The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
Water sprouted out the sides of him, forming up into exact replications of himself. He admired the two of them, staring back toward the leader of the thugs. From this he handed the two clones one of the kunai each that he had previously tucked away. They held their kunais as the wire extended horizontally across Yox's chest. The mist had grown quite thick by now. People had to trust their hearing senses over their eyesight half the time. Yox wondered whether the businessman could see the wire. He hoped not.
Yox responded to the man. "I find it amusing, thug. They've given this mission a C-ranked priority. This means that it holds little significance to the higher ranked ninja, something that the younger ninja can be trialled with before given harder tasks. I've been entrusted with the task of dealing with you. You don't register as anything 'worthwhile' in the Hidden Mist. You should take the hint and get out of here before the Chuunin and Jounin get fed up with you. They're not as nice as I am. I'll make this quick... they won't," Yox hissed back to the man. He moved his hands into his pockets and drew out two more kunai for each of the mans blades. The plan was simple. Reverse psychology.
Yox headed into the direction of the leader of the thugs who stood ahead of him. Either side of him, his clones ran with their single kunai drawn. They were edged a slight distance in front of him. Yox could clearly see the wire extended across him horizontally, around the height of his neck. It appeared as if the businessman hadn't realised. "Ha ha! You foolish boy! I've seen this trick before. These are your 'clones', but I know exactly which one is you! Prepare to meet your demise!"
The goon swung both his blades across his chest, holding them above the opposite shoulder. He would gain momentum via a swift diagonal slice as the real Yox approached him. The goon appeared to not even care about the water clones running at him as well. This would be a mistake.
As the clones edged closer, the man laughed manically. Yox had a stern look across his face as he readied the kunais in his hands. The clones reached the man first, the wire digging into the businessmans wrists and forcing him back toward a wall from the momentum of the sprinting clones. At that moment where the mans hands were immobilised by the wire that was now strung across his arms and held via kunai stabbed either side of him into the wall, Yox lunged forward with his own two kunai and stabbed them into the top of the mans hands. At once the man dropped the two machetes he was holding. Clanging on the ground, the two water clones dispersed into water. Yox watched as the man helplessly was strung up against the wall, held in position by the wire holding his kunai-damaged hands up near his neck. His arms were in an x-formation across his upper chest as Yox edged his own face closer.
Directly looking into the mans eyes, Yox slithered his tongue out toward the man. "I thought you said you'd seen that trick before," Yox hissed as the mans expression had changed from confident to frightened. The man spoke again, but this time he trembled and had lost the vibrance in his voice.
"Please. Please don't kill me. I'll leave here, I'll be gone at once. I didn't think it would go this far. Just please let me go!" The man cried out to Yox as he watched him, unable to move. Yox was a merciful man. If he believed people had repented what they had done and were ready to move on, he found no other reason to torture them any longer. Ripping the kunai out of his hands and out of the wall either side of the man, the businessman could now move once again. Immediately he took off in a sprint toward the entrance of the compound, completely disregarding his two unconscious goons that remained in the wine cellar. That would be the last the Hidden Mist would see of that man for a while.
Yox collected his kunai from the floor. Wrapping the wire he had used back together again, he paced toward the exit of the compound. He wondered whether that was the end of the mission. It had sure taken a lot longer than the D-ranked mission he had already performed. It was definitely a lot more difficult and dangerous. Wiping the bloodied mess off the kunais onto his shirt, he tucked them back into the holsters. From there, he headed home. It was getting very late, way past this Genin's bed time. Tomorrow would be a new day, perhaps a break from another mission though.
Yox slowly crept through the cellar. His feet creaking on the wooden floorboards; the orange light from the candles illuminated the room. He kept close to the walls, careful not to knock anything over to create any unexpected loud noises for the goons outside. He had two more to take care of. He stood against the corner of the door into the cellar, peering out from around the corner. He studied the two as they continued to sit there and gamble with each other. Obviously they would grow restless and wonder where their friend is. That would be when he would strike.
He was a snake. He concealed himself in the long grass and waited for the guileless rat to edge closer and closer. Slithering through the grass, he would study his prey from afar. When the right moment came - bang, he would strike. Patience was the key to success. Patience was the key to catching your prey. Those who rushed would make noise and scare the prey off. Creating the right mood to completely surprise your target. That was the way of the snake. Assassination from the shadows.
