“Yes, child.” The centermost Elder spoke again. “A test. I know of the quest upon which you have embarked and I would mst eager to assist you should you prove to me that you have the potential. … But have the potential you must. Until I have firmly decided that you possess it, your test will have to wait. … If you will excuse us now…”, the elder stood suddenly and began to steop down from her high place… slowly walking down the stairs that lead toward the cold, stone, floor. “…we have business to which we must attend.”

…And that was literally that. All of the Elder’s appeared to rise at once to follow the centermost Elder out of the chamber in silence. She could only simply stand there and watched as they all made their way toward the doorway at the back of the chamber and toward the natural light of day. I was talking about my partner in the yonbi event. at first I didn't think it was a big deal but since we can't see the databank stuff I guess our thread is gonna be on hold until this gets sorted out lol

I’m lucky to even have a home there.” She had still yet to get over what Katie had said to her that after her duel with her. How she asked her how many people she had deceived…
…tearing off through the atmosphere suddenly, moving much faster than before as she saw the civilization she had been searching for in the distance, she forced those old memories out of her mind and prepared herself for meeting with the Elders again momentarily.

“So, you have finally defeated the Iron beast. You have our thanks.”
Once more, the shinobi found herself standing in that shadowy old room before a pink skinned old shinobi seated beneath the flame of a brightly burning torch. The other Elders murmured amongst themselves, momentarily, after she spoke… speaking words in a language that was entirely foreign to her ears.

Some of them appeared quite taken to conversing amongst themselves… so much so that almost no one except the centermost shinobi was looking at her anymore. “You have done well. It is only your second day, yet you have already passed two of our tests. … Your ‘faith’ is wise indeed. I see she has indeed sent us her very best students.”
This last bit caught her attention, forcing her to turn her pupils from the floor toward the centermost elder. “…You have spoken to Kathy?”

“Not directly, no. I do not know this ‘person’ of yours personally but we have channels with which we can speak to others in our position throughout the world.” she laughed, softly. “Do not let it confound you child.

Four hours of running it took her to get back to the Iron village from which she had earlier came. There was next to no way she’d be able to drag that thing’s carcass back to show it to the Elders so she’d have to run all of the way back to the Elders, give them the run down on killing that thing, and then guard the guard all the way out into the desert in order to prove that she’d made the kill.

What a fun week this was turning out to be… first evil swordsmith specters from hell and now gargantuan monsters made almost entirely from dense metal who wanted to bite her face off. When she got back to Konoha, she was going to have some stories to tell of that she was fairly certain.

Thinking of all of this took her back for a brief few moments to the country she’d left behind. As much as she hated to admit it, being all of the way out here on this strange shinobi country made her kind of miss ‘home’. Hell, she actually even kind of missed Raiku’s place. If only because it was so much fun to smack her around when she inevitably tried to grope her.

It wasn’t like she actually enjoyed her sexual harassment but, it was oftly strange not having to deal with it anymore after literally months of doing so. It had almost become a daily ritual, smacking that old woman across the island or threatening to send her to the bathroom for a week if she crossed her. She wouldn’t ever really admit it, but she was probably the closest thing she had to real family back at ‘home’.

“How lame.” She sighed into the wind momentarily as she ran along.

Realizing it had missed shortly afterward, the mammoth iron monstrosity charged again with its maw wide open at her. No matter how many times it missed, it appeared it would not be content until it had either taken her down or gone down itself.
Moving backwards away from it again momentarily, the Hikaru channeled her energy into her right hand again. She’d managed to try almost everything she knew up until now, and nothing had managed to puncture its super dense, metallic, body. But there was still one option left, and it was an option that just might get her killed…

Reversing her direction suddenly, after having used those few moments of distance to build up her energy, she ran toward the open maw of the creature and extended a hand toward it… preparing to fire a chidori right into its mouth and down its gullet. “Chidori!” she shouted, as an enormous blue lightning attack burst from from her right hand and ran into the pausing maw of the creature.

The moment the blast entered its mouth, the creature slammed its jaws shut on it and suddenly the lightning attack became a powerful explosion inside the monster’s skull that sent body fluid and other disgusting things out from its eye sockets and mouth. The shinobi’s hulking frame collapsed almost the moment the blast went off… likely having died instantaneously from brain damage.

And then it all went quiet. Soon, the shinobi found herself standing alone with a gargantuan beast of iron’s dead carcass lying on the ground beside her. Staring at the thing, she felt absolutely no pity… only annoyance. “…Ugh… it vomited its innards all over my clothes. This was the only pair of clothes I had! What the hell am I supposed to where now, my underwear??”

