Takumi stood at the edge of the tranquil lake taking in the beauty the scenery had to offer. It was hard to think of this scene as impending doom waiting to break and come cascading down upon the unsuspecting citizens of the town below the damn, but in truth that's exactly what it was. Of course a tragedy on that scale would make Kirigakure no Sato look foolish and lazy in how they dealt with their own problems. The Mizukage would not look kindly upon failure if later the damn did in fact break and crush the town so it would be prudent not to fuck this shit up.
The sun was high above in the sky as it was already mid day and this job would likely take a lot of time. It was best to get started sooner rather than later if Takumi wanted to be able to see what he was doing when got to the crack to repair it. Coating his feet in chakra he stepped out onto the water's surface immediately feeling a slight pull as the water flowed eagerly towards the damn. He walked with the current making better time than he had thought he would make on this trip.
He was making excellent time on the peaceful lake listening to the chirping of birds that sang out from the trees along the banks, when a large school of fish erupted ten meters in front of Takumi springing from the water to battle the current. Takumi took a few steps back but found himself in the same place as the current continued to pull him towards the damn stronger than before now. He had completely neglected how strong the current pulling him to his destination had become.
