Windswept and desolate. That's about all Ujiyasu could describe of Kaze no Kuni.

Yet another country that the boy had traveled to, it was, once again, an entirely different experience. Desert as far as the eye could see. It was also unreasonably hot.

Ujiyasu was here not because of a mission, or because of anything important... but he simply wanted to see the world. His travels to various countries on business had him wanting to take the time to explore for himself. He managed to obtain clearance to go to Kaze no Kuni (so they could keep tabs on him naturally) and traversed the land once again.

Guess it's a good thing I can cool things down. Not keen to be caught out here too long. Be much, much worse than being stuck in the Kaminari mountains.

Ujiyasu's attention then turned to the abrupt and violent eruption of sand and cloud, some forty metres away, to the south-west. When the dust settled, a truly fearsome sight greeted the Chuunin: a feline-like Bijuu cloaked in a burning flame, with two tails. Two tails?!

Memories of the days he had spent on the road returned to him. Memories of fleeing Kusagakure because of the Yonbi, the five-tailed beast. Memories of the devastation. And now Kazi no Kuni would be next to suffer.

A concoction of emotions welled up inside, mostly fear, but also a more focused sense of determination. He had become a little more learned in the art of Fuuinjutsu, on top of his own ability to control ice, and because of this, he felt he would be able to try and bring this beast down, if at all possible. He knew he could not do this alone however... but through the sand veil of wind, he could make out some people. Perhaps they saw this creature too... perhaps they can help.

Unsure of what he should do, but at the same time, decided on a course of action, the wild-haired shinobi made his slow, but steady advance toward the Nibi.

From far, far away I witnessed the birth of a calamity. At the crest of a large dune riddled at its base by large stones my sea toned eyes grew wide at the sight of it claiming the expansive desert for itself. A creature I'd only heard about in mere folklore - children's stories. It was nothing short of colossal. Twin tails whipped violently out yonder, being composed only of intense azure flames, as was the remainder of its feline body. I fathomed it had the potential to cause earthquakes, crush mountains, and burn entire cities to the ground. 90 meters in the distance I couldn't feel the heat it gave off and that much I was happy about. Both my beige scarf and short strands of black hair gave in to the constant winds of Kaze no Kuni. I was sure I'd also seen a few brave souls out near where the two-tailed cat was. They were likely to be shinobi. From Sunagakure? Regardless, were they truly capable of bringing down such a titan, let alone slow it down? I wasn't in such a rush to meet the demon face-to-face. Seeing as my talents as a sensor were so finely tuned it didn't take long for me to catch on to just how incomprehensible the chakra capacity of the bijuu really was. This journey to the desert had been one for vacation purposes but so much for that now. I wanted to help out in any way I could but considering the circumstances. . .

It was finally time for everybody too show there true colors, and this was the perfect way to see it. The many thoughts racing through Shiro's mind were uncountable, yet he couldn't help himself from over thinking the situation at hand. He had no experience when it came to war or anything close to it. Instead he followed the team the Mist assembled, including a few ninja he had of through rumors and the Kage himself.

The Hyuuga glanced down at himself, making sure he was ready for battle. His jacket was on, concealing all his tools he would need in this battle, fully prepared. The young one even brought himself a second pair of underwear if anything were to happen that would cause a leakage. Running a hand through his green hair, he let a sigh of relief escape his lips once he caught up to the Kage and the team. The sudden boom happened, causing Shiro to shake up a little.

He noticed the beast, erupting in a pool of flames. The company of the stronger Mist ninja made him feel more powerful. Although this was the first time, the first time he ever witnessed a tailed beast before him. The sudden urge move his hand to his Katana rised, riling up the boy. There had to be a plan to capture the dangerous beast, or everybody was done for. He relied on his seniors to give him some sort of plan to utilize right now.

"What's the plan, Akira-senpai?

The deserts of Kaze no Kuni rippled in response to the Nibi’s roar. An omen, a calamity, had come to Kaze no Kuni and subsequently Sunagakure. The stories of the Bijuu, their power and the destruction that came from their appearance were beacons that called forth the brave and foolish. Akane found himself, despite his upbringings, to be in either of the groups who would face against a Bijuu. His positioning was twenty meters east of the Kazekage and Hokage’s company. To those around him (whoever they be) their presence would be noted, the Kage-Hebi was alert.

