Sayuri smirked as Naota, surprisingly, laid into them. Of course, it was in his own way. He valued the companionship between comrades, especially those of the same village. Whether it be between fellow shinobi or between the villagers and the shinobi. They were all like an extended family to him. Ideals like that these days were quite rare. Even she didn't feel the same way as he did.
It's almost dangerous to feel that way, Naota. One day you may give mercy to the wrong person, and he may walk away with your head...
The thought discouraged her, but regardless she nodded her head to her companion as he brushed passed her. Clearly he was finished here and didn't want anything else to do with the civilians that they had to rough up. Smirking she watched his retreating form for a moment before turning to those that they had beat up.
"Listen," she started, folding her arms across her chest. "Take what you have learned today and know that no matter what the case is, you all are protected. I know what happened in the past can cause that to be questionable." The Kurama sighed, almost trailing off for a moment. "But, that's no reason to give up hope."
After all, hope was everything to those in this profession. Sure skill and dedication went a long way, but without hope there was no room for you to succeed. With that thought in mind, she bowed to the elderly man from before, who now was at the front of the small crowd, before turning away from them. With a wave she began walking back to the village like Naota had done before her.
I wonder if these people aren't the only ones. There have been a lot of things going on lately with shady characters and the Hokage has seemed pretty stressed...I wonder....
