[/justify]The boy looked exhausted from what he was just assigned to do. Good. Craftsmen were hard men and they did not give up when the tough times came. Rūgo inspected each of the rocks after Johann handed them to him. They looked to be appropriate enough. These would make a fine addition to his garden. Rūgo picked up the rocks one by one and moved them around his vegetable garden at the front of his workshop. They lined the edges of the bed.
"Now we can get started then. That was a simple test to see if you would give up before we got started on the real tests. As craftsmen though, we are supposed to view everything as if we are able to sculpt it into something more," he held the last rock in his hands and moved back into the workshop. He assumed that you would follow him, and also shut the door behind you as you came in. You were now permitted to enter the lair of Rūgo the Craftsman.
He paced over to a single workbench, slamming the rock down atop it. "We as craftsmen need to understand that every raw material is a raw of art. We, as the artists, can therefore mould these raw materials into whatever we so desire." He took out a chip and hammer, beginning to chip away at the rock. After a few minutes, he had designed a rock sculpture of the Tsuchikage Coco. He then showed this sculpture to you.
"From what was originally a dirty rock, I have now turned it into a work of art. This same principle applies to every single raw material there is out there," he stated whilst looking about his work shop. On a separate workbench two metres away, Rūgo pointed to a slab of metal. "That can be turned into whatever I desire. I am the craftsman, and that is my piece to mould." He was simply trying to put it that anything could be art.
"First you will watch me whilst I create something with that metal slab. However, before that... you need to get into something more appropriate." As for what you were wearing, Rūgo wasn't quite the fan. In the corner of the workshop hung a set of apparel. These included an apron, work boots, gloves and eye goggles. He gestured over to them, hinting that you should go over to the clothes and put them on.
"Before you go, I want you to break this." Rūgo leaned down to the bench again, grabbing onto the figure of the Tsuchikage made from stone. He handed it toward you, suggesting for you to take hold of it and do what he said. He wanted you to break it. How you went about it was entirely up to you. From there he proceeded over to the metal slab, seemingly ignoring you until you put the clothes on. From there, the lesson would continue.