"This doesn't look like Kouketsu's doing..." a voice spoke to no one in particular, unheard to all minus a very few close by. The silhouette of a man sat upon the top of the walls of Sunagakure, meters⁵⁰ to the west from any direct company situated upon the sands - though demonic red eyes took notice of a cluster of men (and a woman) down below. He was a fair distance up, a speck - but he could tell by their garb that they were foreign to the lands. Who they were, however, was unknown to him.

They were not, however, allies of him.

He had no need to make a move for he was but an observant of this carnage to come, to see the ability of those who deemed themselves strong. There was no hurry - feet kicked in a slight swing while forearms laid over his thighs, fingers close together yet forming no seals, pupils becoming something akin to slits.

The amber eyes of the tattoo'd Suna-nin seemed to glow underneath the mask of darkness that his cloak made. It was a bit length compared to his body, but fitted nice around the waist - providing protection and warmth whenever he would need it. Partly he used it as a disguise, hiding all the heavy markings that he had embedded his skin with. The sands were starting to pick up too, and walking around barechested was asking for irritating scratches for the morning.

Koji sat behind Shiro, not particularly attentive to anything. He was waiting for the events to fall in place and go crazy. With the monster rampaging the land - he felt sorry for all those prepared to engage in close combat. Instead, he would hopefully stand on the walls and just paint away, sending forth crazy and unorthodox designs. He doubted the beast, if not anyone - would give him any particular attention. Especially when they were engaged with more worthy foes. And that's why he would be useful, no one watches the small creepy kid in the shadows during a fight. Only the dumb jocks.

Standing in short reach of his kin, the light haired boy gazed down upon the battlefield below. From such a high altitude, and a distance no less than fifty meters from the rest, everything appeared very small and insignificant. Mugen released a slight sigh, thin lips parting with a snake-like delivery, "Ssshall we watch for now?" His coo was rather sarcastic, and a devilish grin formed on his fair complexion. Hands dug into his pockets, and with an air of boredom, he kicked a rock from the high standing wall, watching as it fell into the sand beneath. But as he watched the pandemonium ensue, his eyes narrowed, pupils taking the form of slits in his keen analysis. It seemed not one of the poor souls had witnessed their presence, and standing along with his comrade, he glanced to Shu in hope he'd take the first action.

Soon, everything would be theirs for the taking.

For several days, the Nibi had been kept at bay by its invisible chains. The pair of shinobi that released the creature kept a weary eye on it, ensuring she would not enter the village; she was bound by a will greater than her own, and only allowed to unleash her fury upon those that dared travel outside of Sunagakure's walls. Her goal was simple: to keep them trapped, and wait for the arrival of the world's strongest.

One by one they trickled in, like mice to a trap. But, the Nibi remained still and patient, her green and yellow eyes observing all that she could. Pacing to and fro, turning every now and again, she had seen all who had come to witness her glorious rise. But, there were those who dared trek too close.

Now, a voice rang through the creature's mind. You will test their merit. With a piercing snarl, the Nibi was more than ready to begin this little game. Her first targets? The Konohagakure unit directly before her.

Flames coagulated before her open maw, hotter and brighter than the most potent of Katon jutsu. Unlike the bijuu dama, the Menacing Fire Ball could be channeled in mere moments - and fire with equal destructive force. Easily ten times the size of an adult, the sphere raced toward the trio (and Kazekage) like a missile, reverting a path of sand beneath it to glass from the heat permeating from its ravenous flames. Even with a distance of thirty meters separating them, it would only be a handful of seconds before the projectile was upon them.

And even if they were to evade, then there would be nothing stopping the blast from reaching the Gates of Sunagakure which were (albeit quite far) behind them.

And with the initial attack set into motion, the Nibi then turned its dual-colored gaze upon the approaching Kirigakure forces to its right. Low to the ground and primed to attack, the creature waited.

Before posting, I expect all of you to read people's posts. It will make things go a lot smoother in the long run, and help us all avoid confusion. One thing I'd like to point out in the distances that have been mentioned thus far.

As I stated in the original post(s), the Nibi is roughly 100 meters away from the gates of Sunagakure. For anyone in or on those gates, the closest you can be to the Nibi is 100 meters. Please, ensure that you understand the increments and values you are putting in your posts before hitting the "Post Reply" button.