Yox moved back into the room. When someone came to check on the unconscious fellow, Yox wanted to have some sort of advantage. He edged toward each of the candles that illuminated the room in an orange glow. He blew each of them out consecutively, each of them blowing a puff of grey smoke into the air once the fire faded. The rooms orange vibrance now faded to the despair of black. It became the perfect environment for a silent assassination, the perfect environment for a snake. He slowly slid into the corner of the room, drawing a kunai and the remainder of his wire from the pouch on the back of his hip. Tying the end of the kunai with the string of wire, he quickly jolted it across the path of the doorway at around shin height. The kunai flew through the air and pierced the wooden wall on the other side of the room. The wire now extended from Yox past the entrance to the door. Somebody walking through the doorway, especially in this light, would have no chance in seeing the small wire. The trap had been laid. All that was needed was the helpless mouse to spring the trap.
Yox could hear a yell from outside. "Kaizoku! What the hell are you doing back there? You better not be drinking all the wine in there ha ha," one of the men called out as Yox froze in the room. He could hear one of the seats budge as someone paced across the courtyard toward the room, the footsteps growing louder each second. Now was the time to strike. Yox quickly removed another kunai from his pouch. He tied the end of the wire that he was holding onto on the end of that kunai. Quickly stabbing it into the wall behind him, each kunai braced the wire across the doorway. Yox readied himself nearby for the man to enter. Once the man tripped, the snake would strike.
From the shadows that enshrouded him, Yox noticed it was another one of the subordinates as he innocently walked into the doorway. Immediately tripping on the wire, the man was flown forward in the direction in which Yox was standing with his fist held back. In an instant, Yox send a flying punch directly into the mans temple. The jolt from the impact shocked through the mans head as he continued to fall to the ground. However this time as he fell, he was no longer conscious. Thud. Yox did not catch him in time. The sound echoed through the room and out the door. Yox could hear the sound of blades being scratched against the ground as they were lifted into the air. It was now one versus one.
Yox leaped out of the doorway, tugging the wire holding the kunai with him and ripping them out of the wall. He headed out into the courtyard to greet the man in the business suit, now standing there with both blades drawn. "You're the red-headed punk that's been messing with my crew eh? I'm guessing you haven't heard of me... they call me Hiruken the Horrific and I'm about to show you why," he grinned whilst grinding the two cleavers in his hands together.
Yox eyed them carefully. He had to play it safe. Although this man wasn't a ninja, he was still a high levelled threat. This wasn't one of the training dummies from the academy, this wasn't a twelve year old academy student, this was a real life criminal who knew how to use his weapons. The best way to beat the non-ninja was to use the ninja tricks. He tucked the two kunai into his waist pocket. Flicking his hands into a seal, Yox flared his chakra around his body. "Water Style: Water Clone Technique."
There were four of them, including the one he had already taken out in the alleyway. Yox overlooked them from above, watching them continue with their game of poker. The businessman offered cigars to the others as they played. These were your typical criminal thugs that stole from the poor and helpless to further benefit themselves. Yox didn't despise them. They had a well developed system about how they did things, and it was successful. But, their system still threatened the lives of the people of the village. It was his job to protect the helpless civilians, and hence he would have to stop these goons and their operation. He listened closer as the man he had struck down previously began to speak again.
"Well. I'm going home for the night. I hit my head on the wall in the alleyway and it's given me a giant headache. Not only that, all my clothes are completely ruined thanks to that prick. If you see him, give him a smack in the face from me," he grunted whilst rubbing his head. The other men nodded whilst puffing from their cigars, signalling for the man to leave. Yox assumed him to be one of the lesser members, a grunt that went out to run the smaller errands whilst the others stayed back at the base and planned for much larger targets. As he left the open compound and locked the gate behind him, only three remained.
Yox leaned his back against the bricks on the roof as he watched the others below him. The moon had now shifted to the middle of the night. It was starting to get late, and Yox wasn't one to stay out all night and remain completely alert. Soon tiredness would kick in and his reaction time and senses would start to drop. He had to make sure that this mission was completed quickly. However the time was not the only problem. The mist was starting to grow thicker and thicker as the night progressed. Water molecules in the air began to accumulate as the wind chilled with the nightfall. He began to think though. Maybe he could use it to his advantage?
