The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.

The time passed gradually - it was really a boring walk. His lips had thinned into a simple line as his hands lightly fell behind his back, left hand lightly grasping his right wrist as he observed his surroundings. He had been wandering for some time, and by the look on his face he was pretty bored of it. Being a sensor, he was somewhat good at tracking without sensing others as well - and occasionally, he would try to pick up any chakra signals that were out there. For a moment he decided to rest, sitting down against the base of the tree as he exhaled a slight sigh.
A gentle breeze caressed the only exposed portion of my body, locks of loose raven dancing to the tune the winds forced upon them. The figure - no more than 40 meters to my Northeast - had chosen rest at the base of random bark, sitting down slowly and without incident. The sun's mid-day rays burned at the back of my neck, forcing me to produce yet another annoyed sigh. Unfortunately for me, the only tree in the area existed at the stranger's back; after that, it was nothing but grass and dirt all around for miles in each direction.
Angling had prevented him from spotting our entrance as we'd accidentally stumbled upon his traveling figure from behind, but I predicted it mattered not soon enough. The minute we left Kaminari and stepped foot on fiery soil, we had committed ourselves to the idea that everything around us was enemy territory - as such, I was prepared to see our task through to the very end, regardless of necessity. Kumo's fate, in the hands of inexperience, would become darker than our beloeved Black Lightning. Therefor I, the ultimate patriot of Cloud, would be forced to take matters into my own hands - a notion executed gladly, I might add.
"And we're live..."
My words were whispered into the secrecy of Team Silent Homicide's communicator, intended solely for the ears of my Kaguya counterpart and nothing more. Although I had afforded Nami no gaze or general acknowledgement whatsoever - it had never left the resting man's visage - our plan of attack was very clear. My steps were slow, covering the empty expanse between the stranger and I at a snail's pace. Now barely thirty-five meters away, my chakra roared. It was time to let the world know there'd be a new power to respect. A new foe to bow down to.
Luckily for the intruder, he hadn't been noted yet. Of course, he had also noticed that apparently this was the only tree in the location, which triggered quite a solid idea now what you mention it. Standing (quite before the intruder could get to his thirty-five distance) and facing the tree, the Etsuko peered up at the tree and examined its height in terms of being able to see long distances, also peering in the opposite directions to see if there were any bigger trees; because this one was pretty massive. I guess despite it being Hi no Kuni, there weren't many trees in this part of the area, huh? Momentarily he pondered this, before noting a figure at the corner of his peripheral while examining. It was a bit away, but he could make out that it was a shinobi - a shinobi that he hadn't brought with him. Most likely, it was a Konoha shinobi. Was he being tracked?
His lips thinned into a straight line, and his body twisted so that his back would once again be against the base of the tree as his fingers executed some seals; and just as quickly as he disappeared hidden by the tree, he appeared on the opposite end of the large base. A flick of his wrist released a single kunai in the direction of the intruder with great accuracy and speed, aimed directly for his face; instantly after it being released his hands completing another set of seals. However, his guard was up and his eyes remained vigilant. Luckily if things came to worse, the others weren't far away; but he doubted they would be required.

Was this kid seriously trying to throw something at me from over one hundred feet...? Crimson eyes gazed in disbelief at this pathetic display of 'skill', though I chose not to waste my time and watch the end-result of futile throw. I had already become like the wind, moving to my front-right and staying at least ten meters away from the flying metal at all times. In the process of my advance, my hands danced to another tune, one that although short and brief, would grant me a new complex set of counter-attacks made special just for this particular stranger.
They were four in all, two at each of my sides ready to act upon my mental command. Birthed under a thin veil of smoke and electricity, they said nothing yet screamed of everything base on appearance alone. While their eyes scanned the many horizons I'd turn toward my treebound friend, eyes a'scarlet never having left the youth with poor judgement. Now thirty meters away, we'd cease any further progress for a mere moment. It'd be during this time that I'd pose a simple question, slightly shouted in order to ensure his ears were not robbed of my information. As I spoke, my chakra continued to once more, my hands entertaining yet another beat...

Seeing as someone who didn't even have the proper understanding of length was attempting to come at me bro, Shiro already turned and booked it as the foe was decreasing his distance from the kunai (seeing as no Shunshin was stated, it wasn't instantaneous). Though he wasn't as swift, the boost of shunshin and a bit of his own efficiency of the wind element helped - decreasing their distance by ten more meters (before becoming twenty, and then thirty) as Shiro headed to a more... crowded area to which he would promptly enter. Fighting in the open was so out of style - especially in Hi no Kuni where there should be trees everywhere! Should his foe follow him in a more proper place of battle, he would find the battleground to become a cluster of trees; a forest that the country acquaints itself with (because you know, you can totally find one tree for miles around in Hi no Kuni). Shiro himself, however, had disappeared in the clutter of trees and was doing his favorite thing evarrrrr.