Before attempting to right itself once more. Not content to allow the creature to rise again, the shinobi ran in toward it and unleashed another volley of fire balls at its hide. This time, the force of the blasts was sufficient to cause it to collapse again and pitch over onto its backside.

Rolling, slowly, onto its back side… the Iron Beast finally simply lie there for a good moment or so almost completely unmoving. It was time enough for her to swoop in again and try to plant a solid punch on its underbelly… an action she regretted immediately as she realized for the first time just how dense this creature’s hide really was.

“OW!” She cried out, almost the moment her gloved knuckles made a dull THUNKing sound against the hardened hide of the Iron horror. Clutching her hand, she flexed her fingers whilst standing on top of the beast’s hide in attempt to make the pain subside. Realizing, finally, that she knocked it down…

the dull create gave another tremendous roar and began to try and throw its weight toward her right side… threatening to toss her off toward the desert ground. In the space of those few moments were the creature fought to right itself again, she took the time to get the hell away from it again. That little diversion was far less effectively than she had imagined it would be.

Swinging its massive tail in her direction the moment it got to its feet again, the beast tried to smack her to the ground in vengeance. Though she managed to move out of the way of the wide swinging appendage, the gust it generated as it ripped through the air threatened to tear the jacket right off from her body.

Though she was achieving at frustrating the damn thing, she didn’t think she had managed to do anything else at this point. She couldn’t even seem to hurt the thing because it was like attempting to drill a hole through a mountain with a stick. Even though she couldn’t see the damn thing for the moment, because she was attempting to run away from it, she knew it was running after her and that she’d either have to pick up the pace soon or turn around and fight it. Because, from the sound of its thunderous footsteps, it was getting closer… and closer… AND CLOSER...

Suddenly, though, she had an idea. Whipping around midstep, she channeled her chakra into her hands and began to produce ‘strands’ of chakra which she weaved together with swift and intricate motions of her hands. She weaved her chakra into an intricate web of strands that looked like an lightning attack and ran toward the still charging mammoth once more. Flinging the lightning attack at its feet,

she attempted to trip it up and bring it tumbling toward the ground. It was a new technique she had learned during her stay with the Elders:. It was a technique which, on a normal sized opponent could be used to seize them and render them helpless. But with an opponent so large… the absolute best she could hope for was to trip it up or at least cause it stumble.

…And stumble it did. With yet another Ferocious roar the creature tumbled sideways, tumbled sideways and skidding across the dusty plain with a thunderous sound. The beast’s mass was so great that it literally left an impact crater when it fell. After tumbling sideways with its underbelly exposed, the creature let out a pained groan…

Rolling to her feet again almost immediately, and refusing to stay down, she immediately took off into the air with a bursting of chakra – hoping to get some safe distance between herself and the mammoth beast so that she could have a moment or two of reprieve and think. The moment she took to the air, the creature roared mightily and began to circle the area where it once stood. The beast held its head high, gazing skyward in its frustration.

For what reason it had suddenly decided to attack, perhaps only it would ever know, but staring down at the thing she could help but think it territorial. That would debrief, perhaps, how it could have gotten so large. The thing was all by itself as large as a village block or two back home. It stood to a height most buildings didn’t even reach. For something to be so massive, it had to have hoarded a lot of resources for itself. Perhaps she was just another competitor for the food source.

Regardless of the reasons, she charged back down toward it again within moments… swooping in to pepper its backside with chakra blasts almost the moment it began to lose interest in her. The explosive chakra bombardment did little to even dent the great beast’s hide, but it certainly managed to get its rapt attention once more. The moment the dust from the bombardment had settled, she had already managed to run around the diameter of the beast’s girth and get herself of harm’s way again. Frustrated, the creature slammed its enormous tail against the ground and threw dust and dirt skyward in a cloud. It then immediately proceeded to futilely try and chase her despite her having an enormous speed advantage.

The moment she looked down, even so, whatever had skirted her leg was gone. … Then, another rumbling noise… and this time it appeared to be closer than before. … Slowly, the sound of something large and heavy striking the cave walls and an accompaniment of heavy foot steps in the soil came softly from void in the distance. … And another rumble came, this time even closer. She was now 100% certain whatever was making those sounds was moving toward her….

A few moments later, the female shinobi came screaming out through the cave wall into the desert and went skipping across the sand. Shortly after her, a massive quadruped creature coated from head to toe in an iron encasement with pupils as black as a void plowed through the wall she burst forth from with a Ferocious roar.