Yox continued to listen to the gangsters as they spoke whilst playing their card game. "Geez, it's not the best night. The mist is getting heavy here tonight. Soon boys, when we get rich, we'll move somewhere nicer. Somewhere like the Hidden Leaf and we'll rob the poor suckers there! Oi Kaizoku, go grab some more wine from the cellar. My cups running dry here," he instructed to possibly another one of his subordinates. Suddenly one of them stood up from the table and headed toward the building that Yox was currently sitting atop. Yox realised that this was an opportunity and he had to take it. There was no way he could take them on three versus one, he had to keep it in favour of his own odds.
Sliding down the side of the building, he landed down onto a balcony. Shifting his hands on the railing, he flipped off the side of the balcony and landed swiftly on the ground. Looking through an open window as an orange light illuminated the inside of the building, he watched as the man headed toward a few large wine barrels with a silver jug in his hand. Time to get this guy whilst he was off guard.
Yox quietly ducked down under the window frame. He proceeded to move his hand onto the glass window, tapping it a few times with his finger tip. The nail produced the sound, sending it into the room in which the man was filling up his wine jug. Intrigued, the man inside edged closer to the window. Yox could hear his feet pacing across the wooden floorboards as he edged closer to the window. It was time to prepare for an attack. Channeling his chakra to his eyes and maintaining a constant flow, Yox waited for the man to open the window to see what was outside.
The window opened above his head as the man inside looked from side to side to see what was outside tapping on the glass. Suddenly, Yox jumped up from below him and stood directly face to face with the man. "Soul of the Snake," Yox hissed as he stared into the eyes of the man directly. From that, he flared his chakra out toward the man and within an instant, the goon became stunned on the spot. He knew the hold would not last forever, thus Yox acted quickly and proceeded to knock the man out. A swift karate chop to the side of the stunned mans neck smacked a pressure point. This lead to the immediate cease of consciousness as the goon then slouched across the window frame. One more down.
Leaping up over the man, Yox moved into the wine cellar. Moving his hand into his own pouch, the Genin pulled out a long line of wire. He used to wire to tie up the man on the ground, leaving his body near one of the large barrels. Binding his arms together behind his back and his ankles together on the ground, this guy would be going nowhere when he woke up. To finish off the bind, Yox stuffed a nearby rag that was covered in red wine into the mans mouth. Now he wondered how he would deal with the other one, as well as the leader.
Without a second to waste Yox took off after the man. The villager who had been terrorised was no longer of concern; there was still a mission at hand. Channeling his chakra in a steady flow down to his feet, Yox stepped up the walls of the alleyway. The chakra applied grip to the walls, allowing his feet to momentarily climb him up the wall as he kicked back and forth from either side of the alleyway. A moment later, he had climbed to the rooftops yet again.
A dark blue haze had set over the village. White clouded mist began to accumulate more heavily, making it difficult to see without the assistance of the nearby street lamps. Yox could not lose this guy as it was the only lead he had in tracking down the rest of the thugs. Suddenly a scatter of trashcans in a nearby alley drew the attention of the Genin. Yox was on the move again.
Leaping across the rooftops, he propelled himself in the direction of the sounds and where he believed the thug ran off into. He made sure to keep his sounds minimal. He was tracking his prey. He was like a lion prowling in the bushes. The target must not be aware that they are being hunted, or everything could be thrown away and Yox could be lead in the wrong direction. The benefit of climbing the rooftops is that he avoided the obstacles in the streets and could easily chase down whoever was running from him. Soon enough, the goon came back into view.
He was running heavily as Yox watched him from above like a hawk. Making his way through the labyrinth of alleyways within the Mist Village, Yox drew to the conclusion that this guy was trying to lose him. He wouldn't let that happen however. Especially not now due to his ability to easily track the direction that this man was directed toward.
The red-headed Genin tracked the goon to a compound. Shoving a key into a lock on the gate, the thug brushed through the gates before locking them behind him. This was no issue for Yox however, who simply leaped across the rooftops of the gate and around to a nearby hiding spot on a nearby roof which gave him an eagle-eye view of the open compound. Yox could hear the mans heavy breath, obviously gained from running a fair distance and being quite large and out of shape. Yox watched as the man moved toward a group of men who were seated around a wooden table, by their sides machetes and other various threatening weapons. It looked as if they were playing a game of cards, probably gambling.
Their attention shifted to the incoming goon as he arrived. With the troubled look across his face and the fact that he was drenched in water, they knew something was up. Yox edged closer, walking in a crouched position across the rooftop toward the group. He needed to listen to what they were saying. Soon enough he had made a safe distance to study what they were talking about. The thug he had hit previously with his water wave was now telling the story to the group.