Her eyes, though not the physically strongest aspect in her arsenal, were the true strength that she carried. Every chakra signature, every movement, all of it was being noted with each and every pulse of the veins along her temples. But more so the signature of one Uchiha, Ashura caught her attention. Looking up as he started his descent with one of his dragons, the boy landed too her left. As per usual, he seemed quite thrilled for the situation at hand. That attitude would get him in trouble one day, but she was glad that someone of his caliber, someone similar to the one likely behind this, had been refreshing.

“Ashura,” She started, glancing back towards the Nibi, not that she needed to due to her Byakugan, before looking back to him once more. “I’d reprimand you for not coming with the others I had sent requests too, but quite frankly, as one of my Sannin candidates I’m glad that you’re here now.”

Kohana noted his eyes, the onyx shade brightening to a shocking red and then further evolving into something she hadn’t seen in quite a long time—the Mangekyou. Slowly but surely he was becoming more and more like his father in terms of power. Still a far cry, but he would reach that one day and the Hokage knew deep down that he would be the opposite of that dreaded man Kouketsu. That in itself was a relief. But even as all this went on the numbers she counted in the back of her head. And then he approached.

Almost like the feline raging ahead of them, Kohana was the same. Ever graceful yet poised to strike if necessary. The stranger showed no remorse in coming so close to the trio as he did, which she found odd, but in what few words he spoke she couldn’t help but be surprised. As far as she knew, Sunagakure had still been under ownership of the Tsuchikage and Iwagakure. Also, if anything, the man she had met, Sora, would most likely still be Kazekage. It was a shock that she wasn’t expecting but the smile that tugged at the corners of her mouth said otherwise.

“This must be sending many of your people into hiding, stricken with fear. I know the feeling, Lord Kazekage. My people have suffered under numerous other circumstances as well.” She would pause, though briefly to match his pose—her arms crossed over her chest. “As Hokage, it’s quite painful. However I know I would want the safety of my village and my people as priority as well. So I’ll certainly take you up on your offer.”

16…17…18………..hm. A total of eighteen other shinobi scattered about other than myself, Ashura and Aota. This certainly should be interesting—Akira?! He’s really…but…why…dumb question…maybe I should, no, I can’t, the Nibi…I…

Any time for thought was cut short.

All too quickly the beast before them would snarl a throaty growl whilst fire gathered at her mouth. The Nibi’s attack came swiftly, almost without any warning. If it hadn’t been for her growl, and for Kohana’s eyes, she really would have never seen this coming so quickly and so soon considering the beast would allow so many to amass to its location already. Just from that tidbit alone it was obvious something much larger was at play here.

“Ashura! Defense, now!” It was a gamble to rely on the young Uchiha but she had faith in him regardless. However that did not mean she didn’t crouch down into a running start position in case something were to go terribly wrong. At the same time she formed a few hand seals as she did lower herself. No matter what she had to be prepared for either possible outcome. She didn’t feel as though she needed to announce to the Kazekage how to order his people either, but if he was smart he would have them be ready to move, and move fast, if Ashura couldn’t bring a defense quickly up.

" Nibi!? What the hell are you talking about!!! " Chimamire was lifted his left hand over his face, shielding it from the sands. The winds picked up upon the arrival of a new variable in this frightening situation. A dragon -- His face steeled up into a poker face at how horrible of a situation he had gotten himself into. A singular pulse of chakra was all it took for his pinwheel to beginning it's cycle. It was the partially matured version of the sharingan -- the third tomoe.

The fear turned into pure embarrassment, when Chimamire realized the person with the dragon was Ashura. The shaking within his body wouldn't stop even as he knew he needed to be strong. It was ten days ago that he had a conversation with Ashura about the well being of the clan. A surge of energy struck throughout Chima's body as he remembered his position. He was the Uchiha's clan leader; a title not given out just because. " Ashura. . . humph hehe " Chima turned his head towards the Nibi, being that his position was across from ashura but behind the hokage.

