I was faced with an appalling scene thereafter; in truth I'd wished I hadn't lifted the veil, but circling back was unfortunately out of the question. The deceased composed the meadow, primarily sickly dogs, yet there was also a coalition of armed mercenaries left to brush off my ranton as if they were mere shuriken. They were at the helm of the chains, and as a total of five advanced toward me with killing intent I plotted my next move. In a stroke of luck I recalled a particular technique ideal for situations such as the one I found myself in. Ten fingers weaved their spell - seven blades of wind were birthed from enticing lips, and in turn sped toward their individual targets. One per enemy, a non-lethal blow aimed for the stragglers right arm, and the last one for whoever was unlucky enough to be struck twice.

That all occurred in three seconds. Shinku Renpa was among the deadliest of my Fuuton - inevitably they'd see my prowess in that nature. Not to mention that their speed was no where near up to par; I figured I had it in the bag. If indeed they were cut down I'd make an alert trip in the direction of their fallen frames. Trembles continued to rock the terrain, but in spite of that I hoped to catch up to the lone man left alive by my fatal Ninjutsu. A brief questioning may have been on the horizon, though until then...

I'd retrieve one of their abandoned weapons and make it my own. It was a kodachi, in good shape, and I even managed to find the matching sheath. Well, assuming they were all dead anyways. If so the clean edge would be kept in a dominant right hand as my eyes ran across the sky. Where was the source? That was the biggest question; whatever was affecting the land to that degree had to be in plain sight. Right? Besides that I reminded myself that I wasn't invincible - I needed to keep tabs on my chakra if I was to survive. No doubt my ego was already starting to push it. It was time to lie low.

Description: The user takes a deep breath and exhales several large blades of wind at different angles, by rapidly moving their head in various directions. Each blade of wind is released in the one breath exhaled; moving at the speed of thrice a kunai. The blades of wind are five meters in total width and length, and are sharp enough to cut through limbs, boulders, or trees. Can cut right through jutsu of equal rank.

This was insane.

As anxious as I was, I'd try my hardest to not let it show on the surface. A prompt glimpse was given to each of the members of our party, namely the long haired, crimson eyed one that would be leading our high priority assignment. A Jounin, huh? An impressive feat - I figured he had to be a capable leader if Goldie had faith in him. Eiichiro, the man I'd met just ten days prior was already sending me off on a mission beside his most loyal shinobi. It hadn't yet dawned upon me that I was the lowest ranked of the group but it was clear as day that I had a long ways to go until I became a respected figure within Kumogakure.

On edge and drowning in anticipation I listened in on the Raikage's encouraging words. It was funny, of all people I'd had the chance to run into the Lightning Shadow that fateful day at the caravan. At any rate, I had read over the provided briefing scroll just the day before, as such I was well aware of what we were getting ourselves into. In a moment of revelation, I peeked down at the premier Kumo headband that was passed down to me - its metallic plate was fresh and without a scratch. My ties to Iwagakure were long gone, though it came as a bit awkward to call this new village my home. That was something I'd come to terms with soon enough, or so I hoped. With a bow of the head I donned the emblem, finishing the act by knotting the end around my dainty neck.

"Stay... alert..."

In the midst of my wandering I'd be met with obscure entities approaching from beyond the haze. Their forms remained fluctuating, but despite that they were assumed to be humanoid. It was my ears, rather than my eyes that were flooded with vivid sensory however. Alas, they tuned in to multiple sounds - namely hushed voices and a hint of rattling chains? Prisoners? That all occurred ahead of me; from above I listened in on things more odd. The rush of escaping steam accompanied by a deafening bellow transpired from somewhere outside of my field of vision. Soon after, another attack on the soil sent me staggering to my knees. What, was I under siege of some sort of giant? While stumbling to regain lost footing I'd overhear the only accent familiar above all others. A dog. It barked, then delivered an acute cry; made out of being mistreated most likely. I found having lowered visibility to be slightly annoying - a lone seal and brief closing of the eyelids would solve that problem though. An adept sensor I was, and through use of my 6th sense I'd hope to gain insight on what was going on before simply rushing in so carelessly. To conserve chakra, my scanning only covered as far as the immediate 20 meters around me. Once I knew what was awaiting me and whether it was a serious threat or not, I'd become an animal myself and run headlong into where the poor pooch was being handled.

Special: Each rank determines the range at which they can detect chakra, whether it comes from a person, animal or even an object. By closing their eyes and forming a simple seal, the world of chakra around the user becomes unveiled. Upon learing the s-ranked version, the user will no longer have to close their eyes nor form handseals to activate.

Description: Kagura Shingan is an advanced Sensory Ninjutsu technique used by all sensors, and serves as the root to the entire sensory tree. After performing the necessary handseal, the sensor closes their eyes and uses their innate ability to detect chakra in order to determine the location of their opponent by the faintest of chakra trails, as well as discerning the size of an approaching unseen force, and even their chakra capacity.