"-and then this red-headed punk comes out of nowhere and shoots me with a jet of water. Obviously a ninja, he came out right above me and I couldn't see him. Knocked me clean to the ground. I told you guys, the ninja would come after us once they heard about what we were doing. What do we do next? I don't want more of them to come and find the hideout," he spoke as the others half listened and half finished off their game of poker.
One of the men, dressed quite elegantly in a business suit, responded to the goon. "Ninja are nothing to worry about. Their own system is filled with backstabbers and corruption, especially in the Mist when they are renown for their missing-ninja. If they come here," he said whilst dropping his cards to the table faced-down, "then I invite them with open arms!" The businessman proceeded to grab two large machetes leaning against the wall behind him. He lifted them both into the air and sliced them across each other above his head. From there, the rest of his men began to chuckle to themselves. Yox watched them and began to plot out what he would do next. He would have to wait for the right time to strike. But, when would that be?
The setting was peaceful. A chilled breeze moved through the air and brushed gently across his face. He had entered a state of tranquility. His eyes were closed but his mind was aware. The peaceful environment around him not only calmed his mind but allowed his senses to become more alert. He could hear the slightest of things around him when they moved. A small mouse squeaking down below in an alleyway, rummaging through bits of rubbish. Leaves rustling in the wind as the trees that they were situated on gently swayed.
He could hear the chatter of two people near him. An alleyway over the east side of the inn. He crouched and gently crept along the rooftop, closer to where the voices were coming from. Perched up above the alleyway, Yox peered down into it to identify two men. One was large and rough, the other was quite feeble and small, possibly also the younger of the pair. It seemed as if the larger one was attempting to rob the smaller one. Perhaps this goon was one of the thugs the mission was talking about. Either way, it seemed as if he was terrorising this citizen... and it was his job to help the people of the village.
"C'mon buddy, hand it over. No one needs to get hurt," Yox overheard from above the alleyway. The situation became clear to him. This was a mugging. The fact that it was occurring in the market distract made it obvious that this guy was a member of the group of thugs. It was time for an intervention.
Yox leaped from the top of the roof, flicking his hands into a variety of hand seals. He channeled his chakra through his body, directed toward his throat. Slamming his hands into the last seal and holding it in place, he mouthed out the required words for the jutsu he was about to perform. "Water Release: Wild Water Wave," Yox shouted deeply as water filled his throat and propelled out of his mouth. Directed down toward the goon, the jet of water surged directly into him. Due to Yox coming from above, the goon was completely unaware of his presence. It would be a direct hit.
The goon was smashed with the wave and was thrown off into a nearby wall in the alleyway. At that moment, Yox landed on the ground and studied the goon carefully. The thug shook his head, coming back into a state of realisation of what was currently happening. The water had come unexpectedly. It was only natural for him to be confused. Yox began to speak again. "I'm looking for a group of thugs that have been terrorising the villagers around here. You wouldn't happen to know what I was talking about would you?"
The goon returned Yox's words with a mean glare. "How dare you. Do you know who you're talking about? My friends will hear about this. That red hair of yours is going to be a liability. I'm not going to forget you boy," the goon responded whilst scrambling across the wet floor to get back onto his feet. He quickly rushed out of the alleyway, leaving Yox and the civilian alone as he ran. There was no time to waste. Yox had to follow him. This thug would lead him to the others. The chase was on.
Name: Friendly intervention! Rank: C Ninja needed: 1-3 Mission info: A group of thugs have been terrorizing the village streets at night, making them no longer safe for those who walk during the midnight hour. They've been said to lurk near the market district so starting there is your best bet. Permission to use force is given, but do not underestimate them, they may not be shinobi but they will more than likely be armed. Bring them to justice!
The sun was drawing closer to the western horizon. A peachy orange filled the sky over the Land of Water, as the mist began to grow much denser and the light began to fade. It was the perfect environment for a criminal. Camouflage was in the air around you. Someone standing a few paces in front of you could disappear in an instant if they just took a few steps back. This was the reality for those who lived in the Hidden Mist. As the darkness of night gripped the village, as did the terrorisers who used the misty environment to their advantage. It was up to the shinobi of the village to defend the people when these attacks came. Justice would be delivered by a quick slash of the kunai.