Waiting. Watching. Lurking.
ooc: by the way, one hundred feet isn't that huge bro, and seeing as we're trained assassins, i don't see how its impossible to throw that length. also, seeing as i wasn't even given a chance to make the 'location' considering this was to be a search thread and not a battle thread; i'm seriously calling lolnogo on your battlefield scenario. it's hi no kuni, and as your description says: "Despite it's name, Hi no Kuni is marked by forests," i view it highly unlikely that this would be the only tree for miles on around. maybe in the current nearby vicinity, but not for miles all around.
OOC - It doesn't matter what the country description says 'bro'. Sorry, but your inability to properly frame a post and describe your surroundings isn't my problem - that's RPT1 101. If you don't describe your area and distancing well, then that means you're forfeiting that right and giving me free reign to do so =P
I'm not letting this slide. As the thread creator it's your responsibility to describe your setting and your surroundings. Because you didn't I did, meaning we're playing on my field now. Calling in a BMod to rule on this hit, since you're essentially not running through forest but simply flickering through an open field, with your back to me.
I'd turn toward my treebound friend, eyes a'scarlet never having left the youth with poor judgement
Shiro already turned and booked it as the foe was decreasing his distance from the kunai (seeing as no Shunshin was stated, it wasn't instantaneous).
Under the predictive power of my somewhat mature Sharingan I'd act, able to pick up the slightest hints of subtle movement from the moment he chose to turn tail and run. The chakra within my body yelled as the stranger moved out, and in the blink of an eye, we'd both disappear. The four shocking clones knew of my intentions, which is why they continued to chase us despite our sudden speedy spurt; they'd deal with the Fire Clone, as well as any other intruders. So while I chased, they'd stay loosely behind, all four within ten meters of each other, their eyes constantly deciphering the many secrets of the horizons.
He wouldn't see it coming. While he engaged in a trio of Shunshin, so would I, a quadruple burst allowing me to cut down our separation to no more than 15 meters. However, while his jumps were in straight lines and thus easily predicted, I shimmered behind him left and right, at his blind spot at all times, until I'd appear to his back, at his weakest. However, I did not come alone, for upon my re-apparition (timed right with his), a set of ten lightning slashes came forth, both of my outstretched palms unleashing a sudden torrent of fast-moving Raiton chakra meant to cut my opponent down.
Raiden (Thunder & Lightning)[/u] Rank: D, C, B Type: Passive / Raiton Ninjutsu Range: - Special: Allows the Makuden to cast Raiton jutsu using the gauntlets as medium. Works only on known Raiton jutsu equally ranked or lower. Description: With enough training, the user of the Makuden begins to discover how to cast Raiton jutsu purely through the gloves. Domain: Raiton. Makuden (Lightning Claws)
[/u] Rank: B Type: Offensive / Raiton Ninjutsu Range: Lightning claw slash bonus power, size and travel distance depends on the highest 'Raiden' rank known. 'D' ranked starts off with a 5 meter travel distance and a 5 meter long slash - each rank gained adds 5 extra meters to both, as well as increases the bonus damage. Special: After gathering a sufficient amount of Raiton chakra in one's claws, they can unleash an open-palmed slash which extends a cutter of lightning from each finger tip uniformly. The result is sheer devastation, as the lethality of the strike is only rivaled by its sharpness. Domain: Raiton. Makuden (Lightning Claws). ooc: Actually, I already spoke with Comatose and Atsuhiro before hand about my post, and both agreed with me that it was highly farfetched for the sudden field to become a grassland for 'miles all around'. Along with the fact I enjoy how you claim I never gave a description of the area - when frankly - I wasn't even aware this thread would become a battleground, in which case I would assume considering I'm moving through Hi no Kuni, which canonically is full of trees as far as the eye can see; I didn't think I would have to make it blatantly obvious due to being randomly assaulted. I'll let a BM handle this.
I'd also like to point out that while you were running (no shunshin), Shiro had already increased the distance possibly by twenty meters in that time frame - thus making it rather odd that you could suddenly 'catch up' when your Sharingan wasn't even activated during that time frame. And before you can claim that you used Shunshin whilst running away from the kunai, I'd like to point out you were also making clones - which I ultimately do not see how your speed > mine, when I am performing one simple action, and you're doing multiple.
