She put a hand back onto the scroll, glove reflector glinting slightly. She pushed on it a little. Scrolls came out flying all over the place; and chaos was within the moment. The silence of the library was broken; and the old lady from earlier shot her a teasing glance. A death glare reflected from Jai-Lin’s gray eyes. She blew a hair out of her face.
Jai sat up, as if the scrolls had knocked some sense into her. “Quit doubting yourself,” She whispered, closing her eyes. “Next time, you’ll be ready.” Jai relaxed, as if she had a new view. Slowly, she began to pile the scrolls back into order. She took her time, stacking them by number.
It turned out; Jai learned more than just that. She had knocked down the World history section; and couldn’t help but catch glimpses of the past. Maps of the world colored and scrambled to coordinating subjects; She had to admit. She missed schooling at the academy. Life after had become solely physical; training, training, training. Right then Jai-Lin thanked the world for the moment it had given her.
She stood up, and fixed at her braid that had been ruined. The sole of her sandal scratched against the ground; she had nothing to hide. Why would she walk unmarked in a library? Jai-Lin continued to do her duty.
Once she finished, she the librarian thanked her.
“Oh! No mam’ thank you!” She smiled, a glimmer of knowledge shining in her gray eyes. Even the smallest tasks can have the biggest meanings. Was Jai meant to take this mission? What told her to? She shied from the topic, and exited the Kumogagure library.
She silenced her steps down the way. It was good practice to try on tough terrain. Kumogure was a great training ground, with its thin air for lung strengthening and rough scaling mountains.