These ideas ran through Yox's mind as he paced toward the Mizukage notice board in the village square. His hands were in both pockets as he walked through the mist that was beginning to enshroud the area. Lamp posts began to light up as the night took over. It was time for the village and it's people to head back home for the night after a days work. However not all people had shifts that went from 9am - 5pm. The work of a shinobi carried long through into the night. Sleeping with ease of thinking that there was no work to be done was an illusion. There was always work to be done, always people to protect, and always people to stop. He edged closer to the board as he read the priority missions. Skimming past the A and B-ranked missions, his finger slid down to the C-ranked. "Friendly intervention," he read out loud to himself whilst reading the description in his head. It seemed as if he had now something to occupy his night.
He had grown tired of D-ranked tasks. He wanted something more. Tonight he would prove himself by completing this mission. He had dealt with thugs before, however he wondered what sort of weapons they would have. Being non-ninja, that gave him the advantage. However, he had seen many things in his past that allowed him to understand that a cleaver-wielding non-ninja was not to be underestimated. The mission told him to head to market square. That would be the place where he would set up 'camp' for the night.
Heading into the market square, Yox walked into the local inn which had a second story. Handing some ryo over to the barkeep, Yox made his way up to the second floor to the thirteenth room. Brushing through the door, he trudged through the room ignoring what was within it. His goal was not in the room, it was outside. Pushing two large windows open, Yox stepped out onto a roof. He tried not to make too much noise, not wanting to draw attention to himself and possibly get thrown out of the inn for scaling the building. He climbed above the windows and onto the second story roof of the inn. It would become his lookout point. From here, he could see the entire area of the market square below. Anything that happened, he could see it.
Leaning his back against the chimney, he sat down atop the roof. The chimney surged him with the heat that was being provided by the fireplace below. Nothing too hot, it made him feel more comfortable out in the night. Sighing to himself, he rested his head back against the bricks as the sounds of the native animals filled the air around him. It was a quiet night. The perfect night for spying. He shut his eyes to keep his ears more alert to the sounds around him. He slowly drifted off into a light snooze. Perhaps he would miss out on tonights events.
Walking beside the boy back out of the alleyway, the boy began to question Yox on their walk back to the academy. "What jutsu was that? That was great! Can you teach me it? They never teach us stuff like that at the academy. That's why I always get bored there and just go off on my own," he spoke whilst looking around and getting distracted by the various street stalls.
"I can't teach you it. It's a skill I was born with. It's my bloodline limit. You can only learn similar strong techniques like the one I just performed if you focus in the academy. You have to pass and get good grades to become a Genin, otherwise you'll remain a worthless Academy Student forever. Then you will become a disappointment to everyone in the village. You don't want that do you?"
[/b] Yox walked as he questioned the boy. On their walk back toward the academy, Yox and the boy both discussed ways in which Ko could get some fun out of attending the academy everyday. Skills he could learn to show his 'dominance' over the other students was discussed. Ko was very intrigued by the ideas he was hearing from Yox. Yox was also relieved. He had just completed his first mission as a shinobi, and he wasn't harmed in the process. That was expected though of a D-Ranked mission. Perhaps he would try something harder when he handed this mission in. Something more exhilarating. Oh well, a ninja had to start somewhere.
When they reached the academy, they both arrived to a Chuunin Academy Teacher whom greeted Yox with wide arms and approval... and Ko with a look of bitter annoyance. "Thank you for returning him to me! This little one is going to be writing lines for the rest of the day. Thanks again Genin," the teacher said after taking Ko back into the academy. Yox placed his hands back into his pockets. One mission down, many more to go. It was time to get back to the Mizukage's office. Perhaps something else had come in needing to be done.[/justify][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]
Yox brushed the brown drape back over the entrance as he walked out. He made a reminder in his head that if he did complete this task successfully today, he would definitely return to the ramen house and grab a bite to eat later. But for now, it was back onto focusing on the mission at hand.
He paced down the street in the direction he was guided into. He held the picture of the boy with his right hand, glancing down to it and back up to the street at times, and comparing the face of the boy to the other teenage boys around him. No luck. It was not a busy day. At this point it was during the work hours of the day, many people were either at school or performing their daily rituals. The streets had a few stray people here and there, thus Yox believed it would be an easy task to find the boy. This, however, was not the case judging from his luck so far.