Also, when did Sharingan stop requiring eye contact to predict movements?
But I will abide by what the BM has to say in terms of us suddenly being in a field for miles on around after just recently entering Hi no Kuni.
Now thirty meters away, we'd cease any further progress for a mere moment.
Want to know whats more funnier than a shinobi who failed at math?
A dead one.
You see, as the shinobi and his clones were thirty meters distance away, Shiro ultimately had increased the distance between the tree and himself in the opposite direction by twenty more meters (assuming the BM agrees that while you were 'running away' from the kunai, its plausible that Shiro had already Shunshin'd away - also considering you had did all that other crap - activating Sharingan, making clones, and then standing around), leaving only ten more meters to be scaled.
The true distance between Shiro and his foe would be twenty meters, as quoted by the attacker himself. The four bursts of Shunshin would bring the Uchiha ten meters behind the tree, with his clones trailing behind him (seeing as they can't use Shunshin). With him stopping ten meters behind the tree, he would also be seen by the Fire Clone which had been hiding there - precisely waiting for this moment. A rough throw of a kunai would aim to the back of the Uchiha's skull (and with the angle, it would hit in a blind spot at the side back of his skull) before his clones could even catch up to the speed of his Shunshin - and seeing as how the Uchiha had passed the tree without even eying behind the tree (rather, leaving his 'clones' to deal with the Fire Clone in which they should not even know be there), it was highly unlikely he would hear the kunai coming over the short range it was thrown due to all of the lightning sounding off, seeing as it was tossed once he had stopped moving and had appeared with his little jazz hands.
What's sad is that the technique that was used by the Uchiha wouldn't even reach Shiro due to the true distance being twenty meters; and with the Fire Clone having already seen the Uchiha come forth past the tree, the moment the clone would strike out with the kunai (the moment Faust had stopped his Shunshin and executed his lightning attack), Shiro would bound forward with a jump (further decreasing the distance by five more meters) whilst twisting his body as handseals were created. Seeing as it was unlikely that the Uchiha could 'respond' to the Kunai aimed to the back of his head with himself being preoccupied with a jutsu (seeing as a kunai toss takes a second or two to hit a target over a ten meter distance), in case he somehow 'escaped' this surprise attack to the back of his skull, fire moving double the speed of that thrown kunai would rip over the landscape and surround the Uchiha, the intense heat draining any strength that could possibly be left in him. Rather than interrogate him however, once the cage was created (and seeing as how a kunai only takes a couple seconds to hit a target once thrown, its highly unlikely you'll be escaping a fire that travels double that speed up to forty meters) it would completely close in on the Uchiha, aiming to do nothing but burn him to ashes.
Whats sad is that during this whole time frame, the Uchiha would have a constant drain of chakra due to the second stage sharingan (which sadly, Shiro never got to see), the use of four C rank techniques, 4 B rank shunshins, and 1 B rank lightning technique... where as Shiro merely used a couple C ranks. Talk about wasting your chakra. Even if the Uchiha somehow magically evaded both the incoming kunai aimed to the back of his skull, he would still have to deal with the raging flames that would surround and engulf him almost instantly. Besides, its not like one can simply 'Shunshin' away while utilizing a technique at the same time, correct?
Hibashiri (Running Fire) Rank: A Type: Offensive / Katon Ninjutsu Range: 0 - 40 meters Special: Fire stream travels at twice the speed of a well thrown kunai. Up to 1 stream can be produced at any given time, resulting in one imprisoned target; each time retrained, one extra stream is gained, and thus, one extra potential target. Description: An excellent trapping jutsu, this allows the Katon user to essentially generate rings of fire around their opponent. After a few brief handseals, the user sends a stream of fire across the ground moving at high speeds, aiming to strike their target. However, rather than burning on impact, the fire stream quickly splits in two so that it may surround the target in a circular manner. Once the two meet again on the other side, a wall of fire double that of the victim's size is erected all around (underground included), with heat and intensity of flame doubling. From there, the user may choose to either close the prison in on the victim, or keep it active for the sake of interrogation. Domain: Katon EXP: 150 (1 Stream)
First: Alright. Given that this thread wasn't intended to be a battle thread and the attacking party is the one who instigated the fight, I'm going to have to rule in favor of the land being full of trees. This abides by what we all know the land to truly be like outside of T1 regulation. Therefore, Shiro isn't running through an open field but, in fact, weaving through trees.
