“Yes, child.” The centermost Elder spoke again. “A test. I know of the quest upon which you have embarked and I would mst eager to assist you should you prove to me that you have the potential. … But have the potential you must. Until I have firmly decided that you possess it, your test will have to wait. … If you will excuse us now…”, the elder stood suddenly and began to steop down from her high place… slowly walking down the stairs that lead toward the cold, stone, floor. “…we have business to which we must attend.”
…And that was literally that. All of the Elder’s appeared to rise at once to follow the centermost Elder out of the chamber in silence. She could only simply stand there and watched as they all made their way toward the doorway at the back of the chamber and toward the natural light of day. She had much to think about, she decided, if she was going to continue on the path she was currently on. …
