The Tsuchi Royal Family

Greetings, boys and girls! My name is Lash, and I'm here to present the idea of a brand new RP group. My basic goal is simple: I want to create a "royal" family of ninja inside of Iwagakure, complete with its own compound inside of Iwagakure in order to promote a close-knit group of characters who have to double up in loyalties, both to the village and to the family.
I've chosen Iwagakure because of its lack of activity. The idea would be to use this family as a way to start bringing activity to the village so that we can begin having some fun in there!
The name of this family is to be Uruwatsuki.
There do, of course, need to be some ground rules.
- Anyone interested in doing this needs to create a new character on a new account. I want players to work at this from scratch so that the characters have meaning to each other that is built instead of insinuated through OOC history.
- Characters created should be no older than 15.
- I will allow people to create various KG or Clan characters, but I will not be allowing any Elemental KG's. It is still possible for characters to possess KT, but not through any Elemental KG's. It must also be said that if one is playing a character from any clan that posses "branches", such as Hyuuga, they must always be from the lowest caste. The important part of being a part of this family is the Uruwatsuki name, no other.
- The "clan" hierarchy is passed down through the female line, meaning that in order to be in the "clan", the mother must be devoid of KG or Clan techniques. These things must be passed down from the father.
- I will be creating several Key NPC's for the family which will consist of three Elders, the current Head of the family, and a smattering of devoted servants. If you have any ideas for these NPCs because you would like to use them for story purposes, feel free to talk to me about it.
- Political authority in the clan is decided based on how close one is to the Main Family. The more that a certain branch of the family has married outside of the family, the less their political authority within the clan will be. Make sure to consider this information upon creating your character, for those with KG/Clan heritage will have less political sway than those who are "pure blooded"; that is to say, those who have married strictly into the family.
- It is proper to address people within the clan by their title. The current titles are: Elder (for the three Elders), Oka-sama (for the current Head of the family), and Hime (for the current princess). If the character does not currently possess a title, it is traditional for clan members to address each other as "cousin", unless directly related (i.e., brother/sister, uncle/aunt, etc.), in which case the correct title is traditional.
- Those who are full-blooded Uruwatsuki are generally of average height, pale skin, blue to hazel eyes, and blonde hair. Take in this information when creating your character, as you should, in general, match this appearance, unless you're a child from an outside marriage.
- The men of the family take it upon themselves to guard and protect the women from harm. The women are allowed to learn the arts of battle and different jutsu, but as a whole they are not meant to participate in battle unless it is specifically required of them. This forms a great bond of honor between the men and the women of the family, with the women generally considered better suited to point a weapon, in this case the men, in the right direction to be used in battle, while the men spare the women the need to spill blood. Please note that this is not always the case, and there are usually a couple of women in the family who take to combat much more than politics. It is worth noting, however, that the desire to become more proficient in combat in a woman than what is necessary will result in a general absconding of political power in the woman, and she will be considered in the eyes of all those around her as more of a man than a woman. A woman who has learned a combination of up to three masteries in combat-oriented arts is considered to have crossed this line.
- A woman is more than allowed to learn the arts of Genjutsu, Sensor, and Medical techniques. These abilities do not count against them in terms of combat-oriented arts. However, any Release, Fighting Style, Puppetry, or KG/Clan styles count towards the Mastery limit.
- It is possible for a woman to exceed her Masteries by 1 for each Rank that she obtains. For example, a promotion to Chuunin will allow her 4 Masteries, while a promotion to Jounin will allow her 5 Masteries.
- It is also possible to learn more than the current Mastery limit will allow. This involves making your knowledge of these techniques a secret and keeping them a secret. Exposing at any point that your abilities exceed the allowed Masteries will abscond a woman of her right to any sort of political authority.
- I will be RPing the Princess "Heir" of the family.
It is my overall intent to keep the clan fairly balanced in terms of males and females, although I would not mind if there ended up being slightly more males than females. You will need to make clear to me what your intention within the family is: for example, do you plan on being a political contestant rather than a battle one? If so, you'll need to create a female character and have her relatively close to the main line of the family. I will allow for up to one younger sister and brother, so if this interests you, you should consider taking one of these roles.
If, however, you're more interested in playing the protector role and more interested in seeing combat abroad, you're better off making a male character that has some sort of clan ability or the like, since you'll have no chance at political power inside of the family.
If you find yourself intrigued, feel free to post here with an offer to create a character or ask any questions, and I'll be more than happy to respond.
Please note that I will need to approve any character being created to ensure that it meshes with the family. Do not be surprised or upset if I ask you to make some changes so that you fit the storyline of the clan better. If you refuse to make these changes I will deny the character.
This should be fun guys. I hope to get some really interesting plot going on.