Second: Although I can't say, for sure, that Fina had every intention of summoning the shocking clones before Shiro was "forced" to reveal all of his jutsu under the banner of teh almightee t1 ruelz -- I'll be honest in saying that it seems like metagaming. However, given the fact that I can't prove this, and the fact that the Sharingan can see through the Bunshin's disguise, Faust can detect who the real Shiro is.
Third: Shiro threw a kunai, replaced himself with a Bunshin, and ran. Therefore, the youth that Faust would've seen in the tree would've been none other than the Bunshin, and given the fact that his Sharingan was activated, he would've known it was such. However, since Faust would've been dodging the kunai and summoning his own clones, he wouldn't have noticed Shiro slipping off into the distance.
Due to the fact that Faust, or his clones, couldn't have noticed Shiro tra-la-la'ing off like a fairy through the trees, there could have been no pursuit. Reasons why is because Faust would've been too busy dodging and summoning stuffs. When Faust did look up into the tree after being attacked, he wouldn't have know there was a Fire Clone as it was the actual Shiro he'd seen attacking.
The posts of pursuit are null and void. The attack due to being pursued is null and void. Shiro is in the woods being a fairy and Faust is still at the tree plotting his next move.
On the subject of Jae's second ruling, if no environment is explicitly (the first poster not taking their liberty to be detailed about the environment and distancing) stated one does have the choice to craft certain elements themselves. Fina did just that. There was nothing wrong with the post in that regard, and there should never have been a ruling against that, in my opinion.
Last Edit: Apr 29, 2011 16:55:13 GMT -8 by Comatose
I am cementing Comatose's opinion here. It should be noted that just because you don't think a thread will become a battlefield doesn't mean that it might. It's up to the first poster to create the environment of any thread, not just a battle one, and the failure of the original poster to do so leaves it up to the next person to do. If that person fails, the next poster gets the chance to, etc., until someone does it.
The name says it all. Reserved for those with a no-holds barred RP mentality, only the most seasoned role-players should choose this setting due to its demand. High in intensity, Death Enabled situations will appear at all times. That's right - under this difficulty, the PC will be Death Enabled at all times.. Players choosing this setting can reach a maximum rank of Jounin.
..I wasn't even aware this thread would become a battleground...
Uh, are you aware of the rules? Last time I checked, you claimed yourself to be of the 'Advanced' difficulty level, right? So why are you surprised you're being attacked? You're DE in every thread you enter.
[/u] This also leads me to this...
When entering combat, aside from the basics of T1 RP, there are a few basics to keep in mind:
List all items/weapons/jutsu used in each post in the form of a quotation or a spoiler
DO NOT AUTO HIT..unless the person has missed their IIC =/
Keep Types in mind and be logical when performing certain actions - i.e. Taijutsu types will be the fastest, but Gen and Nin types will have better chakra control
Each IC combat post is worth approximately 4 - 6 seconds in elapsed time, when engaging in direct combat
Keep Difficulty Settings in mind before attacking!
All of these rules apply to this situation.
First things first - you don't HAVE to quote jutsu, items or weapons your preparing to use in FUTURE rounds, you only have to quote the jutsu you use in your CURRENT POST. So, for example, if you're preparing to evade an attack, like say a fireball, by placing items in an area to replace with using kawarimi in future rounds, I don't expect you to mention it at ALL until you actually DO the Kawarimi.
If you're gonna evade that same fire with a bunch of flickers, then damn right I expect you to quote jutsu! If people can just attack without actually showing proof they have the skill, weapon or item in question, pretty soon you'll start seeing people doing stuff they don't know how to do, they don't have, or they cannot use properly >.>
Since I AM allowed to edit the battlefield because you didn't describe it outside of yourself and the three you're leaning on, not only does your last post fail (putting us back where I'm slashing while you flicker around the open), but the fact you're now choosing to just 'afk and ignore' means you've wasted your only chance to try and edit your post to dodge my attack.
Opportunity is gone, making the hit most likely automatic due to ignoring the whole threa. Just because you can't handle the rules and don't seem to like them doesn't mean you're gonna get your way. I hate to put so much OOC up, but someone needs to remind you of the RULES.
With his body rendered shreds under the power of my righteous lightning, the foolish youngster playing ninja no longer held a breath in his body. Should any interference remain, it'd be dealt with swiftly; otherwise, the clones would do quick work of looting the body, as well as taking with them the remains.
"Suna huh...? What are THEY doing out here!?"
In the end, it did not matter. It was time to return to my shinobi, the proud warriors of Silent Homicide. Their sensei had slipped away midst their dreams, murder weaved like puppetry through his skilled hands. As he exited the scene, one last bleak look was afforded to the scum. Such was the fate of hose that opposed Kumo.