As the shinobi picked herself up from the ground, slowly, the gargantuan beast seemingly made of metal lumbered forward and lowered it enormous head toward the ground to try and bite her. Rows and rows of jagged, razor sharp, metallic ‘teeth’ missed tearing at her jacket by a hair as she lept from the ground and ran backward in an attempt to gain some distance from the thing. But as she began to get away, the monster demonstrated its furiousness by unleashing a telekinetic blast that sent her hurtling backwards through the air again beyond her ability to control her own momentum.

Turning herself rightside up just before hitting the ground, the female shinobi clad in blue denims skid across the desert sand on booted feet. Even before she could completely stand, even so, the charging creature barreled toward her and unleashed yet another forceful telekinetic blast that sent her sprawling backwards on her back.

Arriving at the ‘cave’, in roughly half the time it took her to depart it, the shinobi touched down upon the soft soil promptly and peered inside. It was nothing but the darkest void inside, a blackness so deep and so dim it’d be impossible to see if one were to go too deep inside. The mouth of the cave itself could be seen, but back end of it was nowhere in sight. It was probably deeper than she even cared to walk

But she did, regardless. She immediately began to plod forward, guided by her curiousity, and turned her right hand palm side up. Channeling some chakra into it, she formed a glowing yellow sphere of lightning chakra she intended to use as a light. … She got no farther than a few feet into the cave, when she heard an inhuman growling sound from somewhere a good ways off into the distance. She didn’t know /what/ had made that sound, but whatever it was it sounded like it was massive.

A few minutes later and about a hundred paces into the cave and she began to realize it wasn’t getting anymore narrow. It did seem be leading down into the ground, even so, and whatever had made this cave had to have been pretty massive. … Fifty paces more and the cave just did not seem to have an end to it, though the way it twisted ad bent lent credence to fact that it wasn’t likely natural. This only served to affirm her belief that she had at least found a dwelling for this thing. … Then, from somewhere deep within the cave came another rumble. … Something soon scurried by her leg in the darkness of the cave, drawing her attention from the source of the sound to the source of the sensation.

And anything which would further her training was good enough to get her moving again.

Moving over that vast stretch of desert, the shinobi turned over and over in idle boredom whilst moving along… dipping and rising again into the air the whole way. The raging winds howling in her ears and sending her clothes and hair aflutter was for the longest time very nearly the only thing keeping her company besides her thoughts. As the desert slipped away beneath her, she watched the scene with idle pupils the color of ice and a nearly empty mind. In fact, the only thought that appeared to dominate at the present time was ‘When will I find this damn thing?’ It couldn’t be that hard to find something that was as wide as a small village and as high as mountain could it…?

… But, not for three hours did she find anything except desert flora and fauna. Little creatures scampering about amidst the desert plants in search of food and incalculable amount of sand appeared to be the only things in this damn deserted area. … Come to think of it, weren’t they supposed to feed on mineral deposits? Wouldn’t that mean they’d probably spend a lot of their time underground? … When that thought hit her, she realized she’d seen a instead of large opening in the side of a mountain that she took for a cave about an hour back. It was fairly close to the civilization she’d came from too…

She immediately whipped around and ran off in the opposite direction, hoping her latest intuition was right. If not she would disgrace her existence as a shinobi and would die a cold hard death.

"...And now, you cannot control it. So you want us to implode this thing before it implodes the whole civilization in search of food." She stuffed her hands in her pockets after having said that, seeming content with the idea. It couldn't be much harder than fighting a spectre, right?

"...in a manner of speaking, yes. It must have found some deposits we were not aware of. Regardless, these Iron Beasts are very bad when fully grown! They possess the strength to move mountains, hides dense and hardened enough to withstand lava flows, and worst of telekinetic prowess." "...telekinesis?" She asked, ignorant of the term. "That is... what, exactly?"

"The ability to manifest change in the physical country through sheer will chakra alone. They can set objects in motions with thought." she elaborated, stressing the dansensei Ginnyusness of this particular ability with a stressed tone of voice. "...So, will you do it?"
The shinobi shrugged her right shoulder and motioned with her hands in a gesture that appeared to suggest indifference. She then turned she back upon the Elder and began to walk off toward the temple entrance again. "I don't care, if it will get me through my training successfully I'll gladly eliminate this little problem for you. ... The guards outside should be able to take me, right?"

…And so, an hour later she found herself wandering the desert skies looking for the monstrous creature who plagued the little Iron civilization in this area. To be perfectly sure, she wasn’t too excited to be doing the Iron Guard’s work for an ambiguous reward. The Elders had yet to tell her what exactly it was they would give her for her efforts. But she did know that this ‘Iron Beast’ sounded like it would be a decent challenge.