The triange positioning was all that held together the short burst of irrational confidence Chimamire had left in his body. But even that was on a tight wire as Nibi began it's assualt. The flame spewing from it's mouth turned the sandy landscape into a crystal-like horror. " I don't think I'm fast enough to dodge this. . . Hey! Ashura if you have anything from the ancient tomes I suggest you use it now. Or else hell I'm done for. "

This aspect of his personality - the combination of fear and pride was brand new. The adrenaline rush was combined with a temporary paralysis. The thoughts of burning alive, and being blown to pieces still pierced into his mind. Yet there was still a chance he could get out of the fear, but only slightly if pushed by another event.

Ashura could only smirk at the Hokage's comment, though he was somewhat disturbed at the fact that the three of them were all that dared represent the Hidden Leaf at such a crucial moment in time. The arrival of a fourth, soon revealed to be the Kazekage, was the only event that took his evolved eyes off of the Nibi's figure (albeit briefly). Regardless of his rank or power, the boy was nothing more than a Jounin -- a shinobi, and as such, he had little reason to meddle in a conversation between Kages.

Thankfully, the boy's diligence paid off. Had he been more engrossed in the conversation, and less with the Nibi before them, he probably wouldn't have been able to react in time to the beast's fiery assault, even with his augmented vision.

"On it!" Ashura bellowed before Kohana could even finish her sentence, let alone Aota with his monologue. The young Uchiha had already brought his right thumb up and across his upper row of teeth, slicing its pad open, and then performed a short series of three seals¹. Considering his short stature, crouching at the knees and bringing that same, now bloodied, hand upon the shifting sands took no more than a fraction of a second. An intricate ebony seal unfurled along the golden terrain, and the four entities were then consumed in an eruption of thick, blinding smoke.

The Menacing Fire Ball plunged into the coffin of grey and white, like a dagger to flesh, only to explode in a terrifying display of fire and sheer force. The earth shook with tremendous force, and gouts of flame that could devour a man whole sprouted in every which direction. The swelling sphere of flames only added to the sea of smoke that shrouded the nearby vicinity. However, a silhouette could be seen within this screen; equivalent to the Nibi in size, though far taller.

Shifting its arms, the monolithic dragon, known only as Tate, stood completely unscathed. Steam rolled from his two enormous forearms, which from the looks of their reddened scales, where the metaphorical wall the bijuu's projectile had connected with.

"That was close," the dragon crooned, "Ashura-sama."

"I apologize for summoning you into the middle of an attack without any warning, but--"

"It's alright," he interjected. "I know you had a good reason."

Ashura nodded. "Please, guard the village. I'm sure the Nibi will try and attack it again."

Tate glanced over his broad shoulder at Sunagakure, and then nodded in agreement with the young Uchiha. "Very well."

Excellent, Ashura thought to himself. However, it was quite unfortunate that Tate was the only option that he really had to both save his comrades and the village, as well. He was by far one of the most costly dragons to bring forth; the boy had already spent nearly two thirds of his entire chakra reservoir. But, Ashura couldn't complain - the true "ultimate defense" was well worth the energy. "Sunagakure is safe," he sighed while deactivating his Mangekyou. He had to conserve every bit of energy that he had left. "Unfortunately, I won't be able to effectively use my Sharingan with this low of chakra, Hokage-sama."

Unlatching a pair of scrolls from the front of his flak jacket, the boy held both before him in a single hand. He could see the Nibi primed for an attack in the space between Tate's arms, focusing its attention on the forces approaching from the west. "This'll be more challenging than I thought."

Pleased with the response of the young, bodacious Hokage, Yoshirou's chakra manifested puppet smiled and nodded it's head on command by his true self, which sat perched, secluded on top the gates, far away from one of his trusted shinobi and his overgrown canine companion^{Wolfy, 30 Meters}. The clone would proceed to flick off his hood, revealing his face and giving him his full range of vision. He began popping his neck and moving it side to side, slyly taking count of most of the individuals in his line of vision, (Kirigakure forces)

New ones hm? Seems the Mizukage is taking interest in my humble abode aswell. Atleast I know they'll handle the beast.

His attention turned back to the monstorous cat, who herself looked primed for battle. It reared back in an instant, an enormous construct of it's fiery hot chakra manifesting within the confines of it's jaws, and it seemed the Kazekage and the three Konoha shinobi were the unfortunate targets.

"Hold on, I'll take care of this--"

His speech was soundly cut off by the Hokage's stern orders, and just as the Kazekage was about to give another witty response, the young boy, who couldn't have been no older than 14, would bring forth a regal figure more menacingly large than the Bijuu itself. Both Yoshi's clone and his real selfs' eyes enlarged at the site of the beast, but he came quickly back into his cool, calm composure.

