoic presnce of the blue and white uniformed police, each of whom had a certain expression of distaste for my methods.
I mentally cast aside their concern for the man, I knew what I had done, and the job had been completed in any case.
I had sent a signal to anyone who decided it would be a good idea to have a fight in a bar. Some small kid was going to stranglehold you while the police did nothing.
While I couldn't call it a roaring success, it most certainly went according to plan.

Kaku took a moment to orientate himself, the scrap of paper in his fingers tugging at the wind (or was it visa versa) in it's desperate attempts to escape his hold. What he was expected to do now was anyone's guess. He'd successfully located the Metal Seal as far as he could tell, but there didn't appear to be any signs showing it's location. Just a couple of footprints etched in stone with the greying colour of blood as the bacteria began their day's work. There was also a small mound of something a few steps away from the doorway that smelled pretty damn ripe, so the Genin naturally assumed that it was the regurgitated meal of one of the patron's who had gotten drunk last night. The footprint slap bang in the middle of it seemed like it had happened before the fight, which could prove to be an important detail if anyone there could remember the chronological sequence of events.
Mounting the stairs, Kaku entered in the tucked away prolific club that was the heart and soul of Kusagakure's night life.

'Slaneesh is strong here, the scent of pleasure lingers.' A creasing of the brows from the Farseer was directed towards the shady figure at the rear of Kaku's landscape, disapproving of the implied message.
The metallic and organic being calmly leveled a single finger at the female, his tone accusing as he rebuttled her under the grounds that she was similarly cursed, and that her very culture and degenerated due to the overriding influence of meaningless arts and processions.
Apparently Kaku was feeling self-conflicted today, if nothing else, the mental avatars of himself were useful indicators of his personal status, something he wasn't always terribly good at monitoring.
But as he reawakened his eyes from their slumber within their lids, he cast about his now expanded irises to observe the room, only light to the bare minimum.
'So that the men have an excuse when their hands wonder,' quipped the Prince, his bleached teeth flashing in flaunted amusement at the Farseer's fluster. It was strange that one part of himself wanted to protect a innocence he had given up when he had donned the headband of the village, soon after coming to verbal blows with the Kage of the Village. If anything that particular memory had been buried under the events of the Chunin Exams.
But introspection was a activity only held when time provided such a privilege, and it seemed that the clock was tolling for it's attention with the heavy thud of full grown men were registered as it's ticks and tocks.

No rest for the wicked wasn't it?