He continued to pace through the streets, checking almost every face as he walked by. He received many confused looks in return as he glared at every teenage boy, studying their facial features and comparing it to the photograph he had. Suddenly he noticed a small boy at the front of a candy side shop. The shop keep was distracted, busily talking to another person with her back turned. Yox watched as the small boy crept closer and closer to the stand, his hand extended out to the variety of sweets on display. With a quick comparison of the photograph to the boy, Yox realised that this was the 'rebel' that he was after.
Cautiously creeping up behind the boy, Yox quickly wrapped his arms around him and pulled him into him. The boy yelled, drawing in the attention of other people around him. Yox quickly tried to cover up the situation by yelling out. "Hey brother Ko. We cant have you eating too much candy and spoiling your apetite for lunch..."
Yox proceeded off with the boy, carrying him whilst walking him around the corner into an alleyway. As the boy shook Yox free of the grip, he turned around to him with an angered look on his face. "Hey! What are you doing!? You just ruined my chance to get some sweets! Who the heck are you?"
"Just look into my eyes... everything will be alright Ko. From now on you'll do exactly as I say. Understood?" Yox immediately began preparing a technique whilst the boy was yapping at him from in front. He stared into the eyes of Ko, flaring his chakra into his eyes and out into the mind of the boy. By performing the 'Soul of the Snake [Snake Eyes]' technique, the boy was frozen in his spot unable to move a muscle. Of course, by this stage the boy began to freak out.
"Please! Please don't hurt me! I'll return to the academy I swear! I'm so sorry. Please don't hurt me!" Yox grinned in response to the boy. Nodding his head as if he was suggesting that he agreed with the boys words. Releasing the technique from the boy, Ko shook himself as he stood back up in place and retained control over his own body again. The boy began to pant heavily, as if he had just escaped some sort of shock. Yox slithered his tongue outside of his mouth in amusement, obviously another trait that would frighten the boy. It was time to take this boy back to where he belonged during this time of day.[/justify][/blockquote][/size][/blockquote]
Name: Rebel Rank: D Ninja needed 1-3: Mission info: Young academy student Ko has skipped class yet again and is out lallygagging around the village. As a shinobi it is your mission to find and return him to the Academy. Force is allowable if he chooses to run, however capture Ko without hurting him. Ask villagers to discover his last known location.
Yox casually paced down the busy streets of Kirigakure no Sato, hands in his pockets and quite a stern look across his face. It was his first mission as a shinobi. He had to prove to hold some sort of competence to not only himself, but to also the Mizukage. He had to show that he was a worthwhile asset to the ninja of the Hidden Mist.
His mind was fixed on the task at hand. Time to hunt this little runt down, he thought to himself as he paced from shop to shop, looking through the open windows. It was suggested in the mission statement that he sought out the guidance of local villagers for the whereabouts of this boy. Yox believed that the place which held the highest amount of footfall of teenage boys would be the ramen restaurant. That would be the first place where he would go.
He brushed his hand past the brown drape that hung over the entrance to the ramen shop. As he entered, the smells of the various flavours of ramen drifted into his nose. Beef, pork and chicken. He could smell them all. It was hard to remain focused on task especially with the temptation of a break with a filling meal of ramen. No. He had to stay concentrated on the goal at hand. He had to find this boy.
Yox drifted across the room to the main bar area. Sitting on a stool, he opened a menu to deceive the chef into thinking that he was here to buy a meal. He had other plans. Eventually the chef made his way across the bar to Yox. When he reached Yox, he spoke. "Hey there boy. What can I get for ya?"
Yox twitched at the label of 'boy'. It was something that he wanted to leave in the past especially since he was technically a 'man' now. He just found that the term boy registered to someone who was young and naïve. Yox wanted to be renown as being a somewhat valiant man, rather than a pipsqueak of a boy. Ignoring the remark, he tilted his head to the side and responded to the chef whilst taking a picture out of his back pocket. "I'm looking for a boy. His name is Ko. Here's a picture of him. You seen him around here?"[/color]
"Oh, him. Yeah I seen him. Was 'round here earlier tryna' get some free meals outta' me. Hate punks like him. Went off that way," the chef replied with whilst pointing his hand in a direction out of an open window. Yox simply nodded in response to the man and dropped the menu back down on the bench. Rising ou of his seat, he gave the chef a slight nod of approval before heading out in the direction where he was pointed into. It was time to find 'Ko'.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]
Appearance: Yox has porcelain pink coloured skin, a trait acquired through living in the nation of water enshrouded by mist. He has a fairly slim and slender build, known to take advantage of his agile body type in combination with his snake-styled techniques. Yox is not known to spend time bulking his body with large muscles, rather combining his fast metabolism and active exercise together to maintain a healthy slim physique. He has a rather mischievous facial structure, always grinning along with his piercing cyan glare to reveal a sinister state of mind. His pale cream hair is kept long and hangs loosely off the top of his head. He doesn't care whether his hair sits down on his face, if anything preferring it to add to his persona of enigmatic falseness.
