Enenra (Smoke Demons)

Many misconceptions still exist about the Enenra, their origins marred in mystery as putrid and obscure as their techniques. Named Enenra due to the common tale of possessing the blood of Smoke Demons, their actual bloodline is traced back to the Land of Rice, where a group of especially talented Katon practitioners honed their abilities to such a fine point that their fire actually became the least effective component of their techniques, as the destructive and often fatal results of their training left little room for flexibility. Few things exist more flexible than smoke, a fact appreciated by the Enenra of today. As distant as their practices are from the occult, this fascination with smoke and trickery has led to them being feared, not as engines of war, but as a corrupting influence on the Ninja World.

Enenra utilize a system of inhaling and exhaling. Inhaling takes the place of handseals for Enenra, utilizing a "charging" period equal to the handseal count, during which time no techniques may be utilized but movement and basic use of arms and legs can be used. Exhaling is the execution of techniques, or simply the expulsion of the smoke for exterior techniques.

Restrictions.

• Enenra is a Ninjutsu Master or Genjutsu Master only clan.
• User must possess and is limited to the Katon (Fire) Release.
• Use of Enenra techniques erodes the enhanced properties of eyes, lungs and noses. Those who enjoy the benefits of a doujutsu, stamina enhancement or sense of smell will have these benefits removed upon joining the clan. Additionally, users are barred from any melee Taijutsu techniques and are considered physically weak and fragile. This is expected to be reflected in RP and failure to do so will be met with punishment.

Description: Personalized to look like cigars, cigarettes or even non-smoking implements, a Makitabako is an Enenra's greatest friend, a reusable tobacco implement with a nigh infinite amount of tobacco within it. The size of a pinky finger, or even as large as a forearm, these implements can hold an extremely potent and efficient store of tobacco grown by Enenra, allowing them to use their techniques without the worry of running out of smoke

MASTERY

• Tier One - Ryouiki (Sightless): Living in and around smoke all their lives, Enenra attune to smoke, debris, dust and muck over time. All instances of smoke effectively become clear to an Enenra, allowing them to look through and comfortably breath their own and even foreign sources of smoke as if it was typical oxygen.
• Tier Two - Seishinbyou (Psychosis): Tales of Enenra and their Youkai have spread around the world for years, the sense of dread inflicted by their antics on the battlefield stems from their seemingly occult powers. Naturally enhancing their smoke with an unnamed, airborne chemical. As their smoke is often easy to breath in, those that mindlessly inhale their smoke or expose open wounds to their smoke for too long will be put under the strain of this chemical, with differing effects based on the time spent within the smoke:
  
  1-2 turns: Minor heartbeat increase.
  3-4 turns: Medium heartbeat increase, ocular sensitivity to light and movement is enhanced.
  5-6 turns: Large heartbeat increase, ocular sensitivity is further enhanced and hyperacusis (over sensitivity to sound) sets in.
  7-8 turns: Dangerous heartbeat increase, both previous effects are enhanced and the victim's head spins, causing them to lose their sense of direction and removes all concept of concentration.
  9-10+ turns: Extreme heartbeat increase, previous effects are enhanced and extreme, chemical based paranoia sets in. The sight of any other (seemingly) living thing is often enough to trigger a full blown heartattack.
  
  Avoiding inhaling or exposing an open wound to this chemical for two turns will give the body time to flush all chemicals out, effectively resetting the timer.
• Tier Three - Enenra (Smoke Demon): When mastering their smoke abilities, an Enenra becomes capable of the feats that have led to their clan being considered occult. When concentrating on their feats of paranoia, an Enenra foregoes their use of traditional, offensive techniques and enters a state of absolute terror. Unlocks the technique Enenra (Smoke Demon) and confers the following effects if the user has not used an Offensive technique in the previous three turns. If a technique is used, these effects are lost and must "cooldown" before they automatically reapply themselves.
  
  - Gaitou becomes costless and is passively applied to both the user and any active Youkai.
  - The cost of Suudo: Youkai is reduced by one tier and an additional two clones may be created and maintained.
  - The duration of all Exhale ranks is increased by two turns.
  - Can utilize the Enenra (Smoke Demon) technique.

This tar is impossible to breath in, causes sickness if ingested and considerably slows the movement of all tangible objects to a crawl while within the substance. This tar will last in place until it is dispersed with an equal ranked explosion, Katon or Futon technique.

Note: The radius of tar is directly related to the size of the creation being tarred. A human sized creation will leave a human sized creation's worth of tar, etc.[/ul]

[/i] to outside influence. While in the grasp of this smoke, an organic target will forcefully have smoke forced into their pores, lungs or orifices. When released, the smoke will dissipate and the enemy will be free to move once more. A burst of chakra greater than this technique is required to break free of this. The Enenra may not move or cast any techniques during the duration of this technique and maintaining its grasp requires their full concentration.

Note: A sufficient surge of chakra (Massive) is required to break the hold. Offensive techniques will have little to no effect on the binding and risks damaging the captured extremity/body. Requires Suudo: Korikatamaru (Smoke Art: Coagulate) to be known.

Suudo: Youkai (Smoke Art: Specter): I think this should probably be lowered to three turns, five turns is typically an entire fight really.

Suudo: Korikatamaru (Smoke Art: Coagulate): Seems a little cheap for what it does.

Everything else seems okay for the most part. Pretty cool and interesting.

Youkai is that duration because Enenra are designed to play the long game in a fight, but I can lower this if you feel it is necessary.

Any insight as to what additional costing you'd want on Coagulate?

Youkai: Yeah, I figured that was the case. I would accept the duration for a higher cost, but lasting five turns while being a mid in the case of knowing what they do is quite a bit to ask.

Coagulate and Banish: Both of these are really really strong and hard to gauge. Banish should definitely be an S-Rank technique and require Coagulate to be known. Banish itself should cost a Massive. Then I feel like the logical progression makes more sense in accordance to tiers of power.