"Hmph, seems the might of Konohagakure is nothing to be trifled with, you have yourself a fine shinobi, Hokage-sama."

The clone began to weave a set of handseals¹ in tandem with his speech, five in all, holding the last seal with everlasting anticipation of the events to come.

"I guess it's time for me to show you why I'm the Kazekage, I suppose."

As I had expected the gathering ninja had begun their counter-assault against the Nibi, rather than caring at all what it's motives were. In the case of the resident Sunagakure ninja, it couldn't be helped at all, at least considering that the bijuu sought to rend their village asunder. However, in the case of the rest of the ninja I couldn't help feel sorry for such barbarous ways. The average ninja knew nothing but the heat of battle and taste of blood.

My thoughts were broken only by the explosion of chakra that heralded the both the creation of the bijuu's attack and the summoning of the great dragon that now lied in it's path of destruction. My eyes widened a bit, narrowing at the sight with small disbelief as it unfolded before me. There were several layers to this disbelief, the summoning a dragon, the sheer size of this dragon, and quite simply the fact it had shrugged off the attack of the bijuu with such ease.

A hand rose to the top of my own head, scratching inquisitively, before looking over to Youka. "Isn't that something? A dragon summon. . one so large, and capable of deflecting a bijuu attack. Perhaps the best bet might be to do nothing at all. This is far more valuable intel than I would have imagined. Of course, if you have more nefarious plans, be my guest. I still want to know why this Bijuu is here."

I sat down passively upon the sand as if a movie-goer watching their favorite film for the 100th time, both leaned back and completely relaxed — almost entranced by the visual spectacle. Though there was no lying about the fact that I too enjoyed the unfolding of battle, I appreciated the makings of history and the rigidity of information more. All I needed was some popcorn.

My hands tightened around the hilts of my dual swords and the wind picked up marginally, sensing my delight — a dragon! A dragon had been summoned before my very eyes, clear as day despite how far away I was; it was larger than any creature I had seen before, even my beloved birds. In all its glory the dragon had even managed to withstand the bijuu's otherworldly assault.

Fire.

I felt my lips twitch into a smile as the adrenaline coursed through me, the beginnings of an idea forming in my head. I had to admit, it was a bit sadistic, but I just had to test the prowess of the shinobi that had managed to summon such a large beast, caparable only to the force of nature that was this feline. I sheathed my swords in one deft motion; practice makes perfect. With my newly freed hand I reached up and flipped down the lens of my tracker.

10 meters, 50 meters, 100 meters ..

I zoomed it in to its fullest extent, locking onto what had previously been a speck in my vision, but where I assumed the dragon had come from. There was still quite a distance between us, not to mention the interference of clouds of sand from the bijuu's movement, but I could at least make out a semblence of his appearance. A boy. A child, really, nothing more. I could see no distinguishable characteristics. With his dark hair and light skin, he could have belonged to any faction, clan, or organization.

"We have no chance of capturing the bijuu for ourselves if we are pitted against a shinobi that could match our summons, surely," I agreed with my husband, meanwhile forming a single handseal that would ultimately lead to the nefarious plan he had mentioned. "Feel free to watch, my love. I want to have a bit of fun."

I didn't bother to mention my fascination with the child. We had one of our own on the way, and between the two of us I could only assume ours would be just as accomplished as this one at the same age. But how strong is he, really?

As I broke the handseal the air in front of me began to twist and turn, whirling together into the semblence of a single large pillar of wind. Although normally it would have been relatively hard to see, the tornado was quickly picking up sand, making it look much more imposing than it really was. It reached into the sky, nearly as tall as the bijuu itself; with simply my will, it began to tear forward through the desert, closing the distance between the tailed beast and itself.

It wasn't intended to harm anything that got in its way. Really, a person could have walked through its base and come out fine, except for perhaps a stinging eye full of sand. No, it was the residual effects of this whirlwind that would cause the most problems .. for the shinobi. As it spun, it circulated the oxygen around it as well, providing the bijuu with a rich supply to fuel its attacks.

Could anyone stand up to a powered-up bijuu fire attack? I wanted to find out.