Apparel: Yox is fitted with fairly average clothes. He doesn't attempt to make any form of fashion statement through what he wears. Covering his chest is a long-sleeved black shirt which hangs off over his hands for about 3 inches. This proceeds to a set of coffee coloured long pants that extend to his ankles on both legs. Around his waist is a matching coffee belt, with the Kirigakure forehead protector metal strapped across the belt buckle. On his feet he wears a set of black standard shinobi sandals.

Personality: Yox is a very silent character, situated often within the shadows to mask his true intent and to overwatch events as they unfold. He maintains self-reliance due to the fact that through opening up and trusting people in the past too easily, he has fallen victim to betrayal and lies. Yox is a planner; always preparing himself for events before they occur rather than simply heading into a situation without clear thinking. He believes himself to not be a front-line soldier, rather someone who sits back and identifies the scenario along with the possible threats to his own life and others around him before heading in. He can be very deceitful at times, opting to trick those around him to either further benefit himself or his comrades. Yox is a true 'floater'. He has no true allegiance to anyone other than himself. His belief is that self-resilience is the key to survival. Why trust others when he can simply trust himself? He follows the strong and leaves the weak behind. When he can see a scenario unfold that will most likely be disadvantageous to himself and his comrades, he will opt to betray his comrades at any cost to get on the winning side. Some may call him a coward, others may call him smart. Yox only looks to maintain one thing in this world; not love, not friendship, but his life. His life is more important to him than any friendship with another person. He does not act bitter to those who have shown their ability to perform well and be trusted, revealing a side to Yox that is more of a easy going and positive nature.
Allegiance: Himself and his current village. Alignment: True Neutral. Tendencies: Habitually slithers his tongue out and around his mouth.

Nan-Kaizou (Way of the Snake - Soften Modification)75 Rank:D, C, B, A, S Type: Supplementary / Kage-Hebi Nintaijutsu Range: Self Chakra/ + Stamina: High Special: By default, this jutsu allows the user to move one appendages (legs or arms) to stretch. With each rank earned, one more appendage can be stretched at the same time, as well as for longer distances. The head and torso can only be stretched once the user learn the ‘S’ ranked version of this jutsu. Highest rank known determines limb stretching range and speed, as well as its defense; the scales of the slithery snake grant it a natural defense against attacks one rank lower than the highest rank known in this jutsu.
D: 6 meter range / 3 meter per second limb stretching speed C: 12m range / 6 mps stretching B: 18m / 9 mps A: 24m / 12 mps S: 30m / 15 mps
Description: Nan Kaizou is one the most essential Kagehebi Nintaijutsu technique, as it allows a ninja to make their body extremely malleable, much like a snake. It was originally developed for spying activities, but perfected in the hands of the Kagehebi and their natural snake-infused blood. When used the clan member can stretch and twist their body at any angle, allowing them to surprise their opponents, spy on situations normally out of reach, and react much like a snake would. The only drawback is that while malleable, their bodies are highly susceptible to damage in this form as their bone structure is no longer ‘normal’. Domain: Kagehebi.
Jatai no Sasori (Strike of the Snake [Venom Fangs])25 Rank:D, C, B, A, S Type: Passive / Kage-Hebi Nintaijutsu Range: Self Chakra + Stamina: -- Special: Adds a unique poison to all Kage Hebi related techniques and strikes. Must be prepared before the intended Kage-Hebi jutsu is made. Highest rank known determines amount of time needed for bite to sustain before poisoning is successful, as well as the steady internal damage the poison produces; internal damage is per turn, and is equal to one rank less than the rank of the poison used. Poison comes from a unique snake venom, meaning normal healing methods (not removal, healing!) will take twice (2x) as long to heal this poison; additionally, traditional medical removal methods are ineffective. The only known antidote for this poison is literally the blood of a Kage-Hebi being commingled with one's own.
D: Full Turn biting time (5 seconds) C: 3/4th's of a turn (4 seconds) B: Half a turn (3 seconds) A: 1/4th's of a turn (2 seconds) S: Near-Instant! (1 second)
Description: Snakes are one of the most venomous creatures of the animal kingdom, an important attribute for survival and dominance. In the case of the Kagehebi, this trait has not been overlooked. With intense training, the clan member can learn to produce a uniquely strong poison which can be added to their clan jutsu in order to leave their victims helpless. Drawback: Kagehebi. Nan-Kaizou.
Tenshourinne (Rebirth-Replacement Skin Shedding)75 Rank:D, C, B, A, S Type: Supplementary / Defensive / Kage Hebi Nintaijutsu Range: Self Chakra + Stamina: Low - Massive [per shedding] Special: Allows clan member to shed their old skin when facing damage one rank lower than the highest rank known in this technique. Damage suffered cannot be enough to instantly kill the user, or else the replacement cannot kick-in in time. Can only be used once per turn. It takes a full second to shed one's body, and only Kagehebi jutsu can be used for the turn right after the shedding, mainly because one's new body is attempting to adjust. Description: The pinnacle of all Kagehebi Nintaijutsu, it allows the clan member to experience a near total rebirth of their physical form at the cost of a large amount of chakra being used. Should a significant portion of their body be damaged in battle, the Kagehebi can emerge from their unscathed mouth and cast off the skin of their former body. This new body will not bear the damage of the previous incarnation; however over-use of this technique will greatly weaken the user. This jutsu can also be used as a form of Kawarimi, allowing the Kagehebi to avoid an attack by leaving their previous skin behind. Drawback: Kagehebi. Nan-Kaizou.
Saragi no Mai (Snake Pit Dance)25 Rank: D Type: Supplementary / Kage-Hebi Nintaijutsu Range: Self Chakra + Stamina: Low [initial + upkeep] Special: Only one Main Weapon can be designated to be affected by this technique at any given time. Weapon can only be manipulated if it's within the user's 'Nan-Kaizou' range; as such, when moving back to the user, it retains the same 'NK' speed. Description: This technique allows the user to "store" their main weapon within their body. Though the weapon is stored within the body, any damage done to the user does not cause damage to the weapon nor does the weapon damage the user. At will, the user is able to regurgitate the weapon from their mouth or summon a snake from their mouth with the weapon inside said snake. Best of all, this technique also allows the user to retrieve their weapon from any distance by allowing the weapon to transform into a snake and letting it slither back to its owner. Domain: Kage-Hebi. Nan-Kaizou 'D'.

D: Full Turn reaction time (5 seconds) C: 3/4th's of a turn (4 seconds) B: Half a turn (3 seconds) A: 1/4th's of a turn (2 seconds) S: Near-Instant! (1 second)
Description: Snakes are wonderful sensors, able to locate things within their surroundings through changes in temperature, as well as the intermingling of ordors within the microcellsi n its mouth; as such, the user's birthed with the snake blood have learned to hone this ability, able to spot disturbances in their surroundings at all times. D: Full Turn eye contact time (5 seconds) / Near-Instant Paralysis C: 3/4th's of a turn (4 seconds) / 1/4th of a Turn B: Half a turn (3 seconds) / Half of a Turn A: 1/4th's of a turn (2 seconds) 3/4th's of a Turn S: Near-Instant! (1 second) / Full Turn!
Description: Snakes are known for their vicious glare, and their baility to frighten opponents to the point of freezing them in place. After much training, those with the blood of the snakes learn to conjure up those legendary 'Snake Eyes' for a mere moment, catching anyone unlucky enough to be drawn in and placing them under a momentary paralysis. Comprised purely of water, this clone retains the user movement speed and strength. Best of all, due to its flowing essence, the water clone is capable of using a hefty amount of the original user's suiton-based techniques either for defensive means or offensive. Domain: Suiton.

This stream moves frighteningly fast, and carried enough force to knock over even strong boulders. Domain: Suiton.
Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)50 Rank:D, D, D, D, D Type: Supplementary / Suiton Ninjutsu Range: 0 - 20 meters Handseals: Yes. Chakra: Low to cast and sustain. Description: Though very basic, the Hidden Mist Technique allows for the stealthier side of combat to rule. After forming a few simple handseals, the user causes the area surrounding their target to be covered in fog. The low visibility allows the ninja to silently and secretly assassinate their target, as they can move unseen, and if careful, unheard. The mist can be unsettled by a very strong wind based technique (for one post), though it will eventually return. Domain: Suiton.
